Sporto renginio socialinės įtakos visuomenei vertinimas / Sports events social impact for society evaluation

1. Sporto renginiai skatina socialinį aktyvumą, o vienas iš tokių renginių uždavinių – socialinių įgūdžių lavinimas. Socialinio aktyvumo trūkumas yra rimta moderniosios technologijos amžiaus problema. Sporto renginiai turi galios ir įtakos kovojant su šia neigiama aktualija, jie skatina neužsidaryti namuose prie kompiuterių ar televizorių, o integruotis į visuomenę. 2. Sporto renginiai – motyvuoja visuomenės narius socializuotis, susipažinti bei bendrauti ne tik su savo aplinkos žmonėmis. Skatina savirealizaciją ir mokymosi procesą bei šeimos, kaip pamatinės vertybės išsaugojimą. Ugdo vienybės jausmą tarp skirtingų žmonių ir turi išliekamąją vertę. Sporto renginiai turi unikalią galimybę keisti išankstinius nusistatymus ir sukurti socialinius pokyčius. Visa tai – gyvenimo kokybės gerinimas. 3. Pasaulio ledo ritulio čempionato renginys suteikė daug galimybių socialiniams pokyčiams ir socialinei įtakai žmonėms bei miestui, tačiau tam mažai įtakos turėjo renginio organizatorių pastangos. Sporto renginys nors ir ugdo bei skatina socialinį bendravimą, vienybės jausmą tarp skirtingų žmonių renginio metu ir turi išliekamąją vertę, tačiau sporto renginiai suburdami žmones į vieną erdvę, suteikia jiems galimybę sąveikauti vieniems su kitais ir taip socializuojantis savaime kurti socialines įtakas. / 1. Sports event promotes social activity and one of the goals is social skills development. Sort of the social activity is the great problem of modernity technology century. Sports event has the impact and power to lower this negative actualities, events promote not to be inside the house just for to watch TV or play with computer, but integrate in the society. 2. Sports event is motivating society to socialize, meet new people and make conversation with people from the different environment. It promotes self- realization and process of learning, the family like the base value saving. It develops sense of unity between different people and has long term impact. Sports event has unique opportunity to change precedent opinion and create social changes. All of that is making better of life quality. 3. The World Hockey Championship event is giving lot of opportunities for social changes and social impact for the people ant for the city. But for that little impact have efforts of event organizers. Sports event is developing and promoting social conversation, sense of unity between different people at the event and has long term value, but sports event get together lot of people in one space, give them opportunity to interact one with others and that’s how they socialize by them self and create the social impact.

What is it that makes some events so successful, while others do not achieve the same results? According to most researchers and writers there are several factors that must be achieved in order for events to distinguish themselves from the crowd and be successful, but what are those factors then? The study was aimed to investigating the factors that create a successful sporting event. One person from each of the six largest children's and youth football tournaments, participated in this qualitative interview study. The results showed that factors such as; possessing a good knowledge of the organization, its external market environment and its stakeholders, proved significant. Similarly, to use the correct custom marketing methods, maintain and attract new stakeholders, and to have nice and caring work staff, were factors contributing to the success of wealth.

Kunskapsorientering : Vägval i kunskapsöverföring för evenemangsprojekt / Knowledge orienteering : Route choices in knowledge transfer for event projects

The purpose of this study is to explore which methods are used for knowledge transfer between recurring event projects, in different physical locations. The study also examines the different roles the project organization and the permanent organization take in these processes. The theoretical basis is previous research on knowledge transfer, projects and event projects. The study is using a qualitative method and studied three Swedish sport events (O-Ringen, 25manna and Tiomila). The data was collected through five semi-structured interviews. During the data processing, various themes and categories were coded, and a content analysis of the event's documentation was carried out. The results show that there are both similarities and differences between the knowledge transfer process in all three events. The events all have a similar method for knowledge transfer, but the balance between process, technology and people differs. This study also shows differences between the event projects and the permanent organizations, based on the various motives and long-term perspective the different organizations have. Finally, a new model for knowledge transfer is presented, based on both the theories and the findings of the study. / Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka metoder som används för kunskapsöverföring mellan projekt på olika fysiska platser, i form av evenemang. Dessutom undersöks vilka roller som projektorganisationen respektive årsövergripande organisation tar i dessa processer. Den teoretiska grunden utgår från tidigare forskning kring kunskapsöverföring, projekt och evenemangsprojekt. Studien har använt ett kvalitativt tillvägagångssätt och studerar tre svenska idrottsevenemang. Den primära datan samlades in genom fem semistrukturerade intervjuer, dessutom gjordes en innehållsanalys av dokumentation från evenemangen. Databehandlingen utgick från teman och kategorier som kodades. Resultatet från intervjuerna visar både på likheter och skillnader i metoder för kunskapsöverföring hos de tre studerade evenemangen. Alla tre evenemang har en liknande metod för kunskapsöverföring, men balansen mellan processer, teknologi och människor skiljer sig. Skillnader finns även mellan evenemangsprojekten och de årsövergripande organisationerna, utifrån de olika motiv och långsiktighet som organisationerna har. Till sist presenteras en egen modell för kunskapsöverföring utifrån teorier och studiens resultat.

