Arquitetura alternativa: 1956-1979 / Alternative Architecture:1956-1979Edite Galote Rodrigues Carranza 14 February 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with a minor portion of the São Paulo state architecture that was part of the Brazilian Counterculture in the period of 1956-1979. The work had as main theme the trajectory of the architects Lina Bo, Sergio Ferro, Rodrigo Lefèvre, Flávio Império, Eduardo Longo, Vitor Lotufo and Pitanga do Amparo, and established the uniqueness of their productions in relation to hegemonic context; evaluated exemplary works of these productions through the re- drawing and on-site surveys; and identified correspondences among contemporary international trends and the debate of ideas and ideals with the cultural scene extended to the areas of music, theater, journalism, literature, visual arts and cinema. The theoretical and critical autonomy and the differentiated behavior of the architects listed, constituted in a challenge to the \"status quo\" social and cultural, to the hegemonic line of the \"Escola Paulista Brutalista\" and to the International Style. The designs, of the denominated Alternative Architecture, were distinguished by plastics solutions, use of vernacular materials and construction techniques or adopting new approaches, rejection to serialization or industrialization and search for sources of legitimation by multidisciplinary interfaces. The Alternative Architecture is therefore, a production on the sidelines of the hegemony, which by integrating the Brazilian Counterculture, attended the Cultural Revolution that occurred in many Western countries in the 1950s and 1970s

A \'recomendação das almas\' na comunidade remanescente de Quilombo de Pedro Cubas / The Recomendação das Almas in the former quilombo community of Pedro Cubas.Gabriela Segarra Martins Paes 10 April 2007 (has links)
The region between the rivers Pilões and Pedro Cubas had the richest gold mines of Eldorado (Sao Paulo), and it was there that were introduced the first slaves in the region. After the decline of the mining cycle, at the end of the XVIIIth century, many slaves were let by themselves or alforriados, and became peasants, with great autonomy concerning their economic and religious life. The local religious life was practically independent of the official clergy, and was administered by lay people. In this way, the local communities developed a popular Catholicism quite different from the Roman Catholicism, full of African influence, and the Recomendação das Almas was one of its practices. However, since the 1950s the traditional way of life of the black people of the region, characterized by the autonomy, begun to suffer impact caused by changes the illegal palm heart extraction, by the construction of the road, by the implantation of the conservation unities and by the threat of the dam constructions along the Ribeira River. At the same time, many practices of the popular Catholicism declined and the Recomendação das Almas continues to be realized only in the region of Pedro Cubas. Nevertheless, the black communities of the region organized themselves against adversities and recognized themselves as a former quilombo, and originated the communities of Pedro Cubas, Pedro Cubas de Cima, Sapatu, Nhunguara, São Pedro, Galvão, Ivaporunduva, André Lopes, Pilões and Maria Rosa. In this way, they fight against the dam, for the right of planting and for the land property of their territory.

ressignificações ante as tecnologias, numa pequena cidade mineira, buscando compreender o
This thesis relates na ethnographic researche that focuses the civilizing through the word

In this research I've been dedicated on thinking about a question of great interest to the sociological studies on culture: the investigation of popular culture manifestation. I have intended to understand the locus reserved to the traditional experience in this culture, specifically in almanaques, cordéis e xilogravuras produced by José Costa Leite (JCL). The problematics formulated by critical theorist Walter Benjamin to think about the transformations of experience (Erfahrung) and the consolidation of a private form of relationship with the world, which the author called experience (Erlebnis), seemed to me a interesting path to analyse the popular production of Costa Leite. As a historical matherialist, Benajmin analyses the phenomena articulated to the historical context in which they configurate themselves. The methodology followed on this research was similar to the one folowwed by the theorectical interlocutor, Walter Benjamin, so that the investigation about the presence (or absence) of the traditional experience in the production of Costa Leite could be understood as disappearance (or not) of the experience in modern world, not as the expression of another phenomena. Therefore, the methodology followed in this research is the historical matherialism. As the initial hypothesis was that the production of Costa Leite was capable of communicate experience, it was necessary to follow the same path that Benjamin made to elaborate his diagnosis, in other words, this research had to think about at what extent the context of production of Costa Leite differs from that from which Benjamin postulated the death of Erfahrung, so that the production of Costa Leite could be viewed as a form of transmission of knowledge that also go in against hand of specialized and massified knowledge and translate as a possibility of communicate Erfahrung / Mestrado / Sociologia / Mestra em Sociologia

