Martins, Marisângela Terezinha Antunes January 2007 (has links)
The dissertation presented here talks a history about the communist militants from Porto Alegre during the biggest period the Communist Brazil´s Party legally acts (1945-1947). The research´s aim is to show the representations those agents produced in respect of democracy – hailed all over the world – taking as reference the papers Correio do Povo, Diário de Notícias, Tribuna Gaúcha and Libertação, Political Police´s reports, some Party´s official documents, the Legislative Assemble of Rio Grande do Sul´s accounts and, beyond these, interviews and memories. The testimony´s interpretation here offered was guided by concepts like “experience space”, “horizon of expectations” and “representation” and its results are displayed into two parts that try to show the inflection between euphoria and deception. In the first part of these, dedicated entirely to the year of 1945, the representation’s meanings have their origins in the unmeasured enthusiasm caused by all possibilities of legal activity allowed by political aperture, being characterized by a high social bias and by expectations too positives. In the second, concerned the following two years, the representations faced to subtle and crucial issues in respect of the activism´s future, being developed at the same time with the re-emergence of an anti-democratic past and being expressed by metaphors highly negatives although the hope of a future were not lost absolutely.

Multi-situate experiences: between trans courses and activism: what narrative, what citizenship is this?

This work brings in its body, theoretical and ethnographic discussions about the universe of educational policies, non-formal education and its consequences and implications in the field of militancy and political activism of transpeople. I situate the context of public educational policies for transpeople and the transvestite and transsexual movement, such analysis of an institutional level and confronted with as multi-situational experiences and interpretations, which are analyzed by queer theory and other poststructuralist contributions. I relate how the space of politics and claim have been constituted in Uberaba, as well as the gender and sexuality guidelines, although it is not a recognized political policy. On the other hand, "Trans Cursinhos", which through their actions constitute a political space for transpeople, which guarantee new forms of existence and conceptualize other modes of accessing to citizenship. Thus, when addressing political experiences which are built beyond an institutionalized plan, through "doing politics" or the courses, I operate a few shifts about what is doing politics and how they weave themselves into negotiations and confrontations. This is a work about endurance, about abject lives, which have been excluded and how these lives have been resisted and invented in their own way of breathing and inspiration possibilities

As disputas em torno de direitos como um processo educativo: um estudo de caso sobre a ocupação \"Novo Pinheirinho\" de Embu das Artes, SP / The disputes around rights as an educational process: a case study on the occupation \"Novo Pinheirinho\" of Embu das Artes, SP

Renato Macedo de Almeida 22 June 2017 (has links)
The main objective of this research is to analyze the educational processes involved in the struggle for social or political rights, more specifically, the processes of socialization and formation related to political engagement in the so-called \"collective causes\". We believe that political engagement in collective causes is related to two different and at the same time \"intertwined\" educational dimensions: on the one hand, the way in which the subjects were socialized is the basis of the conditions of possibility of the emergence of political militancy, Who would be able to form certain dispositions that would lead to political militancy or, at least, to \"belief\" in collective organization as a mechanism for coping with collective problems as well. On the other hand, in the interior of the movements of political character, different educational processes are developed, of formation and resocialization of the militants. Thus, in order to analyze such educational dimensions, this research will take as the object of study the dispute between the Movement of the Homeless Workers (MTST) and the Ecological Society Friends of Embu (SEAE) around an Environmental Protection Area) Located in the municipality of Embu das Artes. This conflict began in 2012, focusing on the dispute over the different \"uses\" that could be made of this terrain, more specifically, the dispute between two concrete proposals: MTST claimed the preservation of a section of the forest, associated To the construction of popular housing in the already deforested area, while SEAE defended the total preservation of the area as an environmental park and, therefore, its exclusive use for this purpose. The analysis of the conflicts around the \"environmental question\" in the countryside or in the city can be very productive to think about different dimensions of social relations in contemporary societies, since it highlights individuals with different conceptions of society and nature And the ways in which these can or should relate. These positions on environmental issues are not free, they are concepts conceived in groups with different backgrounds and social positions, as well as with different levels of schooling, access to information and objective living conditions, and, for that reason, such conflicts can also become a prime example for understanding how groups with diverse social origins engage in so-called \"collective causes.\" The objectives of this investigation will be achieved by means of (i) documentary analysis of materials produced by the two movements on the above ground dispute; (Ii) observations of meetings and activities that both groups carry out; (Iii) reconstruction of the trajectories of the subjects of the research (militants of the two movements cited) to which we will give in-depth interviews, with emphasis on \"education received\" in different instances prior to entry into the movement (eg family, school, church, neighborhood) and, later, in the processes of formation and resocialization promoted within the two movements in question