It aims to identify, analyze and describe a specific relation in the work of these guides and the factors that support it. A research of qualitative nature has been made in order to make it possible for the researcher to be in direct contact with the guides and, therefore, obtain accurate data about their motivations. A semi-structured interview has been made with four volunteer guides that work with blind and visually impaired athletes. The data have been submitted to an analysis of content in order to characterize their motivational profile, as well as their aim to help athletes, the consciousness of facing high motivational situations and mostly the perspective of social recognition that they experience and share with the blind and visually impaired athletes. This study emphasizes that the personal valorization experienced is not related in any way to the view of negative aspects in the partners. On the other hand, they are extremely critics in relation to some prejudiced manifestations they have faced in situations of competitions. The data also show that the described difficulties are related exclusively to the corporal movements with synchronism, pointing, thus, a content related to the physical activity, present, objectively, in the sporting events. In a view that privileges elements of the psychological comprehension of the development of the blind and visually impaired, risks of the establishment of relational distortions that imprint a hyper-protective bond and, consequently, disfavor the most creative and adequately independent experience of the athlete they are guiding could also be observed in the data. / Este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer o perfil motivacional de guias de atletas com deficiência visual. Propõe-se a identificar, analisar e descrever, no trabalho desses guias, uma relação específica e os fatores que a sustentam. Para isso realizou-se uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, o que possibilitou ao pesquisador um contato direto e, conseqüentemente, a obtenção de dados fiéis à expressão dos guias participantes, acerca de suas motivações para desenvolver seu trabalho. Foi realizada uma entrevista semi-estruturada com quatro guias voluntários, que desenvolvem suas atividades junto a instituições de prática esportiva de deficientes visuais. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo, permitindo, além de caracterizar seu perfil motivacional, destacar a vontade de ajudar, a consciência de vivenciar situações altamente motivadoras e, principalmente, a perspectiva de reconhecimento social que os guias experimentam e compartilham com o atleta com deficiência visual. Ressalta-se que a valorização pessoal experimentada em momento algum mostrou-se vinculada à visão de aspectos negativos em seu parceiro, sendo, ao contrário, extremamente críticos em relação a algumas manifestações preconceituosas que já vivenciaram em situações de competição. Os dados mostraram ainda, que as dificuldades descritas referem-se predominantemente à movimentação corporal com sincronia, destacando, portanto, um conteúdo vinculado à atividade física, objetivamente presente na prática esportiva. Em uma visão que privilegia elementos da compreensão psicológica do desenvolvimento da pessoa com deficiência visual, observaram-se riscos de estabelecimento de distorções relacionais que imprimam um laço superprotetor e, conseqüentemente, desfavorecedor da expressão mais criativa e adequadamente independente do atleta que estão guiando.

