The psychosocial working in elderly care : - among the assistant nurses in retirement home.

Petersson, Emelie January 2016 (has links)
The study was conducted among 100 assistant nurses working in six different residential home. The main purpose of the study was to increase awareness of the psychosocial work environment of assistant nurses in retirement home. In order to fulfill my purpose, I have chosen to use three questions: Have the period of employment in the workplace any impact on how the assistant nurses experience the psychosocial work environment? In the future it will become a lack of staff in elderly care. How do those working in elderly care today feel about the future? How important are the manager and colleagues for how assistant nurses are experiencing the psychosocial work environment? In order to answer the questions a quantitative method and a questionnaire has been used. The results were analyzed using SPSS and presented in the form of frequency tables, cross tabulations, chi square test and the sperman rho test. The results showed that the period of employment did not had an impact on the staffs´ experience of the psychosocial work environment. But what proved to be important was whether they felt their work as stressful. Where those who have worked between 3-10 years felt that the duties were more stressful than those with a shorter or longer period of employment.

Kompetensutveckling; en fråga om var du arbetar? : En kvantitativ pedagogisk studie / Competence development; a question about where you work? : A quantitaive study

Asp, Tina, Stridh, Charlotte January 2019 (has links)
This quantitative study has the purpose of mapping educational background and illustrate the possibilty of competence development in municipal elderly care. The study is based on answers from 108 electronic questionnaires from assistance nurses and nurse´s aides in municipal elderly care in Sweden. The result of the study shows that as much as 23,2% that are working in municipal elderly care is unqualified for their jobs. The study also shows that the municipalities around Sweden give their employees a good amount of competence development, but in the smaller municipalities there is less access to competence development than in the middle sized municipalities.

Julkunen, Therese, Romlin, Linda January 2007 (has links)
<p>The aim of the study has been to gain an increased understanding of the sense of participation and influence that the enrolled nurses, working with home-help services within the purchaser – provider model, feel and how this participation and influence affect them. Five enrolled nurses in three of Stockholm's districts related their experiences of participation and influence at work in the qualitative interviews that were conducted. The result was then analyzed with the help of two theories, Karasek's and Theorell´s Demand- Control Model and Antonovsky's theory regarding ”a Sense of Coherence (SOC)”. The analyzes show that the enrolled nurses have a low sense of participation and influence regarding decisions relating to their work situation. Decisions that affect the enrolled nurses are made by politicians, directors, and care managers of the city districts (biståndshandläggare). On the other hand, the enrolled nurses felt strong support from their peers at work. They could socialize and discuss issues with them. The analyzes show that without their peer support, they would have a lower sense of participation and influence. Furthermore the analyzes show that the interview subjects possess knowledge and competence that they are unable to make use of in their work.</p>

Metodrumsundervisning : En kvalitativ studie av simulering inom vård- och omsorgsutbildning / Clinical skills laboratory teaching : A qualitative study of simulation in nursing and healthcare education

Leibring, Ingela January 2015 (has links)
This study centres on clinical skills laboratory teaching in municipal adult education. This type of teaching takes place in a school setting and is hybrid of a nursing and healthcare environment. Future professional tasks are simulated and practised here. Three different schools were visited and three clinical skills laboratory lessons were recorded with a digital audio recorder. The following tasks were included in the study: venipuncture, urinary catheterisation, and wound dressing. The analysis was performed as a qualitative content analysis informed by a sociocultural perspective. The aim of the study is to extend the knowledge of how teachers approach the simulation of tasks in clinical skills laboratory training. The study identifies three simulation activities and their application: technical performance, interpretation, and treatment.  The main teaching tools used in the lessons were the teacher’s body/hands, different physical tools specific to the respective laboratory session and the teacher’s language. All the simulation tasks – venipuncture, urinary catheterisation and wound dressing – were included in the sessions. A similarity was that technical performance on the whole was the most common feature in all the laboratory lessons. A difference emerged when the clinical skills laboratory lesson was divided into the components: introduction, students practise themselves, and conclusion. The lesson introduction included treatment to nearly the same extent as technical performance. Differences related to lesson content were evident in the activities interpretation and treatment. A common pattern was that the teachers shifted between everyday language and professional language when they worked with simulation. They named their patients and gave the students immediate response.

