Denna rapport beskriver produktionsprocessen för framtagandet av två filmer till ett svensktupplevelseföretag. Filmernas syfte är att informera potentiella kunder vad de kan förvänta sig. Dessa filmer ska efter leverans implementeras på upplevelseföretagets hemsida. Rapporten visar olika steg i processen från beställning till leverans samt de metoder somanvänds för att nå det resultat beställaren önskar. Projektet resulterade i två filmer, från två olika upplevelser, som efter leverans implementerades på upplevelseföretagets hemsida. / The aim of the project is to use different theories to deliver films to meet the demands and desires that the client has. This report describes the production process for the production of two films to a Swedish experience-company. The films purpose is to inform potential customers what kind of experience they can expect. These films will after delivery be implemented on experience company website. The report shows the various steps in the process from order to delivery, and the methods used to achieve the results the client wants. The project resulted in two films from two different experiences, who after delivery was implemented on the experience-company website.

My purpose in this essay is to analyse sexual messages and symbolism in music videos. Sexual contact can be depicted in various ways, like symbols of something hidden, not only how men and women relate to each other through a sexual act. I’ve demarcated the study into two music videos: Rammsteins Pussy, and Tommy Chashs Surf, based on the videos controversial reputation from the public. My question at issue is how sexual messages depicture and how symbolism indicates. The study is based on a semiotic model based on Roland Barthes' theory of character, as he presents in the book, Elements of Semiology. The result of this study is that the depiction of sex in these videos is presented as a symbol of personal message, and as a provocation. It reflects previous views on sexuality through the centuries. The provocation itself reinforces the artists image.

I denna uppsats undersöker jag frågor som ställs i redigeringsarbetet av en realityserie. Denna undersökning ägde rum på redaktionen av Husdrömmar som produceras av Sveriges Television (SVT) i Malmö. Uppsatsen tar upp tidigare forskning kring begreppet reality och dess historia. Detta följs av ett stycke där olika teorier angående trovärdighet läggs fram. Baserat på den egna produktionen, som består i att redigera ihop olika sekvenser av ett redan inspelat avsnitt, presenteras iakttagelser jag gjort i rollen som redigerare. Flera av frågorna som jag ställts inför handlar om det etiska perspektivet i framställningen av medverkande vilket diskuteras även med medarbetarna på redaktionen. / <p>Detta är en reflektionsdel till en digital medieproduktion.</p>

Syftet med studien är att undersöka en viss klippteknik och vilken påverkan den tekniken harpå en publik och om det går att se någon skillnad jämfört med en mer konventionellklippteknik. Klipptekniken ifråga är en teknik som filmklipparen Walter Murch använder sigav, där han i dialogscener väljer att klippa utan ljudet påslaget. Studien har genomförtsgenom kvalitativa intervjuer. De tio respondenterna har blivit intervjuade en och en där defått se fyra olika sekvenser i samband med intervjun där två var klippta med tekniken somundersöks och de andra två med en mer konventionell teknik. Undersökningens resultat visarinte något konkret resultat på vilken klippteknik som föredras, istället noteras aspekter somlängd och tempo på sekvenserna som en påverkande del i respondenternas tankar ijämförelsen mellan klippteknikerna.

Skate videos, produced by specific brands within skate culture, are an interesting window into a type of aesthetic formalism. There is a a lack of research concerning skate videos from a formalistic perspective, and this thesis aims to look at a specific aspect of the field; aesthetic form. In this context, aesthetic form includes the formalistic expressions that are created through camera work and editing, with a focus on post-production. With the help of theories by Jean Mitry that focus on film aesthetics in relation to editing, this thesis aims to analyze skate videos that represent unique aesthetic forms. The second theoretical framework employed is based on Thomas Thurnel-Read’s ”Format Nostalgia”, according to which a piece can have a clear nostalgic resonance to older video formats in its aesthetic. The evolution of digital video formats and platforms create a basis for how contemporary skate videos are produced and distributed. Through a qualitative analysis of three skate videos, the thesis illustrates how the formalistic expressions of this specific aesthetic form have evolved.