Foram estudadas as características da imprensa regional, particularmente a do Brasil, e como os dois jornais se organizaram para cobrir a Copa do Mundo. Também foi observada a aplicação dos conceitos de agenda setting e espiral do silêncio aos megaeventos esportivos e a lógica de seleção e edição a partir da identificação de valores-notícia. No exame das matérias de A Tarde e A Crítica foi possível constatar que a identidade (da cidade, do estado e do Brasil) é importante para situar o estrangeiro visitante. Em A Tarde são analisadas as matérias que tratam da convivência entre a delegação alemã de futebol e a população local de Santa Cruz Cabrália, no sul da Bahia, que serviu de base para a seleção que conquistou a Copa do Mundo de futebol em 2014. A estratégia de aproximação com os moradores a partir da vivência de sua identidade marcou a cobertura de A Tarde e criou um clima simpático à seleção alemã. Música e dança, dois dos principais elementos formadores desta identidade nacional, estão presentes em várias matérias de A Tarde, que também associa os alemães a características atribuídas aos brasileiros, como amabilidade, cordialidade e boa convivência. Em A Crítica, foram analisadas as matérias que trataram da passagem de torcedores estrangeiros por Manaus e sua interação com a população da cidade, em relatos explorando a identidade do visitante por sua diferença daquela do habitante local. Também sofreram análise as matérias que trataram do legado da Copa, um assunto que ganhou espaço quando se encerrou a participação de Manaus, com o fim da fase de grupos, a quase três semanas da partida final. / This paper aims to investigate the sports supplements of the Brazilian newspapers A Tarde from Bahia e A Crítica from Amazonas during the Fifa World Cup Brazil 2014 trying to discover the parameters of the major sports events coverage by the regional media based on published texts and photos. The characteristics of the regional media, mainly the Brazilian regional press were analyzed as well the working organization adopted by the two newspapers in order to cover the Fifa World Cup. This work also exams the concepts of agenda setting and spiral of silence applied to the major sports events and the process of editing according the news values. Analyzing the articles of A Tarde and A Crítica we can establish how the identity (of the city, of the state and of the country) is important to the understanding of the foreigner. The articles of A Tarde concerning the social interaction between the German football delegation and the local people of Santa Cruz Cabrália, city of the state of Bahia where the 2014 world champion team was based during the Fifa World Cup Brazil 2014 were studied. The German strategy to incorporate the local identity and build social connections with the inhabitants influenced the coverage of A Tarde and created a good atmosphere in favor of the German team. Music and dance, two of the most important features of the Brazilian identity can be found in some of articles of A Tarde. The newspaper also relates to the Germans some Brazilian characteristics as kindness, cordialness and friendly relationship. This work also exams the articles of A Crítica concerning the visit to Manaus by the foreigner supporters and their social interaction with the local people showing the differences between their identities. The articles concerning the Fifa World Cup legacy played an special role after Manaus hosted its last match almost three weeks before the final game. Keywords:

Employment Effects of the FIFA World Cup on Host Nations : An Event Study

The employment effect of hosting the FIFA world cup has been researched multiple times with city, municipality, or state data using a variety of methods. Arguably, the Difference-In-Difference (DID) method, first used by Hotchkiss et al. (2003) then refined by countless others, is the most common method for measuring both short-term and long-term employment effects of mega sporting events (Hagn & Maennig, 2008). This event study applies a static and a dynamic two-way fixed effects difference-in-difference model (TWFEDD) to national employment data for 24 nations throughout 42 years between 1979 and 2021. The World Cup hosts included in the study are Mexico 1986, Italy 1990, USA 1994, France 1998, Korea & Japan 2002, Germany 2006, and Russia 2018. The two TWFEDD models fail to reject the hypothesis that there is no causal employment effect when hosting a World Cup.

