Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study aimed to highlight the disciplines of the courses of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Service, Physical Education and Psychology at the Federal University of Sergipe, which programs present subjects related to aging. It also identifies if during these courses the senior was focused as a biopsychosocial being, if these professionals felt the need for training in their area after higher education, if there was training and where it was performed. In this research, a qualitative and quantitative methodology was employed, characterized as a cross-sectional study, exploratory, descriptive and documentary. The following instruments were used: self-applied questionnaire with objective and subjective questions, and spreadsheet for analysis of the disciplines programs. In the qualitative analysis, it was used categorical analysis, and found subcategories were presented. In the quantitative analysis was calculated the frequency of appearance of the subcategories in the responses. For analyze the needs of the elderly, it was used the theory of hierarchy of human basic needs described by Maslow. The research was conducted at the Federal University of Sergipe UFS, hospitals and Basic Health Units UBS of the city of Aracaju-SE. Participated in this survey 265 graduated professionals by UFS and that serve the elderly, and of these, 91 were doctors, 71 nurses, 47 dentists, 32 social workers, 14 physical educators and 12 psychologists. It was obtained as a result that the training of health professional participants did not contribute significantly to the performance of these with the elderly population, according to their responses. It was observed that although formations are still focused on the treatment and prevention of diseases, except in the Social Service course that is more focused on the safety of the elderly, the elderly people needs on being esteemed and loved were seen by these professionals during their academic backgrounds. As additional results of this study were, it was obtained suggestions for improvement of the training, it were been shown that teamwork has hardly existed and that the failure in the education of professionals was reflected in difficulties in the practice of care for the elderly, except the psychologists who, despite having reported failures in their training, connected their difficulties to the physical limitations of the elderly. It was also observed that, despite the need for training of most of professionals, the few were
trained and the most of the conducted trainings was organized by the Health Department of the Municipality of Aracaju, only for professionals working in their own UBS.
. / Este estudo teve como objetivo evidenciar as disciplinas dos cursos de Medicina, Enfermagem, Odontologia, Serviço Social, Educação Física e Psicologia da Universidade Federal de Sergipe, que apresentam em seus programas assuntos referentes ao envelhecimento. Identifica, também, se durante a realização destes cursos o idoso foi enfocado como um ser biopsicossocial, se estes profissionais sentiram necessidade de capacitação na área após sua formação superior, se houve capacitação e onde estas foram realizadas. Nesta pesquisa, foi empregada uma metodologia qualiquantitativa, sendo a mesma caracterizada como estudo de corte transversal, de caráter exploratório, descritivo e documental. Como instrumentos, foram utilizados: questionário autoaplicável, com questões objetivas e subjetivas, e planilha para análise dos programas das disciplinas. Na análise qualitativa, foi utilizada análise categorial, na qual subcategorias encontradas foram apresentadas. Para análise quantitativa foi calculada a frequência de aparecimento das subcategorias nas respostas. Por sua vez, para análise das necessidades dos idosos, foi utilizada a teoria da hierarquia das necessidades humanas básicas descrita por Maslow. A pesquisa foi realizada na Universidade Federal de Sergipe UFS, em hospitais e em Unidades Básicas de Saúde UBS da cidade de Aracaju-SE. Participaram desta pesquisa 265 profissionais graduados pela UFS e que atendem idosos, sendo que destes, 91 são médicos, 71 enfermeiros, 47 odontólogos, 32 assistentes sociais, 14 educadores físicos e 12 psicólogos. Obteve-se como resultado nesta pesquisa que a formação dos profissionais de saúde participantes desta muito pouco contribuiu para a atuação destes junto à população idosa, conforme suas respostas. Observou-se que, apesar das formações ainda estarem voltadas para o tratamento e prevenção de doenças, à exceção do curso de Serviço Social, que está mais voltado à segurança do idoso, as necessidades do idoso de estima e de amor foram vistas por estes profissionais durante suas formações acadêmicas. Como resultados adicionais deste trabalho, foram obtidas sugestões para a melhoria da formação dos profissionais, foram mostrados que o trabalho em equipe praticamente não tem existido e que a falha na formação superior dos profissionais refletiu-se em dificuldades na prática do cuidado ao idoso, à exceção dos psicólogos que, apesar de
terem referido falhas em sua formação, relacionaram suas dificuldades às limitações físicas do idoso. Observou-se ainda que, apesar da necessidade de capacitação da maioria dos profissionais, poucos foram os que se capacitaram, e que a maioria das capacitações realizadas foi organizada pela Secretaria de Saúde do Município de Aracaju, apenas para os profissionais que trabalham em suas próprias UBS.

