Denna uppsats ämnar behandla exkluderande design i det offentliga rummet med fokus på Stockholmcentralstation. Syftet med uppsatsen är således att undersöka hur exkluderande design kan ta sig uttryck i detoffentliga rummet med huvudfokus på Stockholm centralstation samt hur exkluderande design kan tänkaspåverka diverse utsatta grupper. Detta arbete är ett kvalitativt arbete som baseras på dels diverse dokument ochplaner från Stockholm stad men även på observationer som genomförts på Stockholm central vid tre olikatillfällen. Resultatet blev att det fanns inslag av samt exempel på exkluderande design på stationen där ett av defrämsta exemplen var exkluderande bänkar samt även bristen på dessa. Utsatta grupper kan påverkas avexkluderande design på olika sätt men det är av stor vikt att sätta exkluderande design i ett större perspektiv ochdiskutera vikten av vad som menas med just exkluderande samt vilka som kan tänkas påverkas av detta. Detskulle behövas mer och vidare forskning kring ämnet för att kunna analysera och diskutera detta ytterligare.

This essay will explain if and how the term customer is used at the municipal level in Sweden and if the officials in the chosen municipalities thinks the term customer affect the municipality's functions. Lundquist's theoretical perspective on our public ethos has been applied to explain the use of the term customer and its impact. By using a qualitative method based on semi-structured inverviews with officials and text analysis of local government documents, the municipalities of Kalmar, Umeå and the city of Helsingborg have been studied to fulfill this essays purpose. The result of the essay concludes that the term customer is used in different ways within the municipality and externally. According to the interviewed officials the term also has an impact on the municipality's functions and services.

Denna uppsats studerar hemlösa kvinnor i det offentliga rummet. Vidare studeras erfarenheter och uppfattningar för hemlösa kvinnor samt exkluderingen av hemlösa kvinnor i det offentliga rummet i städer. För att besvara syftet används en kvalitativ metod med sex semistrukturerade intervjuer som analyseras med en innehållsanalys för att identifiera gemensamma teman och mönster. Resultatet visar att hemlösa kvinnor utsätts för både press och stigmatisering, vilket i sin tur skapar skam på grund av misslyckat mödrar skap samt att de förväntas klara sig själva. Kvinnorna befinner sig i en multipel utsatt situation präglad av våld, övergrepp och prostitution. Därtill identifieras utifrån resultatet att fler hemlösa kvinnor söker trygghet och skydd genom att befinna sig med en man samt att de har en tuffare attityd både för skydd samt anpassning till det maskulina offentliga rummet. Ytterligare finns det hinder och svårigheter för hemlösa kvinnor att befinna sig i det offentliga rummet, både gällande toaletter, ovetskap av vart deras förövare befinner sig, samt exkludering i sjukvård.

Syftet för uppsatsen var att undersöka förhållandet mellan religion och politik i det amerikanska samhället med fokus på hur kristendomen påverkar skolundervisningen. Fokus har lagts på områdena: sexualundervisning, homosexualitet, abort och skapelselära kontra utvecklingsteori. Metodologiskt har studien genomförts med analys av aktuell och relevant litteratur och av två religionssociologiska surveyer. I mitt resultat har jag hittat betydande skillnader i hur sexualundervisningen genomförs, de största skillnaderna var mellan sydstaterna i bibelbältet och de nordöstra delstaterna. Betoningen låg på sexuell avhållsamhet före äktenskapet. Fler amerikaner är idag positiva till abort än tidigare men en stor del av befolkningen är fortfarande osäker. Attityder till homosexualitet har förändrats i positiv riktning mot ett ökat accepterande. Förändringarna i riktning mot ett accepterande är främst beroende av synen på homosexualitetens ursprung. Skolan tar inte upp frågan i undervisningen utan är mer inriktad på att förhindra diskriminering. Den kristna högern har förlorat kampen om en normativ kristen undervisning. Den ska vara neutral i den offentliga skolan. Amerikaner har fortfarande i sin privata religiösa tro en betydande förankring i skapelsetron. I bibelbältet görs försök att balansera de båda uppfattningarna. I en jämförelse av undervisningen mellan USA och Sverige finns betydande skillnader. Utvecklingsteorin och en helomfattande sexualundervisning har en starkare ställning i Sverige.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka hur man i statens offentliga utredningar konstruerar begreppen inflytande och värdigt liv hos äldre samt vilken mening begreppen ges. Undersökningen görs genom en diskursanalys av statliga utredningar. Huvudresultatet från analysen är att inflytande för äldre i samhället gått från en kollektiv innebörd till en mer individuell betydelse samt att det formuleras problem kring detta, samt att man i en del av de statliga utredningarna tenderar att se den äldre som något skiljt från samhället och att man försöker tillskriva äldre nya roller. / This composition aims to investigate, trough a discourse analysis, how the public investigations of the government construct the conception of influence and dignity for older persons. The main result of the analysis is that influence for older persons are perceived as something collective that develops to something more individual, that government tries to ascribe older persons new roles and that the government tend to perceive the old person as something secluded from the rest of the society.

