Socioekonomiska dimensioner avhållbar utveckling : En kvalitativ dokumentstudie av Agenda 2030

Alring, Mahisha January 2023 (has links)
FN:s originaldokument för Agenda 2030 Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, var den enda källan studien utgick ifrån. / <p>Betyg i Ladok 240613.</p>

Gender as Subject of Aid : A Multimodal Critical Discourse Analysis of Beneficiary Representations by the Swedish Red Cross on Instagram

Väpnare, Maja January 2024 (has links)
This study aims to explore how the Swedish Red Cross’s work for gender equality in light of Agenda 2030 is reflected in representations of beneficiaries in Instagram communication. It also aims to understand how representations of beneficiaries are produced and reproduced concerning gender, stereotypes, and power relations. The research questions that are used to reach the aim are ‘How is Agenda 2030 focusing on gender present in the representations of beneficiaries in the Swedish Red Cross’s communication on Instagram?’, and ‘How do representations of beneficiaries contribute to stereotyping, feminization, and de-masculinization of the MajorityWorld?’. Based on a qualitative interpretative approach and multimodal critical discourse analysis, visual and textual content in posts from the national Instagram account of the Swedish Red Cross have been collected and analyzed through the theoretical framework of representation theory and postcolonial theory. The findings show that the most prominent beneficiary groups represented in terms of gender are women and children, which aligns with stereotypical and colonial narratives that infantilize and feminize the Majority World. This study further shows that the commitment to the global goals of gender equality and the Swedish national identity as a gender equality promoter is insufficient to deconstruct colonial discourses in INGO communication.

Volontärturism - En väg till utveckling eller undergång? : En kvallitativ studie om hur svenska volontärresebyråers projekt anknyter till Agenda 2030 / Volunteer Tourism - A Road to Development or Despair? : A qualitative study on how projects from Swedish volunteer travel agencies relate to the Sustainable Development Goals

Olsson, Erika, Holm, Jennifer January 2019 (has links)
The sustainable development goals, published in 2015, were created as a global effort to increase sustainable social, economic and environmental development. In documents published in 2018 from the UN, relevant actors are encouraged to incorporate more voluntary work on different levels of society, in order to establish a local anchoring for the 17 goals with its’ 169 sub-targets. One kind of non-profit work that has gained popularity in the last 20 years are the so-called volunteer travels, where tourists, often young Westerners, travel in order to help out in developing countries, in combination with leisure activities. In this study, descriptions of projects that are offered by Swedish volunteer- travel agencies have been examined as to how they relate to the Sustainable Development Goals, along with how different publications from the UN on how volunteerism and sustainable tourism can be understood in regard to commercial volunteer tourism. Here, four Swedish volunteer tourist agencies have been examined and compared to the sub-targets for the Sustainable Development Goals, also known as Agenda 2030. The method used is a qualitative content analysis of the project descriptions found on the web pages of the volunteer tourist agencies. The Human Rights Based Approach has been used to analyse the data in order to investigate in what way the project descriptions can be seen as rights based. The result shows that volunteer tourism primarily is related to development goals concerning education and biological diversity, through English classes and care of animals and nature. The established projects that are available often cannot guarantee the quality of the efforts being made and do not seem to incorporate an awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals. The activity can therefore be seen as addressing the effects of structural problems, rather than a solution of the underlying causes of the problems. A possible improvement that is suggested for volunteer tourism to contribute more to a road to development, is to more emphasize the connection between projects in volunteer tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals, mainly through knowledge sharing.

