Engman, Helena January 2007 (has links)
<p>The challenge for any teacher in physical education lies within being able to stimulate students who do no like physical activities or for some other reason decides not to participate. The aim of this study was to examine factors within physical education that could be the reason for students not participating and what could be done better in order to stimulate the less motivated. The study is based on interviews with ten students that went to school in two different counties. They did not consider their level of interest in sports to be influenced by their family or friends. They pointed out other factors that had been the reason for them failing Physical education. The results show that the students, mainly the girls, felt that the problem was within the corriculum, not in the syllabus. For the most part they wanted more variaty, strenght training and also a different kind of group formation. Girls also prefered more individual sports, such as different kinds of dances over too much ballgames. The students wanted the subject to teach them more about things they could benefit from in the future. The conclusion was that it would be good for the students to be divided into groups that have the same aims and interests, if possible. The teacher had a big responsibility as well as the time-schedules.</p>

Måste jag tävla på idrotten i skolan?

Arnesson, Carolina January 2012 (has links)
It has been the men's playground for so long” : A qualitative interview study from a gender perspective about ice hockey clubs work to create public interest in women's ice hockey

Flennersjö, Linn January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the work of ice hockey clubs work to create audience interest in women's ice hockey from a gender perspective. This study also aimed to investigate two different perspectives. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with representatives of different clubs and their organized fan clubs. The results were analyzed in a gender perspective where the mainstarting point was Coakley's orthodox gender ideology with a main approach of male-dominated, male identified and male-centered point of view. A thematic analysis was used to process the material from the interviews. The study found that the clubs aimed to improve women's ice hockey and create value for the audience. However, traditional views of gender negatively affected the respondents' views on female ice hockey and players, often comparing them to male ice hockey players. The respondents also believed that it will be difficult to be equal because of men's hockey culture and history. The study concludes that traditional gender views consciously and unconsciously affect women's activities.

Föreningsidrottens preventiva påverkan : En kvalitativ studie om föreningsidrottens preventiva påverkan på ungdomar i riskzon / The Preventive impact of club sports : A qualitative study on the preventive impact of club sports on young people at risk

Bengtsson, Olle January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to understand how leaders and coaches in club sports experience sport as a possible preventive measure for young people who are at risk of criminal or other socially degrading behaviour and to explore what experiences they have with club sports as a possible preventive measure. Based on this purpose, two questions were asked: What experiences do leaders and coaches of club sports have from using sports as a preventive measure for young people who are at risk of criminal or other socially degrading behaviour? And what advantages and disadvantages do leaders and coaches of club sports experience with sports as a possible preventive measure for young people who are at risk of criminal or other socially degrading behaviour? A qualitative method with interviews was used and the study used a hermeneutic approach. Ten people who are active as leaders or coaches in club sports were interviewed. As a theoretical basis, socialization theory and primarily the concept of secondary socialization were used in this study. The study shows that the respondents, based on their experiences believe that club sports can have a preventive effect for young people who are at risk. Among other things, it is described that there is a natural education and learning process within the clubs that teaches norms and values that young people can benefit from. Some of the advantages highlighted were, among other things, the discipline that comes from being part of a sport club. Furthermore, the health benefits can have a preventive effect to avoid falling into crime. The disadvantages which the respondents saw were partly that there are unserious clubs that could have a negative effect on young people. The risk that young people developed poorer self-esteem as a result of participating in club sports was also highlighted as a disadvantage.

: En studie om äldre aktiva i gåfotboll och innebandy+ / Physical literacy through team sport – the way to lifelong sport participation? : A study about elderly active in walking football and floorball

Rönnblad, Jenny January 2023 (has links)
Globally the population is aging as well as the physical inactivity increases. This creates several problemsboth for societies and individuals. A part of the problem of physical inactivity is the lack of options ofphysical activity for elderly. Beyond the physical inactivity elderly also tend to experience loneliness which can be antagonized with participation in a sport club. As a response to the problem the Swedish Football Association and the Swedish Floorball Association has ongoing work where the sport is adaptedfor elderly. The aim of the study is to examine physical active elderly’s physical literacy through adapted team sport for elderly. Therefore, it’s questioned what makes participation in the adapted team sports meaningful for elderly. Also, it’s questioned what they would think about introducing competition in the adapted team sport as well as what the differences between the two sports are. This was examined through focus groups, which included 27 elderly women and men with an age over 62 years active in team sports in different parts of Sweden. As a help to understand the complexity of what’s important to create lifelong sport participation among elderly a theoretically framework has been used. The framework is physical literacy which initiates to approach physical activity with a more holistic perspective. The result shows small differences between the sports and that the participators seem to be a homogenous group. They mainly thought that the physical activity in combination with the fellowshipmade participation in adapted team sport meaningful. It also showed that elderly that participated in the sports evolved their physical literacy, which means that adapted team sports might be the way to lifelong sport participation among elderly.

Barnidrott och föreningsavgifter : En studie om föreningslivet, ideellt arbete och avgift / Sports for children and compounds fees

Mohamed, Ahmed January 2019 (has links)
Sports club fees keep increasing among members and participants in Sweden, as an effect of proffesionalization and commersialization. When the Swedish National Sports Association abolished the amateur rules in 1967, the state and the market gained more possibilities to affect the Swedish sports movement. Sports should be a platform where children and young adults can spend time and grow as individuals as well as develop an interest for a healthy lifestyle. Nowadays, the proffesionalism and commercialism causes many young athletes to quit exercising sports. Multi-faceted sports are an essential part of keeping children in the sports movement, as well as creating a lifelong interest in sports. The purpose of this study was to investigate the club of Gimonäs Umeå IF in Sweden, to see what thoughts and experiences seemed frequent regarding club fees, also investigate if the parents are happy with the content how the fees were being used. To summarize, the parents were generally pleased with the fees being taken although some were miss content since they had preferred lower fees. The clubs, on the other hand, were disappointed with the contribution from the state and the county.

Akademiskt ledarskap : Studenters upplevelser av ledarskap och dess innebörd inom en idrottslärarutbildning / Academic Leadership : Students´experiences of leadership and its meaning within a physical and health teacher education

Starby, Jacob, Nurmela, Filip January 2023 (has links)
Teachers are one of the most important school-related factors regarding students' academic learning. Academic leadership within the teaching profession has an essential part in students' school results according to previousresearch. Knowledgeofleadership, anditsmeaning, createstheneed to acquire more knowledge about how academic leadership is educated in a PE teacher education. This study's purpose was to investigate PE student teachers ́ experiences about what knowledges, and its meaning, of leadership has been acquired and is missing in the PE education. Qualitative interview study was the research method which includes a semi-structured interview guide and there were seven interviews conducted in this study. After the implementation of the interviews a thematic content analysis was conducted of the participants' responses that generated identification of themes and categories that answered the study's purpose and questions. The result of the study was that acquired knowledge in leadership within the PE teacher education are professional knowledge, didactics and outdoor education. It appeared in the results that knowledge in leadership that is missing in the PE teacher education are interpersonal skills, intrapersonal skills, binding of skills and dedication. The conclusion of this study explains that knowledge of leadership, and its meaning, needs to be included in future research within two different levels: institutional level and teaching level.