During the period of the Brazilian military dictatorship, opposition groups fought against the established regime and to put into practice the actions, used methods and techniques to communicate that not jeopardized. The dissertation has as main objective to present the importance of clandestine communication used by militancy, which involved various forms and written clandestine strategies, code, passwords, among others, mainly characterized by creativity. The objective was to make such a survey in the Student Movement in Recife, and still illegal organizations and parties that joined the practice. The rescue of illegal communication starts in biographical books which are several examples narrated, runs through oral history through a series of interviews with people who militated in the period of dictatorship, especially between 1964 and 1974, and is endorsed by the analysis of police documents political seized during the dictatorship and police reports on the activities of militancy. The survey revealed information that helped to understand the role of militancy and the relevance of the study of clandestine communication, serving as a reference for other dictatorial contexts, recognizing that in fact was instrumental in confrontational situations.

Souza, Maria Erica Santana de 20 August 2012 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation is focused on the study of careers of black movement s militants whose political commitment presents the following features: a simultaneous involvement with both political parties and the black movement; a full-time dedication to militancy, and; the filling of state positions in left-wing governments. The main questions of the work are the grasp of the social resources required for filling governmental posts as well as the understanding of the historical, social, and cultural policies that gave rise to that pattern of political activism in the Brazilian State of Sergipe. The theoretical and methodological orientation of the research combined a set of analytical schemes borrowed from the sociology of social movements and the sociology of activism, using notions such as structure of political opportunities, processes of political involvement and social networks. The results show that there are some favorable conditions for the emergence of the pattern of political involvement and militancy at stake: the political detente and the end of the military rule in Brazil, the pressure of both international organizations and the Brazilian black movement over the State, and the rise of political allies within the federal government. As to the features of those militants who held state positions, the works highlights the centrality of a militant capital gathered over within the networks of the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) and the Partido Comunista do Brasil (PcdoB), and also within the black movement.

This study is aimed at examining women's participation in the student movement, taking note on how relations of power and gender are articulated in women’s militancy. The research on which this work is based was conducted during the campaign for the Central Directory of Students in a Federal University of Minas Gerais, in 2009. An understanding of the constructions of the concept of gender was sought, so that we could create a theoretical reference able to assist us in understanding the dynamics of gender relations within the student movement. To delve into our questions, women's participation in formal politics was reflected on, as it provides important clues to the involvement of militants in the student movement, as it is structured by a partisan logic. Furthermore, a speculation on youth and student movement was developed. In the third chapter, which presents our ethnography, the composition of the candidate slates involved are shown including the dynamic construction of the identities belonging to the same, where a reflection or speculation is developed about the strategies and attitudes of college women in relation to their positions along the political process in question.

This dissertation analyses two documentaries - "Gendernauts, a march towards changing identities" (Monika Treut, 1999) and "Wearing necktie and red nail" (Miriam Chnaiderman, 2014) - within the scope of discussing how identity of gender and sexuality are uttered in these works. This study is delimited on a conception of identity as a continuing change as well as the gender as a historical, cultural and political construction. Such view is supported particularly by both the feminist studies and the queer theory which stands up for the overcoming of the binary heterosexual/homosexual standardization. The work considers the different points of view of the documentaries, taking into consideration historical moments of their production. In Treut´s movie we highlight the militant aspect of the work when dealing with everyday life of a community of transgenders who live in San Francisco (USA), having this city an important role in the cause that stands up for the abject bodies. However in Chnaiderman movie, we sought to understand how sexuality and gender present themselves in their multiplicity, showing attire as the main element of transgression. Therefore, we numbered some inquiries which go through this research: how these different activisms are built in the two productions, keeping the perspective of a militancy designed by the LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) organizations, having in vieview the construction and consolidation of social rights for this group over fifteen years, the gap between the two productions? Which articulation - be it to a greater or lesser degree - with everyday life, towards recognizing in this "space of experience and contact" a path for the consolidation of the purposes of the activism? What are the particular time marks of the movies that express the queer theory in dialogue? Eventually, what ethical issues raise such works when they expose individuals historically prejudiced? Seeking to answer to these and other close questions means for this research to lead to the need of breaking out the invisibility which still leaves marks on those who have opted for transsexualism and/or other forms of sexual and gender identity and, at the same time, recognize through the media, most particularly through the nonfiction audiovisual, a powerful and significant locus in the scenery of the contemporaneous communication