Stockholms stadsteater (Stockholm’s city theatre) is a public theatre in Stockholm, Sweden. During the last ten years, the theatre has increased its audience by 40 percent, has been called a ”success story” by culture politicians in Stockholm as well as others in the cultural field, and is today the largest theatre in the Nordic countries. At the same time, there is a recurring debate, primarily in the national morning papers’ culture sections, concerning Stockholms stadsteater. The debate often concerns the theatre’s ongoing organizational changes, usually in the form of a constant striving towards a more effective organization, as well as its negative results in the annual employee surveys. Despite usually positive reviews of its productions, Stockholms stadsteater has also been criticized for choosing to set up what by some is considered to be mainstream and commercial productions (for example musicals) at the expense of smaller, more artistic, ones. The main purpose of this study is to analyze different descriptions of Stockholms stadsteater during the years 2004-2013, by using the development of the Swedish cultural policy as background, and institutional organizational theory as the frame of reference. How cultural policy ideas are used in the different stories about Stockholms stadsteater, and the potential conflicts that exist between these different descriptions, is analyzed by using institutional theories about editing, translation and carriers of ideas. The study, based on text analysis and interviews, shows that Stockholms stadsteater is described as a role model and a recipe for success, as well as an effective and modern organization. The theatre is also described as a trademark, as well as part of a defense of democracy and the intrinsic value of culture. The analysis further shows that the different ideas about the theatre are sometimes used – that is, edited and translated – in different ways by different people and in different contexts. It also suggests that the idea of an effective organization can be considered as the main idea in the descriptions of Stockholms stadsteater. In the material studied, the thought of effectiveness is almost always present and something that other ideas often need to relate to in order to be perceived as legitimate. On the other hand, although the idea of effectiveness is important, it can also be controversial. For this reason, it can be edited to fit other cultural policy ideas better. One example is describing the intrinsic value of culture, in this case theatre, as something which is protected by organizations becoming more effective, and thus being able to use their resources to produce more qualitative theatre for more people.

Syftet med den här studien är att ta reda på om, och i så fall hur, dagstidningarnas rubriksättning har förändrats under de senaste åren samt om rubriksättningen har påverkats av tidningarnas inträde på internet. Jag har gått igenom alla rubriker i tre svenska dagstidningar under en specifik dag 1996, det vill säga innan tidningarna fanns på nätet. Dessa rubriker har jag jämfört med samma tidningars rubriker samma datum 25 år senare. Jag har även gått igenom tidningarnas webbrubriker den aktuella dagen 2021. Jag har utgått från teori om funktionell grammatik, kritisk diskursanalys och aktivitetsanalys och analyserat rubrikerna utifrån struktur, grammatik och innehåll. Det tydligaste resultatet från min jämförelse är att rubrikerna har blivit längre. De tre undersökta dagstidningarnas rubriker innehåller mellan 21och 74 procent fler ord i snitt 2021 än 1996. Och rubrikerna på nätet är ännu längre. Såväl antalet nominalfraser som ord per nominalfras har ökat. Dessutom är det fler rubriker som innehåller finita verb. På tidningsspråk skulle man kunna säga att rubrikerna har blivit pratigare. Min analys efter att ha intervjuat redaktörer på de tre tidningarna är att detta beror på att de snabba nyheterna har flyttat till nätet och att papperstidningarna innehåller större andel feature och åsiktsmaterial. Journalisternas förändrade arbetsvillkor är en annan faktor. Färre gör mer, vilket medför att tiden för att sammanfatta en artikel till en kort och lockande rubrik har minskat. Då kan man ta genvägen till att lyfta ut ett intresseväckande citat som rubrik. Att nätet med sina snabba nyheter ändå har de längsta rubrikerna kan även det bero på tidsbrist. På nätet gäller det att vara först, men också att få med så många nyckelord som möjligt i rubriken så att den hamnar högt upp hos sökmotorerna. Jag har undersökt åren 1996 och 2021. Det kan vara intressant att i en uppföljande studie undersöka ett årtal däremellan, eftersom mitt intryck är att rubrikerna kan ha varit mer av klickbeten tidigare, men att man i dag eftersträvar trovärdighet. Redaktörernas roll har stärkts.