As the number of older people using the Internet continues to grow, their specific accessibility requirements while using digital technology often go unaddressed. This qualitative study aimed to investigate potential obstacles regarding the accessibility of two Swedish public sector websites for older adults when they are visited on a smartphone, and how they relate to the guidelines in WCAG 2.1 and the basic principles of information architecture. The study also aims at exploring the internet and mobile technology usage patterns among the elderly population. Six participants were enlisted to partake in an interview, accompanied by an observation combined with a think-aloud method, enabling them to articulate their emotions and viewpoints regarding the user experience. The study’s objective when using the studied websites on a smartphone, as well as to grain a comprehensive understanding of the participants’ overall user experience. This exploration aimed to enhance the comprehension of website accessibility for older adults within the realm of public sector websites. The findings of the study show a small number of difficulties regarding the accessibility on both websites. Most of the difficulties could be related to the guidelines in WCAG 2.1 and some of them could be related to the basic principles of information architecture. The results also showed that the participants use their smartphones often or every day and that the vast majority visit websites often or daily via their smartphones.

In a world increasingly shaped by digitalization, digital services necessitate a strong foundation in digital competence to ensure social inclusion. As part of the rising digitalization efforts within schools, a certain level of digital accessibility is required and they play a crucial role in providing information and services to students and parents. The purpose of this study is to conduct a quantitative analysis to determine whether the studied Swedish high school websites meet current laws, standards, and guidelines related to web accessibility. In related research, challenges faced by developers and editors in developing accessible websites are highlighted. Municipal as well as independent schools both constitute public entities and are therefore obligated under the DOS-law to adhere to the guidelines and laws governing digital services (websites, apps, digital documents, etc.). Considering the law that will be enacted in 2025, encompassing all economic actors, public entities are of interest as study subjects. The results show that none of the websites studied meet the existing requirements. The results also indicate that the websites of municipalities are considered more accessible than those of independent schools.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka om det finns exempel i Karlstad centrum som kan tyda på exkluderande design. Detta görs utifrån de två frågeställningarna: Vilka exempel på exkluderande design finns i Karlstad centrum? Vad i den urbana designen i Karlstad centrum skulle kunna missgynna olika grupper och i så fall vilka? Det empiriska materialet har samlats in genom observationer och denna empirin som har samlats in ska hjälpa till att besvara frågeställningarna. Uppsatsen utgår ifrån Fredrik Edins och Robert Rosenbergers teorier om exkluderande design men även Henri Lefebvres begrepp rätten till staden berättat utifrån Helena Holgerssons avhandling. Teorierna har använts i syfte att tolka den urbana designen i Karlstad centrum. Utifrån dessa teorier gick det att finna att olika designer i Karlstad Centrum kan medföra exkluderande effekter mot vissa grupper. Det går däremot inte att tydligt avgöra avsikten av dessa designer. / This essay looks to study if there are examples of design elements that can indicate exclusionary design in central Karlstad. This will be conducted using two questions: What examples of exclusionary design can be found in central Karlstad? What in the urban design in central Karlstad can act exclusionary against different groups and if so, against who? The empirical material has been collected using observations and this empirical material seeks to help answer the two questions. The essay engages the theories of Fredrik Edin and Robert Rosenberger on exclusionary design as well as Henri Lefebvre’s concept of the right to the city as told in Helena Holgersson’s thesis. The theories have been used to interpret the urban design found in central Karlstad. Using these theories we found that different designs in central Karlstad can entail exclusionary effects against certain groups. We can not however clearly determine the intention behind these designs.

Social media platforms have become a natural part of gathering information and news consumption by the audience. Using social media as a journalistic tool is therefore valuable to reach target audiences, and through this, create a relationship with future subscribers. Social media has also been established by previous research to be the most central platform of consuming news among teenagers and younger adults. This suggests a further reason for social media to be of interest in journalistic research but also motivates the selection of a younger target audience as the chosen subject of inspection. In addition, previous research reveals that with the immense amount of information circling on social media and the commercialisation of media, the trust in journalism is decreasing which can be considered as a threat to democracy. Researching journalists perspective on the interaction with a young audience was found relevant since previous research shows studies of either trust in media through the eyes of young audiences or the journalistic work methods for creating content on social media but never combined to investigate how these two correlate. This qualitative study conducted in depth interviews with six social media editors at six different newspapers within the media organization Gota Media. Through a thematic analysis scheme, codes and themes were identified and further analyzed using Habermas theories concerning mass media and the public sphere and Dahl’s theory of democracy. The study found a common ambition of reaching the young target audience through social media, however the strategy of doing so differed. While one group of the interviewees believed in extending the dialog with the audience and increasing their vocal intervention in the comment section, the other part of the interviewees believed in improvement of the brand and increasing the material published to reach the target audience through a heightened visibility on social media. In addition, the study also found that the democratic role of journalism was deprioritized in the process of making content for social media as well as comforting to the social media platforms media logic.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur planeringen av social hållbarhet med fokus på trygghet i den offentliga miljön förändrats i den nya stadsdelen Norra Djurgårdsstaden i Stockholm. Undersökningen har genomförts med en kvalitativ samt en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av två olika planprogram för en hållbar utveckling av Norra Djurgårdsstaden. Planprogrammen är från 2017 och 2021 och har studerats med en jämförande ansats. Uppkomsten av ord har räknats samt en dokumentstudie där olika studier och böcker ligger till grund för de teorier som diskuteras med analysens resultat. Resultatet av studien visar att det finns ett fortsatt arbete för social hållbarhet i stadsutvecklingsprojektet Norra Djurgårdsstaden. Planering som är kopplat till det offentliga rummet visar på hur Norra Djurgårdsstaden har ett starkt fokus på trygghet. Planprogrammet från 2021 har ett trygghetsperspektiv med en starkare koppling till jämställdhet och jämlikhetsfrågor. Det sociala hållbarhetsarbetet har fått ett större fokus på jämställdhet och jämlikhet som är kopplat till Agenda 2030 och FN:s hållbarhetsmål.