Äldreomsorgen står inför en rad nya utmaningar, en ökande andel äldre befolkning som har stora vård- och omsorgsbehov samtidigt som resurserna till verksamheterna minskar. Detta innebär att verksamheterna behöver organiseras och ledas för en hållbar och hälsofrämjande arbetsmiljö för medarbetarna med chefer som leder med delaktighet och tillit som grund. Hur visar sig denna förmåga hos chefer att bjuda in till delaktighet och ge stöd i vardagen? Syftet med studien är att beskriva chefers förhållningssätt som blir synligt i mötet med medarbetare i äldreomsorg. En kvalitativ observationsstudie med induktiv ansats har använts och enhetschefer inom äldreomsorgen har observerats med ett passivt deltagande av författarna. Resultatet redovisas utifrån de underkategorier och kategorier som innehållsanalysen gav. De tre kategorierna är Kommunicerande förmåga, Relationsskapande och Uppdragsinriktad. Resultatet visar att enhetschefer uppvisar relationsskapande och kommunicerande förmåga till medarbetarna. Enhetscheferna förstärkte sina ord och tankar med sitt kroppsspråk i kommunikationen med sina medarbetare. Enhetscheferna arbetade aktivt med att få medarbetarna engagerade i verksamheten och när olika problem uppstod var enhetschefen tydlig med att låta medarbetarna själva komma med olika förslag på lösningar och bjöd in dem till delaktighet. Resultatet kan sammanfattas i temat Ett förhållningssätt som synliggörs genom att ha fokus på uppdraget grundat i kommunikation och skapandet av relationer. / Elderly care is facing several new challenges, an increasing part of the old population with significant health and care needs, as the same time as limiting resources for the function. This means that the operations need to be organized ang managed for sustainable and health-promoting work environment for the employees with managers who lead with participations and support? The purpose of the study is to describe managers attitudes that become visible in the meeting with elderly care workers. A qualitative observational study with inductive approach has been used and unit managers in the elderly care have been observed with the passive participations of the authors. The result is reported based on the sub-categories and categories that the context analysis provided. The three categories are Communicative Ability, Relationship Creation and Mission-oriented. The result show that unit managers show relationship-building and communicative ability to employees. The unit managers complemented their verbal language/ communication by using bode language in communication with their employees. The unit managers worked actively to get the employees involved in the business and when various problems occurred, the unit manager was direct in allowing the employees themselves to come up with different proposals for solutions and invited them to participate. The result can be summarized in the theme an approach that is made visible by focusing on the assignment based on communication and the creating of relationships.

The aim of this study is to describe situations that nurses experience as strenuous in their work with elders in institutional environment. The study focuses on the content and structure of the situations, meanings the nurses put in the situations and how they manage to handle the situations. The approach was to have a phenomenological perspective and a theoretical frame of reference in the CPT model (CognitivePhenomenological-Transactional view) from Lazarus and Manet as well as inAntonovsky's discussion about the importance of general resistance resources against stressful events. The study is based on observations and interviews with five nurses working in three different institutions and in five different wards. The thesis states that factors in the work organisation such as lack of a common caring philosophy, ignorance of the nurses' role and function, communication problems with other organisations, imbalance between demands and resources are experienced as strenuous. Situations with pain and pain relieving, constant shouting from patients and severe confusion were pointed out as particularly stressful in the interaction with patients. The nurses use a number of strategies in order to handle these strains, such as seeking social support, planned problemsolving, positive reappraisal and sometimes distancing. From an immediate perspective these strategi.es were efficient and the nurses were satisfied with their work.

