Escola, história e claquete: a produção audiovisual escolar e o ensino de história / School, history and clapperboard

Thiago de Faria e Silva 01 December 2016 (has links)
This research analyses the school audiovisual production from the collection catalogue of two school video contests: Panasonic Kid Witness News (1989-2015) and Festival do Minuto (2010-2013). The survey gathered 741 videos produced in schools from Brazil and other 33 countries. These works were perceived as engrossing practices of school culture (VIÑAO FRAGO, 2007; JULIA, 2001), organizing themselves as a privileged field of tension between the modern school structure and the transformations of contemporary culture at the end of the twentieth century and beginning of the twenty-first (BAUMAN, 1999; GIDDENS, 2007; TIRAMONTI, 2005). Considering the concepts of cyberculture (LÉVY, 1999) and real virtuality (CASTELLS, 1999), the research investigates the place of audiovisual production on contemporary school, particularly on History Teaching and on the formation of students historical consciousness (RÜSEN, 2010; BERGMANN, 1990). As a means to reach this goal, this work develops an analysis concerned with the discussion of the following issues: the production conditions that are peculiar to school videos; specific analysis criteria for the assessment of school production; the transit between the mediatic and cinematographic narrative forms and their appropriation by the school culture; and, the recognition of some general themes on the contemporary audiovisual school culture. Thus, the research aims at contributing to the reflections about the challenges and potentialities of audiovisual production on History Teaching in schools, which is increasingly integrated to the cyberculture and tensioned by the real virtuality.

A mística da resistência: culturas, histórias e imaginários rebeldes nos movimentos sociais latino-americanos / The mysticism of the resistance: cultures, histories and imaginary rebels in the Latin American social movements

Sebastiao Leal Ferreira Vargas Netto 31 August 2007 (has links)
This theses analyses aspects of the political culture of two Latin American popular movements: the Brazil´s Landless Workers Movement (MST) and the Mexican guerrilla of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). Besides it presents two objectives I´d like to discuss in particular. The first one is the intellectual challenge to build up a critical knowledge and to point out the historical relationship between fight and social conscience. The second one is how to decipher, in the confusion of wills of the historical scene, the possibilities and the efficiency of the peasant and indian utopia to overcome the many adversities got in centuries of domination and transforming resistances. Therefore this study intends to show through the analysis of the complex historical traditions and the ideology of these movements what is the relationship between the radicalism of the fight and diverse cultural factors. Using not only varied documentary supports but also the observation of the daily life, I reconstitute and reflect on the process of creation of a new political culture that contributes for the emergency of projects and political attitudes that organize the hope and the revolt as well the way they articulate and mix modernity with tradition. From a point of view that deals with not only what people think about ideological principles but also utopian and poetic ones, I analyze and compare the speeches and the memories; the religiosity, the rituals and the mysticism present in these movements in order to detect affinities, convergences and divergences in the political culture that emerge from the Latin American countryside. In my conclusion I hope that a secular perspective study of wide duration may enrich the understanding of these rebellious movements that make of its historical memory and of its symbols a propeller of subjectivity that stimulates its existence.

Jaquet, Gabriela Menezes January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to understand the possibility and developments of what we perceive as a differentway of approaching history, one that gives privilege to the category of event in its composition. To achieve this, we have chosen to check its operational plausibility in the work of Michel Foucault based on a reading that makes explicit the relations between the domains of the discursive and the non-discursive. Our objective is to give an account of the modifications brought out by his eventalization of history. We thus aim to analyse a specific result stemming from the theoretical construction whose purpose is to accomplish a history of the present: the configuration of pastoral power as based on the problematic of its conduction and its relation to the Foucauldian diagnosis of the Iranian Insurrection of 1979.

Lima, Laís Alves de Oliveira 31 August 2015 (has links)
The streets with its inhabitants, life forms emerge in an unpredictable daily although the regulation seeks uniformity and predictability for the experience. Walking on the plots of the city, searching for life forms that resist the logic wich prevent the proliferation of difference, a writing on subjectivity production in the city outlined. The writing was done through the experience of streets and discussions revolving around it, from the ethnography of urban space recorded in field diaries. The meetings were produced in the streets with residents, bystanders, people who make the street work camp. Contact with the metropolis, their relationships and multiplicity, revealed a moving field and led the look on possibilities of life that are carried in the gaps in a way there capitalistic into thinking such lives that resist as life-creating itself as works of Art. Franz Kafka appears there as the intercessor of a full metamorphoses of writing that seeks to narrate the tales lived in as Maria Feliciana, An Acrobatic Girl, The Bridge and The Soup People. From the experiences in the metropolis it was observed that more than conserving, life wants to expand, generating more life, impose themselves a new direction. Writing sought new ways of thinking about the present, creating escape routes for problems that arise in daily life. The path is open, discussions here are made of paths that seek to lead the eye on the present.

