Lärartillvaro och historieundervisning : innebörder av ett nytt uppdrag i de mätbara resultatens tid / History teaching in the age of performativity : Swedish upper primary school teachers’ experiences of a new curriculum

Persson, Anders January 2017 (has links)
Swedish compulsory school has recently been subjected to a number of political reforms. Between 2011 and 2014, for example, earlier grades, more national tests and a new curriculum plan (Lgr 11) were to be implemented. This thesis aims to examine those changes as they were experienced by teachers who teach history in Swedish upper primary schools. The theoretical framework is in-spired by existential philosophy, primarily as formulated in the works of Martin Heidegger and Hanna Arendt. In this way, the study highlights the teachers’ lived experience by making use of the concepts yearning, appearance, acting and mood. The study comprises of 36 interviews with 26 informants. The interviews were carried out and transcribed during 2014. The questions focus on both the existential being of the teachers’ lives as well as the ideological function of the history subject. This highly renders in the issue of how lived experiences of a specific school reform corresponded to the teachers’ own perception of a mean-ingful history education. Both the yearnings that were expressed by the participants and their de-scriptions of what they have experienced, have been related to the overall educational ideological functions stated by Gert Biesta (socialisation, subjectification and qualification) and Jonas Aspelin (existentialisation). Although the teachers’ narratives were greatly varied in some aspects, their interpretations of the new assignment seemed to be quite homogenous. Most of the teachers portrayed a situation characterised by performativity. Measurable knowledge and more frequent documentation seemed to be prioritised. Some of them stressed that they experienced less autonomy. In terms of history, the new curriculum was associated with more content knowledge, cognitive skills and procedural abilities. From the teachers’ perspective, pure qualification, rather than subjectification and social-isation, characterised the new curriculum. Still, the teachers’ feelings towards the curricular changes showed a great deal of divergence. Some of them embraced most of the new aspects. They claimed that clearly formulated require-ments in the history curricula provided them with security. They declared that their history teaching to some extent became more professional. In line with such beliefs, some teachers asserted that the strengthened focus on analytical skills improved their teaching. Particularly those who ex-pressed that they preferred such analytic procedural approaches described their experience in terms of confirmation and approval. Others appeared to struggle with the changes. While a few teachers even tried to resist the curricular changes, some found themselves forced to endure what appeared to be a totally new situation. They expressed disbelief, frustration and pain. Notably it was those most devoted to the existentialisational function of history teaching that usually seemed to express such alienation. As argued, they appeared to long for a lost possibility to engage their pupils, to bring history alive and to make meaning of the past.

Angola em guerras : Jonas Savimbi e as linguagens da nação / Angola in wars : Jonas Savimbi and the languages of the nation

Oliveira, Ariel Rolim, 1986- 22 August 2018 (has links)
Orientador: Omar Ribeiro Thomaz / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-22T05:15:56Z (GMT). The political leader Jonas Savimbi has occupied a privileged observing position of the language crossings according to which the war in Angola was fought. The nexus between global and local dimensions of this conflict (the different codes of report there included), can be apprehended from the analysis of the leaders - understood, here, not as individuals, but as catalyzers of "imagined communities". I focus on the plan of the agents' strategies that, even if in relation to irreconcilable references of discourse to one another, in practice, comprehend a productive net of enmity. Therefore a dimension completely detached from models rises. The question I pose here is: in which measure the notion of "enemy" as a category of alterity on the plan of practical relations - glimpsed in the speeches of Savimbi - can help us to understand the set of disparities and multiplicity of ways of conflict that the Angolan case bears? I turn myself to the codes mobilized by each of the contenders to ascribe meaning to the fight as a condition - escaping the tenets of the models to which each one reports in this process - for us to see the war as an arena of interaction where de actors communicate or, at least, acknowledge (in the double meaning of the term) themselves to better fight. I follow the hypothesis that the war has been a practical net of violent (and never symmetrical) exchange not only of bullets, but also of names and codes between contenders who would engrave the imagery of Angola in a decisive way - a country which its more or less arbitrary borders had been a direct heritage from the Portuguese colonialism. In this sense, each part in the dispute needed to create a rival national unifying discourse. The belligerents kept a level of tacit alliance, though not expressed, around the construction e maintenance of national plausibility / Mestrado / Antropologia Social / Mestre em Antropologia Social

Politisk ledarskapsstil och partiers preferenser : En kvalitativ studie över hur politisk ledarskapsstil kan förklara förändringar i partiers strategiska överväganden