Bakgrund I åldrandet kan det förekomma komplexa omvårdnadsbehov och nedsatt förmåga till eget beslutstagande hos den äldre. Sjuksköterskor ska arbeta utifrån personcentrerad vård för den äldre. Personcentrerad vård grundas i en humanistisk vård med en helhetssyn på individen vilket handlar om relationskapande och delaktighet. Äldreomsorgens nationella värdegrund i socialtjänstlagen ska arbetas utefter för äldres rätt till ett värdigt liv. Syfte Syftet med litteraturöversikten var att belysa sjuksköterskans upplevelser och erfarenheter av att arbeta personcentrerat i vård av äldre. Metod Litteraturöversikten grundar sig på 13 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvalitativ samt kvantitativ design. Databaserna som användes för att erhålla artiklar var CINAHL och PubMed med publikation mellan åren 2012 – 2022. Analysen genomfördes som en innehållsanalys där likheter och skillnader jämfördes. Resultat I resultatet av litteraturöversikten identifierades fyra huvudkategorier vilka var delaktighet, att värna om den äldre, kommunikation och upplevelse av personcentrerad vård. Resultatet visade på sjuksköterskors upplevelser samt erfarenheter av personcentrerad vård till äldre. Slutsats Det framkom att sjuksköterskor arbetade personcentrerat dock fanns brister och utmaningar i tillämpandet. Sjuksköterskorna beskrev positiva känslor som uppstod i tillämpandet av personcentrerad vård för den äldre, där hjärtat skulle vara med i arbetet. / Background During aging, there may be complex nursing needs and older people may experience reduced ability to make their own decisions. Nurses must work on the basis of person-centered care for the elderly. Person centered care is based on a humanistic care with a holistic view of the individual which is about relationship and participation. The national values of the elderly in the Social Services Act must be respected and applied in caring for the elderly in order to secure their right to a dignified life. Aim The aim of this literature review was to explore nurse’s experiences of working person-centered in the care of the elderly. Method The literature review was based on 13 scientific articles with qualitative and quantitative designs. The databases used to obtain articles were CINAHL and PubMed with publication between the years 2012 – 2022. The analysis was performed as a contentanalysis where similarities and differences were compared. Results In the result of the literature review, four main categories were identified which were participation, caring for the elderly, communication and experiences of person centered care. The results showed nurses’ experiences of person centered care for the elderly. Conclusions It emerged that nurses worked person centered, however there were shortcomings and challenges in the application. The nurses described positive emotions that arose in the application of person-centered care for the elderly, where the heart would be involved in the work.

Den demografiska förändringen över ålderstrukturen står inför en förändring, där antalet äldre förväntas öka markant. För att äldreomsorgen ska ges möjlighet att tillhanda hålla en god omvårdnad, bör behovet av kompetent personal och en god arbetsmiljö tillgodoses. Syftet med denna undersökning var att skaffa kunskap om vilka möjligheter samt vilka resurser arbetsledare inom äldreomsorgen har för att implementera en god arbetsmiljö. Metoden som använts för denna kvalitativa undersökning var hermeneutisk metod, för att erfara och tolka arbetsledarnas arbetsmiljöarbete. I resultatet av undersökningen framkom att en majoritet av arbetsledarna ansåg att de hade en god arbetsmiljö och resurserna var adekvata, men utifrån intervjuerna kunde det tolkas att arbetsledningen och medarbetarna arbetade mot olika mål. En möjlighet för att implementera en god arbetsmiljö enligt studien, var att skapa en värdegrund som utgår ifrån hälsans bestämningsfaktorer. Ytterligare något som framkom ur undersökningen var att kompetensen borde ökas inom äldreomsorgen för att möt den framtida förändringen. / The demographic over the age structure stand before a change, when the elderly people expect to increase considerably. For making it possible for care of the elderly and to provide a good form of health care should the need for competent staff and work environment be satisfactory. The purpose of this study was to examine which possibility and which facilities work leaders have to implement a healthy work environment. The method that was used in this qualitative research was hermeneutic method, to examine and interpret work leaders work environments work. In the results of this study it emerged that a majority of the work leaders meant that they had a good work environment and adequate facilities, but from the interviews could it be interpreted that the management and coworkers worked towards different goals. In the study it emerged that the foundation of values should be from the determinants of health, and these values can be a possibility to implement a healthy work environment within the care of the elderly. Another finding in the study was that the competence within care of elderly should increase, to encounter the future changed demands on care of elderly.