Hållbarhetsarbete inom svensk besöksnäring : En kvalitativ studie om hur svenska turistdestinationer på landsbygden arbetar mot hållbar utveckling i relation till Agenda 2030 / Sustainability work within the swedish tourism industry

Hübsch, Elina, Martinez Martinez, Paula January 2019 (has links)

How socially responsible are SMEs in Vietnam? : - A qualitative study

Brunosson, Malin, Malmsten, Emma January 2020 (has links)
Introduction: Vietnam is a developing country that has had rapid economic growth during the last 25-30 years. Alongside, the waste and pollution of the country has increased where both the economy and pollution is expected to grow even further in the upcoming years. Simultaneously is the challenge of protecting the environment, especially for businesses to take responsibility through implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in their business. Furthermore, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) make up 90% of the businesses in the world and therefore have great influence. CSR is well researched in developed countries, but the developing countries are as important in the work towards sustainable development, where specifically SMEs in developing countries are not as researched. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to explore the implementation of CSR activities of SMEs in Vietnam as a developing country. Research questions: How is CSR perceived by SMEs in Vietnam? How do SMEs in Vietnam engage in CSR activities? What are the reasons behind SMEs engagement in CSR activities in Vietnam? Methodology: The methodological approach of this research was based on a qualitative nature with an ontological perspective. Furthermore, the sample consisted of five SMEs in Vietnam and data was gathered through email-interviews. Conclusion: It was found that SMEs in Vietnam do have a somewhat clear perception of what CSR involves and that the SMEs engage in several CSR activities. Although, vague regulations and guidance from the government, alongside with scarce financial resources makes it more challenging for the SMEs in Vietnam to engage in CSR activities.

Agenda 2030, Sveriges miljömål och energieffektiva byggnader : En studie om hur Agenda 2030 och byggnadsteknik kan bidra till att nå Sveriges miljömål / Energy efficient buildings, the 2030 Agenda and the Swedish environmental goal system

Olsson, Emma, Stenemo, Erik January 2020 (has links)
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015. Since then, the Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has become a broad framework for sustainable development. In Sweden, the ecological dimension of the 2030 Agenda is represented by the national environmental goal system, which the environmental quality objectives (EQOs) are an integral part of. Currently only one of the EQOs is reached. However, since the 2030 Agenda is experiencing a global momentum, it may be used to increase the pace in the work towards the EQOs.  This study aims to examine how the 2030 Agenda can be used as a tool for working towards the Swedish environmental goal system. This is done through an actor analysis based on literature studies and qualitative interviews, where the work towards the Agenda and the national environmental goals in different sectors is analyzed. In addition to the actor analysis, a case study is conducted to investigate how energy efficient buildings can contribute to reaching SDG 11 and the EQOs Reduced climate impact and A Good Built Environment. The case study concerns the office building Trikåfabriken in Stockholm’s Hammarby Sjöstad district. Trikåfabriken’s energy use is analyzed through the software VIP-Energy, and further energy efficiency measures are evaluated. These include adding more solar panels to the roof, increasing the solar protection on windows and decreasing the activity in the building. The results show that most studied actors work with the 2030 Agenda to some extent, but few outside of the public sector are actively working with the EQOs. There is however a consensus that the Agenda correlates with the EQOs. The case study shows that Trikåfabriken contributes to reaching SDG 11 and the EQOs Reduced climate impact and A Good Built Environment due to its design and embedded technologies. Regarding further energy efficiency measures, the results show that a reduced activity would lead to a higher energy use, whereas the two other measures would reduce it.

Hell, Sanna, Åkermark, Hanna January 2021 (has links)
All children should be safe when walking to or from school as well as around the school area. When there is a constructions site near the school or in close connection to the schoolyard therecan be significant problems with safety. This bachelor thesis is written to makesure that children feel safe and comfortable around the school premises regardless of anew school building being built or renovations of an old one is taking place. This thesis is being written for Enköpings municipality but is applicable to all municipalities in Sweden. This work proceeds from the construction of Nya Westerlundska gymnasiet which isan upper secondary school that is being planned and build during the time of this study. The 2030 Agenda that contains goals from the United Nations(UN) amongst Quality Education is being discussed together with goals from the EuropeanUnion, Sweden and Enköping. It is important that the education keep the same quality even if there is a construction site in the area, hence why the question about childrens safty around construction sites is important. The work has partly been executed by comparing administrative regulations from previously built schools in the municipality to see what the requirements have been before concerning children’s safety. People that have been working with similar projects and with Westerlundska was interviewed.Thenceforth the interviews were compared with the administrative regulations and recommendations for future projects where made. The conclusion where that Enköpings municipality have made many good safety measurements regarding construction projects around schoolchildren. In the future the municipality can make similar requirements andjust adding a few for specifics. The municipality will not be hindered by Swedish law to do so. It also became clear that cooperation and direct communication between the school, the construction site and the municipality is of the utmost importance.