Initially, the importance of sports events is considered from an historical perspective, in order to subsequently situate Sports within Brazilian Constitutional Law. In the following section, Brazilian sports scenery prior to the Sports Fans Statute is described. We examine, in particular, incidents in which consumers suffered injuries or damage, during sports events. Such facts were indication of the prevailing climate of negligence to principles relating to security and quality of the product offered to the consumer, during the period just before the establishment of the Sports Fans Statute (Law nº 10.671 on May 15th, 2003). This description introduces a general analysis of this particular legal peace, the Sports Fans Statute and its complementary character in relation to the Consumer Protection Code. Subsequently, incidents taking place at events unrelated to sports but held in sporting facilities are examined, together with the consequent application of the Consumer Protection Code. We also evaluate the necessity to bestow due importance to secondary disciplines, among which the Sports Fans Statute, in the face of Consumer Protection Code. To conclude, our final considerations are presented, summarizing arguments in favor of the compatibility between the Consumer Protection Code and the Sports Fans Statute / Trata-se de dissertação de mestrado cujo tema é O Código de Defesa do Consumidor e os eventos esportivos após o advento do Estatuto do Torcedor. Inicialmente, fizemos uma abordagem histórica acerca da importância dos eventos esportivos para, a seguir, situar o desporto no campo constitucional brasileiro. Segue abordagem histórica em que se relatou a ocorrência de fatos lesivos aos consumidores em arenas esportivas. Tais fatos denotam a desatenção a preceitos atinentes à segurança e a qualidade do produto oferecido ao consumidor, antes do advento do Estatuto do Torcedor (Lei nº 10.671 de 15 de maio de 2003). Na seqüência à referida narrativa, fizemos uma análise geral do Estatuto do Torcedor e de seu caráter complementar ao Código de Defesa do Consumidor. Posteriormente, analisamos a ocorrência de eventos não esportivos realizados em praça desportiva e a conseqüente aplicação do Código de Defesa do Consumidor. Avaliamos ainda a necessidade de conferir a devida importância às disciplinas secundárias, entre elas, o Estatuto do Torcedor, diante do Código de Defesa do Consumidor. The main goal of the study was to determine if the fan (supporter), perceives a relation of substitution or complementarity between the favorable attitudes towards attendance at the stadium or at other public places to watch football games. Additionally, the study aimed to investigate the influence of the identification of a sports fan (supporter) with his team in the attitude and public consumption of the spectacle of soccer in the stadium or in other public places, as well as if demographic characteristics (gender and age group) exert some kind of moderating effect on the relationships studied. To address these issues we sought reference in SIT - Social Identity Theory and SCT - Self-Categorization Theory. A survey was conducted, targeting supporters of the four main soccer teams from Rio de Janeiro, through assisted structured interviews. The sample was intentional and of convenience and data collection totaled 507 valid questionnaires. Data analysis was performed in two stages. The first contemplating an exploratory factor analysis, which aimed at the preliminary observation of the quality of the scales. The second stage included a confirmatory factor analysis in order to purify the scales. Convergent, discriminant and nomological reliability and validity of the constructs were evaluated. To test the substantive hypotheses of the study the structural equation modeling technique and multigroup analysis were used. The analysis results allowed empirical support of three out of the five substantial hypotheses. The results suggest that (a) The identification of the fan with the team exerts a positive influence on the attitude towards watching games at the stadium; (b) The favorable attitude of fans towards the stadium exerts a positive influence on the attendance at the stadium; and (c) The favorable attitude of fans towards public places exerts a positive influence on attendance at public places. However, we could not fully support the hypothesis that (d) identification of the fan with the team influences the attitude towards public places; and (e) The attitude of fans towards the stadium influences the attitude towards public places. The moderating effects of gender and age group were also not supported. / O presente estudo investigou o consumo público de eventos esportivos ao vivo dentro e fora do âmbito dos estádios. O objetivo principal do estudo foi determinar se o fã (torcedor), percebe uma relação de substituição ou de complementaridade entre as atitudes favoráveis ao comparecimento ao estádio ou a outros locais públicos para assistir a jogos de futebol. Adicionalmente, o estudo objetivou a investigação da influência da identificação do fã do esporte (torcedor) com seu time na atitude e consumo público do espetáculo do futebol no estádio ou em outros locais públicos; bem como se as características demográficas (gênero e faixa etária) exercem algum tipo de efeito moderador sobre as relações estudadas. Para abordar estes temas buscou-se referência na SIT – Social Identity Theory e na SCT – Self- Categorization Theory. Foi realizado um levantamento (survey), envolvendo torcedores dos 4 times cariocas de maior torcida, mediante entrevistas estruturadas assistidas. A amostra foi intencional e de conveniência e a coleta de dados totalizou 507 questionários válidos. A análise dos dados foi realizada em duas etapas. A primeira contemplando uma análise fatorial exploratória, que objetivou a observação preliminar da qualidade das escalas. A segunda etapa contemplou uma análise fatorial confirmatória com o objetivo de purificar as escalas. Foram avaliadas a confiabilidade e a validade convergente, discriminante e nomológica dos construtos. Para testar as hipóteses substantivas do estudo utilizou-se a técnica de modelagem de equações estruturais e a análise de multigrupos. Os resultados da análise permitiram suportar empiricamente três das cinco hipóteses substantivas. Os resultados sugerem que (a) A identificação do fã com o time exerce influência positiva sobre a atitude em relação a assistir a jogos no estádio; (b) A atitude favorável do torcedor em relação ao estádio exerce influência positiva sobre o comparecimento ao estádio; e (c) A atitude favorável do torcedor em relação a locais públicos exerce influência positiva sobre o comparecimento a locais públicos. Todavia, não foi possível suportar integralmente as hipóteses de que (d) A identificação do fã com o time exerce influência sobre a atitude em relação a locais públicos; e (e) A atitude do torcedor em relação ao estádio exerce influência sobre a atitude em relação a locais públicos. Também não foram suportados os efeitos de moderação do gênero e faixa etária.