Bakgrund: Urininkontinens hos äldre är ett vanligt förekommande problem. Fler människor lever längre och drabbas av urininkontinens när kroppen åldras. Kopplingar mellan urininkontinens och den äldres fysiska förmåga kan vara komplexa och omfattande. Livskvalité hos den äldre människan handlar om vad som gör livet värdefullt och kan skilja sig åt från person till person. I vårdandet är specialistsjuksköterskans ansvar att främja hälsa och arbeta för patientens välbefinnande på ett sätt som bemöter individens behov. Syfte: Belysa äldre människors upplevelse av livskvalité vid urininkontinens. Metod: Integrativ litteraturstudie enligt Whittemore och Knafl:s beskrivning med data från kvantitativa och kvalitativa artiklar. Resultat: Analys av nio artiklar ledde fram till tre teman och sex subteman. Bilden av sig själv, praktisk anpassning i livet och social anpassning som påverkas och kan förändras när den äldre människan drabbas av urininkontinens. Människor med urininkontinens beskriver att livskvalitén förändras och väcker känslor som oro och rädsla. Självbilden och självkänslan påverkas av urininkontinens samtidigt som självbilden kan stärkas av vård och omvårdnad. Besvär som läckage och täta toalettbesök orsakade av urinkontinens påverkar vardagen och leder till minskade dagliga aktiviteter och mindre umgänge. Slutsats: Minskade besvär av urininkontinens bidrar till att möjliggöra fysisk aktivitet och sammantaget ökar det livskvalitén. / Background: Urinary incontinence in the elderly is a common problem. More people live longer and suffer from urinary incontinence as the body ages. Links between urinary incontinence and the physical ability of the elderly can be complex and extensive. Quality of life for the elderly is about what makes life valuable and can differ from person to person. In care, the specialist nurse's responsibility is to promote health and work for the patient's well-being in a way that meets the individual's needs. Purpose: Elucidate older people's experience of quality of life with urinary incontinence. Method: Integrative literature study according to Whittemore and Knafl's description with data from quantitative and qualitative articles. Results: Analysis of nine articles led to three themes and six subthemes. Self-image, practical adaptation in life and social adaptation that are affected and can change when the elderly suffer from urinary incontinence. People with urinary incontinence describe that the quality of life changes and arouses feelings such as worry and fear. Self-image and self-esteem are affected by urinary incontinence, while self-image can be strengthened by care and nursing. Problems such as leakage and frequent toilet visits caused by urinary incontinence affect everyday life and lead to reduced daily activities and less socializing. Conclusion: Reduced symptoms of urinary incontinence help to enable physical activity and overall it increases the quality of life.

