Corpos femininos superfície de inscrição de discursos : mídia, beleza, saúde sexual e reprodutiva, educação escolarizada...

Silva, Fabiane Ferreira da January 2007 (has links)
In this dissertation I investigate the net of discourses that inscribe the feminine bodies of women of the Solidary Movement Beehive, in the city of Rio Grande/RS, when they attended the course “Woman and Citizenship.” In this study, I take the body and the gender as inventions produced in the cultural, social and historical range, implicated in systems of significance and relationships of power. In the perspective of discussing and problematizing how certain discourses and practices inscribe different marks in the bodies, teaching habits, values, faiths, ways of self-perceiving, of being and acting as women and thinking and acting towards their own bodies, I establish some connections with the Cultural Studies and of Gender, in their post-structuralists, and with propositions of Michel Foucault. The course worked as a narrative space, in which the women participated of a process of telling and listening to accounts regarding their own lives. That strategy also aimed at destabilizing and denaturalizing the accounts told, and, eventually, to modify the meanings attributed to the body, to the gender and the sexuality for those women. Twenty women attended the course, ages ranging from 18 and 60 years old, who are in schooling process and professional qualification. Those women live below the poverty line; they ignore their social rights, many of whom oppressed within the family context, living situations of physical and/or sexual violence. The strategy of analysis consisted of “pondering” over the women's narratives about their lives, families and social relationships, their bodies, their reproductive and sexual health, their feelings, faiths and values. The analysis of the narratives made possible to understand the subject as having constituted of several social instances–as the family, the school, the media, the church, the hospital–and cultural artifacts–the TV programs, the soap operas, the magazines, the advertisements, the health campaigns, the music. It was clear in this study that the representations of feminine body produced and broadcast question and produce in the women on research, the desire to be certain way, of recognizing and of thinking in a certain way and wanting “to consume” certain products. They are also being inscribed by meanings that circulate in the campaigns focused on the prevention of diseases and promotion of health, which interfere with their personal choices, establishing how they can or they should act to live their lives in a healthier way. It was also possible to problematize the naturalized representations of gender, for instance, the presupposition that the “natural’ role of the woman is to be mother, to get married, to take care of the house, of the children and husband. Such representations were implicated in the reasons by which some of those women didn't have access to instruction or in the reasons that disabled the continuation of their instruction.

De mãe em filha: a transmissão da feminilidade / From mother to daughter: transmission of feminineness

The concepts put forward by certain psychoanalysts regarding this very intricate relationship and their effects on the continual challenge of becoming a woman and on the transmission of feminineness were investigated and analyzed. Freud s observations on the inexorable suppression that covers up the primordial relationship between mothers and their daughters were the starting point. Expressions for the nuances of the vestiges of this archaic relationship with mothers were sought; for daughters, their mothers are both the primary and the secondary objects of identification. Mothers eroticize their baby girls, leaving sensual traces for future adult enjoyment of female sexuality. In this relationship of like that engenders like, there is a potential risk of narcissistic entrapment and symbiotic illusion. Hostility between mothers and daughters was taken to be a search for psychological differentiation, which is always present to a greater or lesser extent. The passion between mother and daughter was shown firstly through the myth of Demeter and Persephone. The tragedy of Electra was dealt with as the other face of passion: hate. The conceptual framework surrounding feminineness in psychoanalysis was investigated and linked in, and the origin and development of the following concepts was explained: primary female identification (Paulo de Carvalho Ribeiro), primary homosexuality (Jacqueline Godfrind), primary female position or phase of feminineness (Melanie Klein) and primary maternalism and primary femaleness (Florence Guignard). The film Autumn Sonata by Ingmar Bergman was analyzed, focusing on the unsustainable nostalgia of meeting the mother, which was always dreamed of and never achieved. Continuing the reflections on the film, the male viewpoint and its indissociable dialectic connection with the female viewpoint is demonstrated. This coming together between female and male viewpoints brings to the fore the concept of psychological bisexuality. The different objective rules of mothers and fathers were also discussed. Two clinical constructions were presented: Zoe and Liz. Finally, the preciousness and tanatic , or the strength and vulnerability of the transmission of the feminineness from mothers to daughters were investigated / O objetivo principal desta pesquisa é fundamentar e sustentar, pela literatura psicanalítica, a existência de vicissitudes psíquicas específicas na trajetória bebê-menina- mulher.

V?rios estudos pr?vios avaliaram indiv?duos do sexo masculino. No Grupo 1, 62 (72%) participantes tinham rela??o marital est?vel, e 58 (67%) tinham vida sexual ativa (VSA).

Ocorrência de disfunção sexual entre mulheres submetidas à laqueadura tubária no município de Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo - Brasil) / Occurrence of sexual dysfunction among sterilized women in Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo - Brazil)