Tesis por compendio / [ES] Las redes sociales han provocado un gran cambio en la manera en la que los eventos deportivos son consumidos en la actualidad, ya que consiguen generar una conversación y ser aglutinadores de un seguimiento que en muchos casos era impensable a través de los medios tradicionales. Tanto para los grandes eventos y los deportes de masas, pero muy especialmente para los deportes minoritarios, también llamados de nicho, todas las acciones en medios digitales cobran gran importancia. En este contexto de medios sociales en el deporte, la red social Twitter genera grandes debates y se posiciona como líder de la conversación en torno a los diferentes temas de actualidad deportivos o para el seguimiento de temas deportivos más específicos. El dinamismo de Twitter se basa en la participación individual, propiciando que diferentes usuarios conduzcan la conversación social gracias a su capacidad de influir. Por ello identificar tanto las dimensiones y variables, como los usuarios con mayor capacidad de generar influencia en esta red social se considera de gran importancia. En nuestra tesis, utilizando de manera combinada dos metodologías como el SNA y el AHP se propone una medida de la influencia en Twitter basada en variables obtenidas de la propia plataforma de Twitter (número de tweets, número de retweets y número de seguidores) y otras calculadas a partir del Análisis de Redes Sociales (outdegree, indegree y PageRank). Para componer este índice se utilizó el Proceso de Jerarquía Analítica, y se analizaron dos ediciones de un evento deportivo de un deporte de nicho: el ciclismo en Pista. Analizando la conversación generada en torno al mundial de Londres 2016 bajo el hashtag oficial #TWC2016, y el mundial de Paises Bajos de 2018 con el hashtag de la ciudad organizadora #Apeldoorn2018 , se constató que la dimensión autoridad formada por las variables número de retweets y pagerank era la que mayor ponderación obtuvo, un 62%, frente a la popularidad con un 29% y la actividad con un 8,4%. Además se consiguió identificar a los usuarios más influyentes de cada uno de los eventos, concluyendo que las cuentas con mayor influencia en Twitter eran las relacionadas con los deportistas participantes y organización del evento. En los eventos se pudo comprobar la importancia de la participación de los organizadores en la conversación generada, ya que en el evento de Londres, donde el perfil organizador fue uno de los más influyentes fueron más de 55.000 los tweets registrados, frente a los 19.000 de Apeldoorn, donde el organizador ocupó posiciones muy inferiores en este ranking de la influencia. Nuestra investigación adquiere gran importancia en esta área de los deportes de nicho, ya que puede resultar de gran interés para el estudio de la dependencia y origen cultural y geográfico de los deportes de nicho, y cómo posibles organizaciones pueden identificar las cuentas más influyentes que pueden redundar positivamente en la generación de menciones y beneficios para posibles patrocinadores. De hecho en nuestra tesis se refleja la creación de diferentes clusters geográficos en torno a los deportistas de un mismo país, y la importancia de determinados perfiles para ampliar el tamaño de estos grupos. / [CA] Les xarxes socials han provocat un gran canvi en la manera com els esdeveniments esportius són consumits actualment, ja que aconsegueixen generar una conversa i ser aglutinadors d'un seguiment que en molts casos era impensable a través dels mitjans tradicionals. Tant per als grans esdeveniments i els esports de masses, però molt especialment per als esports minoritaris, també anomenats de nínxol, totes les accions en mitjans digitals cobren gran importància. En aquest context de mitjans socials a l'esport, la xarxa social Twitter genera grans debats i es posiciona com a líder de la conversa al voltant dels diferents temes d'actualitat esportius o per al seguiment de temes esportius més específics. El dinamisme de Twitter es basa en la participació individual, i propicia que diferents usuaris condueixin la conversa social gràcies a la seva capacitat d'influir. Per això identificar tant les dimensions i les variables com els usuaris amb més capacitat de generar influència en aquesta xarxa social es considera de gran importància. A la nostra tesi, utilitzant de manera combinada dues metodologies com el SNA i l'AHP es proposa una mesura de la influència a Twitter basada en variables