Many people today have no idea that film editing is more than simply putting scenes together. Previous research also reveals very limited information about the editors line of thinking, the creative decision making, intuition and how they reflect upon their own profession. The purpose of this essay is to explore the film editors meaningful role in productions of moving image. We look at editors competence and characteristics and try to break down the hidden, magical touch they contribute with in an attempt to uncover the implicit and tacit knowledge they carry. Further we investigate what the differences between branches in the industry means for the editors. Six semistructured interviews were conducted with editors in the fields of television, motion picture and commercials. The findings indicate that the key elements of editing is creating narrative clarity and dramatic emphasis. Editing is also closely intertwined with music since it has similarities both in creation process and shape. The result shows that editors have profound understanding of film theory but use it only subconsciously. Instead intuition and experience-derived knowledge replaces theory. The result was applied on theories of intuition and experience after an empirical analysis in the hope of explaining what is demanded by the editor and how they develop their competence. Our study also highlight the need for more research in the field of editing.

The main theme of this essay was; How does Instagram affect their users when it comes to everyday retouching and today’s ideal of beauty, and are there any differences between age and gender? To answer this question, the everyday retouching of the Instagram users selfies (self-portrait) was investigated and charted, to see how it affecting today’s ideal of beauty.   We used a quantitative method and conducted an empirical study that was rooted in the Encoding/Decoding-model of Stuart Hall, Gidden’s theory of structuration, Cooley’s ”looking-glass self”, Lippman’s triangle, together with previous research and a web survey that was targeted to a random selection of Instagram users. The study contained a total of 194 self-recruiting respondents. We deemed it necessary to conduct this study, as it addressed an important topic that might be linked to the current fixation on appearance and today's ideal of beauty.   The results showed that Instagram has a particular impact on its users when it comes to everyday retouching. The majority of respondents used Instagram’s built-in tools for their editing/retouching process. Our results also showed that half of the women edited/retouched their selfies. About half of the men who responded to the web survey edited/retouched their selfies. The clearest result of the study was that younger individuals had a tendency to edit/retouch their selfies more frequently. / Temat för uppsatsen var; Hur påverkar Instagram sina användare när det gäller vardagsretuschering och dagens skönhetsideal, samt finns det några skillnader mellan ålder och kön? Syftet var att undersöka och kartlägga Instagram användarnas vardagsretuschering och hur det påverkar dagens skönhetsideal, med fokus på användarnas selfies.   Vi använde oss av en kvantitativ metod och utförde en empirisk studie som utgick från Encoding/Decoding- modellen av Stuart Hall, Giddens strukturering teori, Cooleys ”spegeljaget”, Lippmans triangel, tillsammans med tidigare forskning och en webbenkätundersökning som riktade sig till ett slumpmässigt urval av Instagrams användare. Studien hade sammanlagt 194 självrekryterande respondenter. Vi tyckte att det var viktigt att genomföra denna studie, då den innehöll ett relevant ämne som möjligtvis kan ha koppling till rådande utseendefixering och dagens skönhetsideal.   Undersökningens resultat visade att Instagram har en viss påverkan på sina användare när det gäller vardagsretuschering. En majoritet av respondenterna använde Instagrams inbyggda verktyg i sin redigerings/retuscherings process. Vårt resultat visade även att hälften av kvinnorna redigerade/retuscherade sina selfies. Av de män som svarade redigerade/retuscherade cirka hälften sina selfies. Det tydligaste resultatet av studien var att de yngre har en tendens att redigera/retuschera sina selfies oftare.