Da Big Science à Policy Innovation. Narrativas que evidenciam mudanças nos paradigmas que informam a política científica e tecnológica brasileira / Big Science to Policy Innovation: narratives that show changes in the paradigms that inform our science and technology policy

Barbara Regina Vieira Lopes 16 January 2015 (has links)
Policy Narratives are stories that contain \"beginning, middle and end\"; villains and heroes; losses and gains; and, above all, a moral (political solutions). And why these narrative elements are important in this study? Through its analysis, we understand what is considered the cornerstone of the joints of political changes: The ideas and the interests. The Science and Technology Policy (PCT) Brazilian showed distinct narratives in recent decades, the official documents of S & T in the 1970s, as the Basic I and II National Plan for Science, Technology (PBDCT, 1972-74 and 1976-1979, respectively), had as its goal, to boost national autonomy in strategic sectors and meet the demand for skilled labor for the national industrialization process was finalized. However, as the economic crisis grew in the 1980s, S & T lost its image as a \"tool\" to progress. In this way, the public support was withdrawn and the Academy had to follow on without extensive state support given by the earlier Plans, as we saw in PBDCT III (1980-1985). The result of this lack of public funding to the S & T sector was catastrophic: There was a real disassemble the sector, caused by lack of resources. The S & T had no strategic space in the public agenda. This situation was gradually reversed when Fernando Henrique Cardoso took office in 1995. The new President promoted numerous reforms, among them, the one trying to make the most effective use of S & T sector, as a tool for innovation and entrepreneurship. In order to reach this results, it was necessary to promote institutional rearrangements, which spelled out in the PlanoPluriAnual (PPA, 1997), in the Third phase of the Plan for Support of Scientific and Technological Development, mainly, the third step (III PADCT, 1998-2004) the Green Paper (2001) and White Paper (2002). These documents indicated that S & T policies would now be committed to take on new challenges, invite new players to reshape the dynamics of their production in order to meet a central goal: to produce technological Innovations through university-industry interaction. This synergy was presented as a key in transforming knowledge into wealth. And by doing that, science would add competitiveness to our companies, supporting a new insertion of Brazil in international market. This and other assumptions were also present in the documents of S & T & I of his successor, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, as the texts of the Innovation Law (2004) 3rd National Conference on S & T (2006) and Blue Book (2010). That said, our study investigates the narrative elements of any cited documents and to analyze them, we concluded that since 1995 the paradigm that informs the National Policy of S & T is backed by very different assumptions of those experienced by the binomial peak in decade 1970. we believe that this shift is due, above all, because the scientific community has absorbed fifteen years ago, the discourse of Innovation with half remain at the core of decision-making of the PCT, raise funds and continue the search, viable instruments in decades of 1980-90.

Militância anticolonial e representação literária: Nós, os do Makulusu, de José Luandino Vieira e Un fusil dans la main, un poème dans la poche, de Emmanuel Dongala / Anticolonial militancy and literary representation: Nós, os do Makulusu, by José Luandino Vieira and Un fusil dans la main, un poème dans la poche, by Emmanuel Dongala

If the comparative exercise of this research began its course using brief common elements and numerous differences between the novels Nós, os do Makulusu, by José Luandino Vieira, and Un fusil dans la main, un poème dans la poche by Emmanuel Dongala, the analytical development allowed to construct a fruitful dialogue between the texts using the concepts of opposition and contradiction, didacticism and dialectic. In its own way, each one of these two narratives materializes issues that seem to point to meaningful differences also on the nature of the neighboring literary systems in which they belong. In this sense, by giving focus to the intricate relations that articulate the literary production to the social dynamics of its contexts, an endeavour of reflection was undertook about the tensions and contradictions which branded the historical processes of the Portuguese and French colonizations in Angola and Congo-Brazzaville starting from the peculiarities of composition verified in each of the literary texts. Through this process, it was sought to make explicit how the contingencies act in complex and intricate ways, in order to dialectically influence the possibilities of representation and the formal choices of the authors.