obtingudes de la pròpia plataforma de Twitter (nombre de tweets, nombre de retweets i nombre de seguidors) i altres calculades a partir de l'Anàlisi de Xarxes Socials (outdegree, indegree i PageRank). Per compondre aquest índex es va fer servir el AHP i es van analitzar dues edicions d'un esdeveniment esportiu d'un esport de nínxol: el ciclisme de Pista. Analitzant la conversa generada al voltant del mundial de Londres 2016 sota el hashtag oficial #TWC2016, i el mundial de Països Baixos de 2018 amb el hashtag de la ciutat organitzadora #Apeldoorn2018 , es va constatar que la dimensió autoritat formada per les variables nombre de retweets i pagerank era la que més ponderació va obtener, amb un 62%, davant de la popularitat amb 29% i l'activitat amb el 8,4%. A més es va aconseguir identificar els usuaris més influents de cadascun dels esdeveniments, concloent que els comptes amb més influència a Twitter eren aquells relacionats amb els esportistes participants i l'organització de l'esdeveniment. En aquests esdeveniments es va poder comprovar la importància de la participació dels organitzadors en la conversa generada, només a l'esdeveniment de Londres, on el perfil de l'organitzador va ser un dels més influents, es van registrar més de 55.000 tuits, davant dels 19.000 de Apeldoorn , on l'organitzador va ocupar un lloc molt més baix en aquest rànquing de l' influència La nostra recerca adquireix gran importància en aquesta àrea dels esports de nínxol, ja que pot resultar de gran interès per a l'estudi de la dependència i l'origen cultural i geogràfic dels esports de nínxol, i com possibles organitzacions poden identificar els comptes més influents que poden redundar positivament en la generació de mencions i beneficis per a possibles patrocinadors. They generate a conversation that in many cases was unthinkable through traditional media. Both for major events and mass sports, but especially for minority sports, also called niche sports, every action in digital media are very important. In this context of social media in sports, the social network Twitter generates great debates and positions itself as the leader of the conversation around the different current sports topics or for the monitoring of more specific sports topics. Twitter's dynamism is based on individual participation, allowing different users to lead the social conversation thanks to their ability to influence. Therefore, identifying both the dimensions and variables, as well as the users with the greatest ability to generate influence in this social network, is considered of great importance. In our thesis, using in a combined way two methodologies such as the SNA and the AHP, a measure of the influence on Twitter is proposed based on variables obtained from the Twitter platform (number of tweets, number of retweets and number of followers) and others calculated from the Social Network Analysis (outdegree, indegree and PageRank). To compose this index, the Analytical Hierarchy Process was used, and two editions of a sporting event of a niche sport were analyzed: Track cycling. Analyzing the conversation generated around the 2016 London World Championship under the official hashtag #TWC2016, and the 2018 Netherlands World Championship with the organizing city's hashtag #Apeldoorn2018 , it was found that the authority dimension formed by the variables number of retweets and pagerank was the one that obtained the highest weight, 62%, compared to popularity with 29% and activity with 8.4%. In addition, it was possible to identify the most influential users of each event, concluding that the accounts with the greatest influence on Twitter were those related to the participating athletes and the organization of the event. In these events, verifying the importance of the participation of the organizers in the generated conversation, was possible, just in the London event, where the organizer profile was one of the most influential, more than 55,000 tweets were registered, compared to 19,000 of Apeldoorn, where the organizer ranked much lower in this ranking of influence. Our research acquires great importance in this area of niche sports, since it can be of great interest for the study of the dependency and cultural and geographical origin of niche sports, and how potential organizations can identify the most influential accounts that can positively result in the generation of mentions and benefits for potential sponsors.