Pacagnella, Rodolfo de Carvalho 26 July 2007 (has links)
Introdução: Embora a contracepção seja bastante prevalente no Brasil (77%), apenas dois métodos predominam: o contraceptivo hormonal oral e a esterilização cirúrgica (LT). / Introduction: Although contraception is high prevalent in Brazil (77%), only two methods prevail: the hormonal pills and the surgical sterilization. However female sterilization is not innocuous and it can bring several consequences for those women\'s life. Among these consequences it can be to deterioration of the sexual function what is contradictory sees that the use of contraceptional methods aims at a better sexual life, less frightened by the fear of pregnancy. The present study had as objective evaluates the women\'s sexual function submitted to LT. Methods: prevalence study of 235 cases, representative of 1826, with data obtained through inquiry of the sexual function among the women sterilized by the public health system in Ribeirão Preto(SP) between 2000 and 2004. There has been used the Sexual Female Function Index (FSFI) adapted for the Brazilian context. Results: The interviewees were 35,9 years old on average and they were sterilized on average to the 33,3 years; 89,8% were in marital union, 57,9% pronounced white and 66,8%, catholic, they had on average of 6,1 years of study and 76,6% belonged to the classes C and D; 93,4% referred to have a good matrimonial relationship and 59,5% declared that the relationship didn\'t change after the procedure. The alive children\'s average was 3,2, 8,8% of the gestations resulted abortion, 71,2% resulted vaginal childbirths and 28,8%, cesarean; 52,3% used pill 6 months before the surgery; 98,7% answered to be satisfied with the surgery and 6,8% referred pelvic pain. In general, 32,5% of the women presented index scores with risk for sexual dysfunction measured by FSFI. Association was observed between the variable sexual dysfunction and education category, per capita income, pelvic pain, number of pregnancies, number of vaginal childbirths and of Cesarean. Negative correlation was observed between the score of sexual function and the number of alive children and positive correlation among the score and surrender family, per capita income and the values of economical classification. Conclusion: Starting from the obtained data, it could be observed that among the sterilized women the presence of sexual dysfunction was associated to the pelvic pain and larger number of cesarean operations, as well as linked situations to the social vulnerability (low income and education and larger number of children).

Guilherme Silva de Almeida 30 June 2005 (has links)
The academical production motivated by HIV and Aids epidemic has impelled researches related to the sexuality configurating new investigations fields, mainly about gays. However, in Brazil, its not significant the academical production which addresses to the STD vulnerability taking into an account the lesbian identity. The sexual health of women, expected to be heterosexual, was be connected to the unique preoccupation about the reproduction. Along the course of policies in terms of the attention to the womens health, even facing AIDS. In a more increasing way, considering the heterosexual female sexuality, the female homo sexual has tended, on the Brazilian society, to the invisibility toward the medical / gynaecologic speech. The epidemic contributed to this invisibility maintenance by strong beliefs in which the lesbian body would be the unique immune to the infection through the sexual via. This thesis objectives is based on the study about the change regarding the speech construction of the lesbian body since the first stages of the epidemic. More specifically, how a body that is immune to the epidemic is transformed into a vulnerable body. The hypothesis that guides this paper is centered on the idea in which the lesbian vulnerability is the passport to the affirmation / inclusion of a certain marl of identity in public policies. This way, the field in which the lesbian body dispute is drawn regarding STDs/AIDS is marked by tension between sexual practice and sexual identity.

Among all the Afro-Brazilian religions composing the religious scene in Brazil, Umbanda is the only one to be considered truly brazilian, as it originated in this country, combining elements of African religions, Catholicism, Kardecist Spiritualism, Esotericism, and South American Indian practices, among others. The Umbanda religious cult reflects a great part of the aspirations, demands, conflicts, contradictions, and perspectives of the society where it developed. Its pantheon includes two intrinsically distinct female symbols, which are equally strong and significant of the feminine condition. Yemanja, originally an African mother goddess with notable power, is a feminine model par excellence of all the Afro-Brazilian pantheon, and presents, in Umbanda, an association of various distinct attributes which engendered her complex image of mother, woman, virgin, siren and saint, making her an essentially maternal and feminine, but almost asexual, entity. On the other side, there is Pomba-gira, a female figure with strong sexual, erotic and seductive content, present in this cult as another important symbol of femininity, representing different attributes, in contrast with those represented by Yemanja. Together with Yemanja, rather than by her side, Pomba-gira assumes, in Umbanda, the condition of great female entity, composing a contradistinctive complementary model of attributes inherent to feminine sexuality. The present study seeks to comprehend what Umbanda actually proposes in terms of image or model of femininity in its cut, separating so ostensively the feminine images of mother – Yemanja – and sexed woman – Pomba-gira. We intend to identify and understand the female image currently proposed by Umbanda, starting from the comprehension of evaluative and conceptual contents present in these two mythical figures, representing the feminine condition par excellence of their pantheon; and to what extent this image is present in the everyday life of Umbandist women.

[en] This dissertation has the purpose of analyzing the consequences of the decline of the phallic logic on the psychoanalytic theory about female sexuality. Considering the rodriguean theater’s virulence and the art’s power of giving expression to the unconscious creations, we suppose Nelson Rodrigues dramaturgy may carry important contributions on the psychoanalyst knowledge improvement about female sexuality. For that, this study has taken as analysis material the plays: Senhora dos Afogados(Lady of the Drowned), Vestido de Noiva (The Wedding Dress) and A Serpente (The Serpent. Based on Psychoanalysis theoretical references, Freudian concepts of unconscious, drive, repression, Oedipus complex, early Oedipus complex, castration complex, identification e superego were fundamental to guide this investigation; as well as the drama category action. The present research was bibliographic and sought, by the plays discourse analysis, to stick to the Rodrigues writing subtlety, as a sort of discourse transmitted by words and action. Thereby, Nelson Rodrigues theater’s women showed themselves, above all, rapt by passion and voluptuousness, in name of a “want” that exceeds desire and the meeting with the object; “want” also seems to lean on the shape of “another woman”, depository of an ambivalent love par excellence.
