<p>Syftet med vår studie är att undersöka lärares syn på skolbiblioteket och dess funktion samt om samverkan mellan lärare och skolbibliotekarie sker. Vi vill även undersöka om man kan se något samband mellan de ämnen läraren undervisar i och hur de använder skolbiblioteket.</p><p>Våra frågeställningar är följande:</p><p>• Hur ser lärare på skolbibliotekets roll i den pedagogiska verksamheten?</p><p>• Samverkar lärare och skolbibliotekarier?</p><p>• Kan man se något samband mellan de ämnen läraren undervisar i och hur de använder skolbiblioteket?</p><p>För att få svar på våra frågor har vi utfört en enkätundersökning med öppna frågor på två skolor med lärare som undervisar i år 2–6. Vi lämnade ut 50 enkäter varav 36 besvarades, detta gav en svarsfrekvens på 72 %.</p><p>Resultatet visar att lärarna i vår studie generellt ser skolbiblioteket som en mycket viktig del i skolans verksamhet. Resultatet visar även att de som undervisar i svenska använder mycket skönlitteratur, de som undervisar i samhällsorienterade och naturorienterade ämnen använder mest facklitteratur. Skolbibliotekariens roll ses som viktig och betydelsefull, samarbetet med skolbibliotekarien påverkar synen av skolbiblioteket och är en avgörande faktor för hur det används.</p>

This two year masters thesis is written in the scientific field of library- and information science. The purpose of the study is to investigate the collaboration between teachers and librarians in different types of school library organisations. Two school libraries with only the school as a target group, two integrated public- and school libraries, one school library division and one public library that provides the school with school library services has been studied. The study takes place in Uppland. The theoretical framework used is based on Montiel-Overall and her four models of collaboration: coordina-tion, cooperation, integrated instruction and integrated curriculum. The first research question focuses on the col-laboration between teachers and librarians based on each of the TLC-models. The second research question goes into factors that limit collaboration between librarians and teachers. The methods used are qualitative text analysis and qualitative interviews. The main focus is on the interviews. The study is based on the librarians point of view. The interviews and the text analysis are analysed together under six different subject fields based on the research questions. Collaboration takes place largely within the models A (coordination) and B (cooperation). Some collabora-tions conducted in the school library organisations has however components from model C (integrated instruc-tion). It is less common with deeper forms of collaborations in the result of this study. A lack of resources like time has been observed that limits the collaboration between teachers and librarians. The collaboration between teachers and librarians need to be emphasized and prioritized.

Läslust är viktigt för att skapa skickliga och intresserade läsare. Syftet med denna uppsats är att komma fram till hur lärare samt skolbibliotekarier arbetar för att främja läslust i årskurs 1-3. För att ta reda på detta utfördes fem kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer. De intervjuade var två klasslärare i grundskolans lägre år samt tre skolbibliotekarier, totalt arbetade dessa aktörer på  10 skolor. Resultatet visar att det finns flera olika metoder för att främja läslust. Den viktigaste faktorn för främjandet av läslust visade sig vara människor runt omkring eleven som lärare, skolbibliotekarier samt andra vuxna förebilder. De viktigaste momentet visade sig vara bokvalet. Ytterligare viktiga punkter för att främja läslust var högläsning och bokprat. För att främja läslust krävs således en engagerad förebild som sprider positiva känslor kring läsning och handleder eleven vidare i sin läsning.

The purpose of this study was to examine school librarians’ external monitoring and cooperation and collaboration with teachers, in order to describe it and examine its significance for the relevance to the profession of librarians. The purpose was also to interpret the meaning of the external monitoring, cooperation and collaboration from a professional perspective. For this we used semi structured interviews and qualitative content analysis. The analysis was based on theory on professions (Nolin, 2008) about lifelong vocational training, cooperation and collaboration. The profession perspective explains problems, difficulties and opportunities that can be seen in school librarians external monitoring and when professions cooperate and collaborate. Our conclusion is that external monitoring is part of the lifelong vocational training and can be seen as a strategy together with cooperation and collaboration with teachers to strengthen, develop and change school librarians knowledge and jurisdiction. The study shows that external monitoring is dependent on cooperation and collaboration with teachers and the other way around. Depending on how developed these strategies are, this will affect both their influence on school library practice and the profession.

Tidigare forskning visar att ett välfungerande och välintegrerat skolbibliotek har positiv effekt på elevers lärande. Trots detta saknas ett produktivt samarbete på flera svenska skolor. I och med nya direktiv från regeringen och insatser från intresseorganisationer håller situationen emellertid på att förändras. Denna studie undersöker tre svensklärares och två skolbibliotekariers uppfattningar om sitt pedagogiska samarbete och belyser vilka uppfattningar som gynnar respektive motverkar ett förtjänstfullt samarbete.  Studiens deltagare arbetar på två olika gymnasieskolor, varav den ena har fått utmärkelser för sitt skolbiblioteks pedagogiska arbete. Studien tar sin utgångspunkt i fenomenografisk teoribildning (vars syfte är att belysa variationen av uppfattningar som finns om ett visst fenomen) och beskriver kvalitativt vilka uppfattningar som finns bland studiens deltagare. I uppsatsen återfinns även en jämförelse av uppfattningarna i fråga om yrkesgrupp och arbetsplats. Yrkesgruppernas uppfattningar skiljer sig åt. Skolbibliotekarierna har mycket större kunskap om samarbetets pedagogiska potential. Den mest signifikanta skillnaden är dock sinsemellan svensklärarna. Den lärare som arbetar på skolan som fått utmärkelser för sitt skolbibliotek använder skolbiblioteket i betydligt högre utsträckning, har positivare uppfattningar om samarbetet och har en mer mångfacetterad bild av samarbetes pedagogiska vinster. Utifrån de uppfattningar som framkommit diskuteras avslutningsvis vilka faktorer som gynnar ett framgångsrikt samarbete. God organisation, respekt för varandras kompetenser och positiv inställning till och kunskap om samarbetets möjligheter är enligt denna studie oumbärliga komponenter. På arbetsplatser där direktiven om skolbibliotekets pedagogiska uppdrag saknar förankring (vilket är fallet på en utav de undersökta skolorna) är det emellertid svårt att anamma ett sådant synsätt. Makten att förändra situationen ligger därför i skolledningens händer.