The construction of the Aids patient in South African bio-medical discourse

Lightfoot, Neil Gordon 09 1900 (has links)
The humanised Aids patient increasingly finds itself a part of mainstream popular rhetoric. There was a time however, when the Aids patient was no more than a disease ravaged corpse without rights. Conventional histories and analyses tend to gloss over this fact, or argue that the new, authentic patient is a triumph of wisdom over brute ignorance, fear and superstition. Such accounts overlook their own role and the part played by the bio-medical sciences in constructing the Aids patient. This thesis, in contradistinction, traces the Aids patient's portrayal in South African bio-medical discourses, applying to it the work of Michel Foucault. In doing so the dynamic interactions of power and knowledge are brought under the spotlight. / Psychology / M.A. (Psychology)

Politique et militarisme en Angola : les relations entre le Mouvement Populaire de Libération de l’Angola (MPLA) et l’Union des Républiques Socialistes Soviétiques (URSS) 1965-1985 / Politics and militarism in Angola : the relationship between the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) 1965‐1985

Oliveira de Araujo, Kelly Cristina 22 July 2014 (has links)
Angola became independent from Portugal on 11 November 1975, in the midst of internal disputes that led to the outbreak of civil war caused by the fact that the MPLA unilaterally declared independence in Luanda. This moment has been determined largely by the support received from Cuba and the Eastern bloc, specifically the USSR during the 14 years of anti-colonial struggle. In the post-independence period, between 1975 and 1991, although Soviet military bases were not been installed in Angola, it should be noted the political-ideological influence and military presence of the Soviet Union, which exercised a high degree compared with other countries in the context of global bipolarity. From an ideological point of view, Soviet influence was manifested in the actions of the Angolan government in that it affected the building and a sense of national identity, as well as membership in an Angolan nation, objectified in the process of formation of the New Man, promoted by the Party-state. From a military point of view, the involvement of Moscow in the war in Angola has led us to conclude that in this territory the Soviets gave greater importance to the consolidation of the state in which affected the safety and building equipment policies, providing material and advisory support to the military forces of Angola, although it is important to note that the Soviets did not control the internal politics of the country.

Kulturpolitik : Formeringen av en modern kategori / Cultural Policy : Establishing a Modern Category

Klockar Linder, My January 2014 (has links)
This dissertation analyses the formation of Swedish cultural policy in the twentieth century and the emergence of a modern concept of cultural policy. The aim is to historicise this concept by opening up the process through which it was established. The dissertation explores different aspects of this process: the use of the word cultural policy (kulturpolitik), the ambitions in the 1960s to establish a form of knowledge production relevant in cultural policy making and the attempts made by various official authorities in the 1960s and early 1970s to identify and manage the field of concerns defined as belonging to cultural policy, thus demarcating culture as a formal area of policy making. I view these as examples of practices where the category of cultural policy was elaborated and established in a form widely recognized today. Accompanying my attempts to historicise the modern concept of cultural policy is an interest in how the history of cultural policy has generally been conceived. In previous research devoted to the history of cultural policy an analytical sense of cultural policy has tended to overrule the understanding(s) of cultural policy found in the historical sources. As a consequence, the histories of cultural policy have left out what historically was identified as cultural policy, thus leaving the historical grounds for the modern concept of cultural policy partly hidden. In the first empirical chapter I examine the uses of the word cultural policy when it was introduced in the Swedish language in the late nineteenth century until the 1950s. From a multitude of usages, I suggest that it was in the mid-twentieth century that a more consistent vocabulary developed, with “cultural policy” referring to political endeavors aiming at a nation’s domestic cultural life. In the second empirical chapter I investigate how scientific conceptualisations and operationalisations rendered culture available for scientific, political and administrative undertakings, and in the third chapter I study how culture was demarcated as a formal area of policy making. The chapters reveal different aspects of the historical process through which the category of cultural policy was established in its present shape.