Abstract: The object of this study is to focus on the formulations of Basic Education Movement (BEM) and the Center for Popular Culture (CPC) in the first half of the 1960s. Through theoretical-bibliographical and documental research it was intended to: 1) understand the historical political, social and economic context in which the MEB and the CPC emerged, 2) grasp the concepts of education, popular culture and social transformation present in the formulations of the two movements mentioned above, 3) explain the theoretical-philosophical moment and its influence in these formulations, and 4) analyze the theoretical debate present in both movements about methodological procedures of work with the masses. This paper is divided into three chapters: in the first one a review about the historical period is carried out with the study of its political and economic aspects, the identification of three basic institutions (the Catholic Church, the Brazilian Communist Party - BCP and the Superior Institute of Brazilian Studies - SIBS), the educational aspects and an overview of the movements. The second chapter exposes the formulations of BEM and CPC from the materials produced by the movements. The last chapter examines the conceptions of the movements with the help of some concepts of revolutionary romanticism, realism in education and non-directive pedagogies. In conclusion, it is pointed out that despite the institutional origins of different movements, their formulations are conflicting only precisely, as the rapprochement between both of them is excelled and mediated by the ideology of national developmentalism.

Ademais, diante da incumbência de analisar diferentes materialidades discursivas em composição, busca-se oferecer contribuições teórico-metodológicas que acarretem avanços, principalmente, no que concerne à análise do imagético e do que se nomeou, neste trabalho, como materialidade significante da musicalidade / Affiliated with the theoretical and methodological apparatus of Discourse Analysis (PÊCHEUX (1969); ORLANDI, 1984a), this doctoral thesis analyzes the operation of historical determinations that constitute discourses on and about the hip hop movement. For this, its material for analysis is the music video entitled Causa e efeito (BILL, 2011), posted on Youtube.com, in addition to assessments and comments from internet users subjects. By the observation of the meaning effects produced in the significant material combination (LAGAZZI, 2010) between lyrics, image and music, pervaded by the electronic discourse as fundamentally urban (DIAS, 2011), it is noted the historical mode of constitution, formulation and circulation of meanings and of subjects that take discourse positions along the tension between the reproduction of dominant meanings and the resistance to them. Based on the understanding achieved through the analysis, we promote a discussion concerning the manner the rapper-subject means school and education, what leads to possible considerations about the relationship between meaning effects production in the imaginaries of hip hop discourse and the effects of the liaison between subject, school and work while neoliberal ideological evidence. Thus, we discuss what a discursive analysis would have to say about the teacher’s possibilities for movement in the face of ideological determinations that cross the teaching practices in the school environment. Furthermore, considering the task of analyzing different discursive materialities in composition, we aim to offer theoretical and methodological contributions which may result in developments especially in regard to the analysis of imagery and to what has been denominated in this work as significant materiality of musicality