Syftet med studien är att diskutera och jämföra skolbibliotek och hur dessa används av svensklärare i F−3. Vi har valt att göra en metodtriangulering där vi undersökt skolbibliotekets funktion och användning. Detta genom att observera fyra skolbibliotek i Mellansverige, intervjua rektorerna samt utföra enkäter med skolans F−3-lärare som undervisar i ämnet svenska. Resultatet visade att samtliga rektorer anser att skolbiblioteken är viktiga. Det var en stor variation mellan lärarna huruvida de anser att skolbiblioteket är en viktig resurs eller inte samt hur de använder sig av skolbiblioteket i sin svenskundervisning.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to explore how librarians in public schools in Sweden works with the informations literacy of their pupils. The study is done with semistructured interviews conducted with seven school librarians and with help from previous research done on this subject. Focus is also put to the relationship between teacher and librarian when educating elemantary school student about informationseeking and proper source critisism. We also take a further stand by examing how the librarians worked with the digital literacy of their students and what their main challenges and problems are when they are teaching students about searching for informations online. The thesis are built upon the research of Louise Limberg and Lena Folkesson, among others in this field. Our results show that the school librarians struggled. to a large degree with collaborating with the teachers. According to our interviewess they often have to be very asservite in order to schedule lessons in information seeking. There also seemed to be an uncertainty among the teachers as to what the school librarians role in the education system is. The interviewed librarians also found the decreasing ability of information seeking among the students to be a problem in their work.

Denna studie syftar till att undersöka uppfattningar bland svensklärare med skolbilioteksansvar om hur skolbiblioteket kan påverka elevernas läslust. Tidigare forskning visar att skolbiblioteket är en verksamhet som har goda effekter på elevernas läslust men att det alltför ofta inte används ändamålsenligt. I denna studie har sex stycken svensklärare med ansvar för skolans bibliotek intervjuats för att ge sin bild på hur skolbibliotekets verksamhet kan användas i syfte att främja elevernas läslust. Intervjuernas resultat har analyserats mot bakgrund av den sociokulturella lärandeteorin och Chambers litteraturdidaktiska modell. Studien visar på att om skolbiblioteken hade använts ändamålsenligt och med en skolbibliotekarie närvarande hade de möjligheter som kommer med ett skolbibliotek nått sin fulla potential. Få av de svensklärare med biblioteksansvar som studien omfattar anser att skolbibliotek i dagens skola kan erbjuda detta och elevernas läslust riskerar därmed att möta hinder.

The central theme of this study is the school library and how teacher students' view the integration of the library in teaching. Previous research has shown that the teacher programs lack education and knowledge on how to practically make us of the library. The purpose of this study is to investigate what perceptions and experiences future teachers have about the library's function and how they view the integration of the library in their teaching after graduation. To investigate the teacher students' perceptions and experiences, a qualitative analysis was made using semi-structured interviews at one university in Sweden including five primary school teachers and five subject teachers. This study is based on Loertscher's Teacher Taxonomy. One conclusion drawn was that the parents' approach to the library is more decisive than the informants' experiences from their schooling. The teacher students with parents that would read and often bring them to the library are more likely to make use of the library themselves in their future profession. The results show that most teacher students will use the library mainly in the Swedish subject. Furthermore, the results also concluded that the subject teachers in the study more frequently would use the library as a second classroom, a place for the pupil to study individually, or a place for having meetings. Many of the teacher students have good opportunities for future collaboration with the library, what tends to affect the usage is ignorance, the workplace, and the teacher students' previous experiences.

Swedish school librarians work within a complex structure of differing forms of employment, conditions and legitimacy of their profession. In the public enquiry into Swedish school libraries, Skolbibliotek för bildning och utbildning(SOU 2021:3), new legislations regulating the school libraries are proposed to guarantee staffing. The aim is to increase equality in access to staffed school libraries among Swedish elementary and high school pupils. Today many schools arrange staffing of their school libraries in conjunction with the local public library. This type of solution has, in smaller studies and surveys, shown to increase the risk of conflicts and confusion regarding responsibilities and work tasks. As a result of the new legislations proposed in the public enquiry of school libraries, an increase in cooperation between schools and public libraries is expected. This essay explores how different employers describe work tasks and conditions in job vacancies for school librarians to detect and analyse any differences. The results indicate discrepancies in how school librarian positions are described. Vacancies for school librarian positions entirely located within the school organization are described with emphasis on working tasks and conditions. Vacancies for positions for school librarians with split service between schools and public libraries show greater emphasis on personal qualities. This indicates that the profession might gain in legitimacy if school librarians are employed by schools rather than in split employment and further supports the principal as preferred employer.