Moosberg, Hans, Strömberg, Emelie January 2021 (has links)
Purpose: The study aims to examine how real estate companies have implemented, and how they report on, ther work with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in their sustainability report. Theory: The study is based on the theory of legitimacy, the stakeholder theory, the signal theory and the neo-institutional theory. Method: The study was conducted with a qualitative method through content analysis of companies’ sustainability reports. The study adopted a deductive approach by building on previous research. The sample consisted of Swedish listed real estate companies that report according to GRI. The measurement of implementation was based on Schramades 4 phases of implementation. Result: 100% of the companies studied have implemented the SDGs in their sustainability report. The majority report their work only in the sustainability section. The average phase of implementation the companies are in is 2.7 out of 4. All companies prioritized goal 7 closely followed by goal 11 and 8. The companies reported on average 8,3 of the SDGs. Conclusion: The companies have an interest in presenting their work with the SDGs, but they are not fully implemented in the companies sustainability reports. As the majority of the companies are in phase 2, where they only include Agenda 2030 and the SDGs in their accounts and do not report measurably on their contribution, this indicated that there is a greater interest in making stakeholders and society happy and seem legitimate than t actually contribute to fulfillment, The study’s conclusions support previous research and contribute to the confirmation of the signal theory.

The implementation of Agenda 2030 at municipal level : A qualitative study about officials’ experiences of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals

Talavera, Jhonny January 2020 (has links)
Background: Agenda 2030 is newly launched, thus little research has been conducted about the implementation at the municipal level. To increase the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) feasibility requires understanding which elements can facilitate the policy implementation process with the goal of healthy and sustainable societies. Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate the officials’ experiences of implementing the Agenda 2030 at the municipal level. Methods: A qualitative method with an inductive approach was used to address the study aim. A purposive sampling of participants was conducted, and a semi-structured interview was used as the data collection method. In total, ten informants from ten different municipalities participated. A manifest content analysis was conducted to analyze the collected data. Result: The implementation strategies that were used for mobilizing the community to achieve the Agenda 2030 could be divided into internal and external strategies. The internal strategies focused on knowledge enhancing activities and the integration of the SDGs into municipal existing steering documents. The external strategies focused on establishing partnerships and involving the local citizen in the community development. Conclusion: The experiences of the officials indicated that health promotion approaches, and the guiding principles can be valuable tools for municipalities to facilitate the policy implementation process related to Agenda 2030.

What is the Problem of Sustainability? : A Review of the municipality of Malmö’s Environmental Programme 2019-2020

Hyltén-Cavallius, Gorm January 2020 (has links)
In 2015 every member of the United Nations accepted Agenda 2030, a guideline for sustainable development with the aim of keeping the temperature from rising above two degrees Celsius. However, it’s still not clear what it seeks to sustain, and the logic behind the concept remains elusive. This thesis aims to examine the meaning behind environmental sustainability by investigating how Agenda 2030 is interpreted by urban planners in Malmö, through analysing the problematisations made in the environmental programme for environmental sustainability in Malmö. The analysis relies on the idea that a policy is created in order to solve a problem. By examining what is seen as a problem the underlying logic of the policies will be discerned. By examining the problematisations of the environmental programme of the municipality of Malmö between 2019-2020 the research will elucidate what environmental sustainability means in the context of Malmö, Sweden. The research showed that the municipality wishes to make optimal use of environmental sustainability as a tool for social, economic and environmental development through changed behaviour of businesses, staff at Malmö Stad, and its citizens. The municipality’s environmental programme implies that unsustainability stems from lack of knowledge, which causes people to make unsustainable choices. Environmental sustainability, as presented, by the municipality of Malmö’s policy document to be about optimising and increasing the environment’s beneficial effects for humans.