Einar, Dernegård January 2024 (has links)
The following study aims at, from an external organizational perspective, examining whether, and if so, how differences in strategic party behaviour can be explained through differences in political leadership style. To provide an answer to the research question the study adopts a qualitative approach using a theoretical thematic analysis. The study proceeds from the phenomenon of personification of politics and methodological individualism to explain the importance of examine political leadership in studying political party behaviour. In order to illuminate presumptive differences in political leadership style, the study adopts Burns (1978) theoretical distinction of transactional and transformational leadership. To also illuminate presumptive differences in strategic party preferences, the study moreover adopts Müller & Strøm’s (1999) conceptual framework of party goal theory. The theoretical framework is empirically applied to the party leadership of the Swedish Left-party during the government formation in January 2019 and the following government crisis in the summer of 2021. This enables the study to examine two different party leaders since the party changed their leader in the mid of the term of office. The study demonstrates differences in the party’s strategic behaviour in relation to the government formation and the following government crisis, which stems from changes in the party’s ambition of office-seeking. Furthermore, the study also demonstrates differences in the leadership styles that are exercised by the different party leaders from the theoretical application of transactional and transformational leadership. The study suggests that these findings are interrelated, meaning that the exercise of a certain leadership style will also imply differences in party behaviour.

ONTIÑANO ABADÍAS, MARÍA CARMEN 07 April 2014 (has links)

Noël, Martin 11 April 2018 (has links)

The aim is to analyze how Mekas?s work contributes to an understanding of the diary as a narrative form, and how the author constructs his process of self-representation by means of the diaries. This work seeks to establish a definition for the diary, by means of theoretical references related to the spheres of literature (Braud, 2006; Simonet-Tenant, 2004; Girard, 1986; Lejeune, 2015; Blanchot, 2005) and of audiovisual work (James, 2013; Renov, 1996). As object of study, we analyze the book I had nowhere to go (1991), the diary-films Lost Lost Lost (1976), Walden ? Diaries, Sketches & Notes (1969), Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania (1972), and video diaries from the 365 Day Project (2007). This thesis takes weavings (Daney, 2007; Benjamin, 1994) and rends (Daney, 2007; Didi-Huberman, 2014, 2015) as its methodology, grounding itself on the way in which Mekas elaborates his narrative choices and his historical condition. We conclude that Mekas?s work points to an understanding of the diary not solely as literary genre, but as a narrative that affirms itself in a plurality of forms, following the shifts done by the author in his relation to time, space, and the use of different technical devices. We also conclude that Mekas, in his diaries, builds an intrinsic relation between narrating the lived and living the narrated, which reveals how the diaries not only document a certain socio-historical context, but are also themselves part of that context and of the subjectivity built by their author. Como objetos de estudo, s?o analisados o livro I had nowhere to go (1991), os filmes-di?rio Lost Lost Lost (1976), Walden ?

[en] The present work investigates the theological-political thought of Johann Baptist Metz in dialogue with 20th century Jewish philosophers, emphasizing the subversive memory of the victims as a common criterion of authority. It grounds the search for the transformation of unjust social structures in return to Judeo-Christian traditions. In harmony with the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, embracing the project of God s Kingdom for peace in the world. Converging points include Otherness, Unlimited Responsibility, the Face of the Other, the dialogue of Self and Thou, Prophetic Language, and peace-engaged politics. The thesis is divided into three parts: the author s biography, the Theology of the World, unlimited time, history, and humanity s relationship with God; the praxis of Fundamental Theology, hermeneutical change, and its theological effectiveness. The second section presents thinkers of Jewish origin who suffered under Nazi persecution: Abraham Heschel, Emmanuel Levinas, Hans Jonas, and Martin Buber, relating their experiences and theological and philosophical contributions. The final part addresses the silence of God, the authority of the victim, human suffering, anamnesis in Christianity, narrative didactics, compassion, and Christianity s responsibility in the Shoah. The thesis aims to emphasize the dialogue among these authors, recognizing the relevance of their contributions to bringing Judaism and Christianity closer together and reflecting on unjust issues in society. It is hoped that this work will spark interest in Metz s thought and his contributions to Latin American and global theology, encouraging reflections on important and often overlooked questions.

A Diadem and its Iconography : A Study of Empress Josephine’s Pearl and Cameo Diadem in Portraits between 1812 and 2010

af Klinteberg, Kristina January 2021 (has links)
The main purpose of this study of a pearl and cameo diadem, given by Napoleon to his first wife Josephine in 1809, is to follow its representation in portraiture from Paris in 1812 to Stockholm in 2010, and explore how the iconography develops during these 200 years. From the earlier years, the diadem is found only in miniatures, then after coming to the new royal family in Sweden, the Bernadottes, it is given a role of an heirloom representing history and families in grand paintings, arriving to the present well-known wedding hairpiece, covered by modern media, where the diadem is more of a crown than the open, forehead-covering piece of fashion jewellery it was during the Napoleonic era in France. The portraits from 1812, 1814, 1836, 1837, 1877, 1976, 2000/2003 and 2010 also portray a development of the female role model of its time. Just like the hair piece attains an iconography which comprises not only the highest dress codes but also a possibility of status transformation for the people involved in ceremony, the role of the country’s First Lady is about to change into a higher, more egalitarian position of present days.