Hoffer, Elisabet, Björk, Veronica January 2014 (has links)
Background: Nursing is a word that can have several meanings, it can be a verb or be synonymous with knowledge. Aim: The aim with this study was to describe what registered nurses (RN) and certified nursing assistant (CNA) perceived by the expressions nursing  and “qualitative nursing ” and what tasks at work these two different professions performed within the limits of nursing. Method: Qualitative interview study with individual interviews with three RN's and four CNA's. The content was analyzed through qualitative content analysis. Five themes and 21 categories arose. Results: The respondents expressed that the basal nursing care had a central role within the concept; nursing. At discussions about what good nursing meant, it was brought forth that a good interaction was decisive, to perform work related tasks with consideration and respect. To exercise person centered care was also considered to be good nursing. Besides basal nursing care and interactions it became apparent that medical technique is a big part of the job within nursing and that cooperation is an important part as well. There were few differences in opinions concerning RN respectively CNA job tasks. Conclusion: RN's and CNA's that were interviewed have the same general idea about what the concept nursing implies. It mainly focused on basal nursing care and good interactions, which were both considered as important parts within nursing. It can be seen that the lack of differences in opinion between CNA's and RN's is brought forth by a clear division of work between the two.

Arbetsrelaterad stress i offentlig verksamhet : en enkätstudie av undersköterskor i äldrevården / On work-related stress in elderly care : a survey study of staff in a retirement home

Nilsson, Matilda, Wennblom, Fredrik January 2018 (has links)

A Future With Healthcare-Robots And WelfareTechnologies? : A Bachelor Thesis About Attitudes Regarding RobotsAs Assistance Within Health And Social Care

Rydelius, Evelina, Ataei Saidi, Alicia January 2019 (has links)
This thesis deals with attitudes regarding robots, specifically those seen within health and social care. The purpose of this paper is to look into and analyze as to why the implementation of robotics as a complement to health and social care moves at a slow pace in Sweden, compared to Japan - which we believe is due to skepticism and a presumed social aversion in Sweden. In the beginning of writing this paper, we suspected that the media had played a part in affecting the opinions of the public, which we later could confirm in interviews done by us, and by doing a Google search analysis. However, we were disproved that Japan is as far ahead of Sweden as we first thought. We came to realize that Sweden has a goal of becoming the world’s leading country in welfare technology and digitalization by 2025, which the media has failed to report about, and so it is something that has gone unnoticed.  By asking three research questions we’re looking to compare Sweden to Japan in terms of attitudes towards and the development of robotics, specifically robots directed towards health and social care. The questions are as follows: (1) How does the opinions between caregivers differ from developers and other people working with welfare technology? (2) What is the skepticism, as well as the acceptance based on, regarding robots? (3) How does the search results differ in the search engine Google when googling the term “robot” in Swedish and Japanese?  Our research showed that there is a lack of information and communication by politicians and developers of robotics pointed towards the public and specifically caregivers, who are left out of the conversation to do research on their own - which leads them to find Swedish websites and articles about robotics that, in comparison to Japanese websites and articles, puts the robots in a negative light.  Finally, we suggest some sort of normalization process regarding robots, for example by downplaying the scare tactics by the media, and letting the public see the robots for what they really are - something to serve as a complement in health and social care, and not as a threat that could replace you. We believe that fairs and educational talks open to the public would be helpful, so that they can “meet and greet” the robot. This might help the public warm up to the idea of welfare robotics, which in turn may bring forward societal changes.

What do you want to do ?New mailCopy<img /> / Abstract Title: Same but different - An exploratory study on how nursing aides within the homecare handlethe values of elderly care and the organizational conditions Authors: Patrik Bengtsson och Viktor Bergerus The thesis aimed to, with an exploratory approach, examine how nursing aides in the home careservice manage the goals of self-determination, participation, and individualization, as well aswhich factors enable and limit the implementation of these goals. To achieve the purpose of thestudy, a qualitative method was used. Five interviews have been conducted with nurses workingin home care in four different municipalities. The results of the interviews were interpretedbased on grounded theory which was chosen when the purpose was exploratory. During theanalysis, codes, subcategories and categories were generated that resulted in a main concern. There were various factors that influenced when it comes to what promotes and inhibits theintroduction of the values in daily work. The concept or main concern that emerged was thenorm discrepancy, which in short means that the work performed must be flexible but be carriedout within a rigid framework. Neo-institutional theory was used to discuss the results, theconclusion was that the nursing aides’ ability to adapt is what makes the home care service'swork despite conflicting goals and requirements.