Previous issue date: 2008-11-14 / This thesis follows Curricular Research, Professionalization and Teaching Studies, and is based on investigation of Cultural Studies, Basil Bernstein s analyses on classification and framing, Boaventura de Souza Santos interpretation of the
paradigmatic transition of contemporary science, as well as Max Horkheimer s and Theodor Adorno s analyses on the dual relationship between instrumental and emancipative reason.
The teacher s proposal of curricular recontextualization of legal practice and research encompassing theoretical, jurisprudential and field research was performed by three professors and was put into practice by twenty-one undergraduate students attending the first and second terms of the Law Course at Anhanguera Educational/Atlântico Sul College in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, from March to
December 2007 and, in two specific cases, up to the beginning of 2008. The activities included curricular components of Legal Science Methodology, Legal
Anthropology and Legal Sociology. The pedagogic practice aimed to build emancipative and critical knowledge
by means of interdisciplinary and multicultural research that was able to connect academic legal knowledge to the popular and practical lore of groups and local communities, eventually providing students with a broader, more inclusive view of
law. For such it intended to modify the traditional pedagogic code of Law Courses, which is based on the Positivist Theory, by investing on flexibility of power and social control, being guided by the characteristics of the emerging paradigm according to the theorization used in the initial proposal.
A case study of qualitative approach was performed by means of semistructured interviews whose results confirmed the possibility of inverting the poles of western rationality, however small, and that of building emancipative knowledge
directed towards the autonomy of thought in students, the critical analysis of state law, and the addition of other legal rules, prepared and applied by local communities.

denotavam a
cuja inspiração eram as
mascaradas do carnaval europeu. Nesta dissertação,
analisamos as representações
ranchos e outros grupos. / [en] In the first decade of the 20th Century, Rio de Janeiro
lived through a phase
of euphoric transformation. The then capital of the
Republic gained avenues and
magnificent buildings in the desire to become a postcard
city. In this context, it
was also necessary to regenerate the metropolis from the
traditions that
disclosed the inconvenient presence of a vast part of its
population. Such conflict
was extended to the carnival, as the gaieties considered
barbaric conflicted with
the esthetic patterns of the multitudes of the grandes
sociedades, groups inspired
by the masquerades of the European Carnival. In this
dissertation, the
representations of the popular groups of the carnival of
the Carioca Belle Époque
will be analyzed through the research on the primary
source of the city´s main
daily newspapers within the first years of the 20th
Century. Via these
representations, it is possible to establish how a
dimension of ambiguity emerges
from the mediation of the popular culture produced by the
press, as well as the
discourses that legitimates the manifestation of the
cordões, ranchos and other
groups in the Carnival.

[en] THE INDIGENOUS ICONOGRAHY THOUGH A DESIGN S POINT OF VIEW: THE KAYAP S BODY ORNAMENTATION - A CASE STUDY / [pt] UM OLHAR DO DESIGN SOBRE A ICONOGRAFIA INDÍGENA: A ORNAMENTAÇÃO CORPORAL KAYAPÓ - UM ESTUDO DE CASOTAISA FIGUEIRA RODRIGUES 23 May 2007 (has links)
No
campo do design,
do outro.
investigar a apropriação
intervenção do designer junto a
Amazônia Legal, a
alteridade. / [en] The indigenous iconography is one of the most powerful
cultural icons
from our country. Its relevance becomes more and more
evident within a
globalized and ephemeral world, which searchs in local
traditions symbolic
references and original aesthetics. In the design field we
notice the increasing
presence of works based on regional motives and local
traditional handicrafts.
This dissertation proposes a reflexion about the relation
between design and the
indigenous iconography in our country, broaching the
differents forms that the
hegemonic aesthetic system encounter the popular ones, as
the indigenous. In
other words, the differents forms that each of them
appropriates the aesthetics
elements of the other. In the design s field we are
interested in investigate the
design s appropriation of the indigenous iconography as
well as, the designer s
intervention into indigenous communities. This
dissertation brings as case study,
the body ornamentation of Kayapó Indians. Among the
different relatively
isolated Indians, who inhabit the region of the Legal
Amazon nowadays, the
kayapó Indians detach themselves for their meaningful
aesthetic expression,
beauty and refinment. Their ornamentation reflects in a
formal and very synthetic
way the understanding of their cosmology, social
structure, relationship with
nature and the construction of identity.