Den kommunala äldreomsorgen har hög sjukfrånvaro bland medarbetarna vilket skapar arbetsmiljöproblem för enhetscheferna som har svårt att hantera detta. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa förståelse för enhetschefers förutsättningar att hantera sjukfrånvaron inom den kommunala äldreomsorgen. Tidigare forskning är begränsad rörande enhetschefers förutsättningar att hantera sjukfrånvaron. Politikerna, som är arbetsgivare, har det juridiska ansvaret och ska styra verksamheten för att främja en bra arbetsmiljö, både organisatoriskt, socialt och fysiskt. Det får konsekvenser för hela organisationen om inte chefers arbetsmiljö och förutsättningar är goda. Denna studie har genomförts med en kvalitativ ansats med tio enhetschefer från två utvalda kommuner och kombinerar teorier om organisatoriska förutsättningar med ett medarbetarperspektiv. Empirin har samlats in med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer som genomfördes digitalt via Zoom. Berättelserna från intervjuerna har analyserats och sammanställts genom en tematisk analys. Resultatet visar att enhetscheferna är begränsade i hanteringen av sjukfrånvaron på grund av organisatoriska förutsättningar vad gäller både de krav som ställs och de resurser som tilldelas. Denna studie bidrar med förståelse för vad organisatoriska förutsättningar betyder för enhetschefers möjlighet att hantera sjukfrånvaron i den kommunala äldreomsorgen. Studien visar också att medarbetaren har betydelse för enhetschefers förutsättningar att hantera sjukfrånvaron. / The municipals care for the elderly has a high level of sick leave among the employees, this creates work environment problems for the unit managers who finds this difficult to deal with. The purpose of this study is to create an understanding of unit managers' conditions for managing sick leave within municipal care for the elderly. Previous research is limited concerning unit managers' conditions for managing sickness absence. Politicians as employers have the legal responsibility and must direct the business to promote a good organizational, social and physical working environment. If there are insufficiencies in the work environment and conditions for managers', it will impact the entire organization. This study has been carried out with a qualitative approach with ten unit managers from two selected municipalities and combines theories about organizational conditions from an employee perspective. The empirical data has been collected by using semi-structured interviews that were conducted digitally via Zoom. The stories from the interviews have been analyzed and compiled througha thematic analysis. The result shows that the unit managers are limited in the management regarding sick leave due to organizational conditions in terms of both the demands made and the resources allocated. This study contributes with an understanding of what organizational conditions mean for unit managers' ability to manage sick leave in municipal care for the elderly. The study also shows that the employee is important for unit managers' conditions for managing sick leave.

Previous issue date: 2017-10-26 / Sem bolsa / O presente estudo enfocou os profissionais que trabalham em rede pública de atendimento aos idosos negligenciados ou socialmente vulneráveis. O aumento expressivo de pessoas idosas, na sociedade brasileira, e a previsão de um contingente ainda maior nas décadas futuras remetem os profissionais e a sociedade, como um todo, a criar estratégias para diminuir ou acabar com a negligência e a vulnerabilidade social praticada contra a pessoa idosa. O estudo teve como objetivo geral: compreender o significado do atendimento aos idosos negligenciados ou socialmente vulneráveis para os profissionais da rede pública. E quanto aos específicos: Conhecer a organização da rede pública de serviços no atendimento prestado aos idosos negligenciados ou socialmente vulneráveis; Identificar as ações prestadas pelos profissionais que promovem assistência aos idosos negligenciados ou socialmente vulneráveis. Esta pesquisa foi fundamentada na linha do interacionismo simbólico, devido contemplar não só a complexa relação entre a sociedade, indivíduo e rede de serviços de atendimento, mas, também, o desenvolvimento de símbolos significantes e o processo de comportamento da mente, a partir de uma orientação filosófica e de fatos da existência real. A metodologia proposta nessa tese foi de cunho qualitativo, caráter exploratório e de análise de conteúdo somativa. A pesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de ética da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Pelotas sob o parecer de número 2000.242, obedecendo aos preceitos éticos que direcionam a pesquisa com seres humanos no Brasil. A investigação transcorreu no município de Rio Grande/RS, cidade portuária, em que a população idosa apresenta uma estatística superior aos índices nacionais, sendo de 13,81%. A coleta de dados dessa averiguação transcursou por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, no período de abril a maio de 2017, com 21 participantes, sendo que 17 eram do sexo feminino, quatro masculino e na faixa etária entre 25 a 61anos. Quanto ao tempo de vinculação ao serviço variava entre 3 a 20 anos e com relação à formação profissional, 14 dos profissionais possuíam pós-graduação, nas áreas de Saúde Coletiva e Saúde da Família. A técnica de análise de conteúdo somativa ocorreu em três etapas: a pré-análise; a exploração do material que se repetia; a inferência e interpretação. Resultados: as entrevistas com os profissionais permitiram compreender que o profissional é o elo entre os dois mundos no atendimento ao idoso vulnerável e negligenciado, uma vez que ao atuar nesses universos, o profissional manifesta sentimentos diferenciados, ou seja, de satisfação com as resoluções dos casos e de frustração pela falta de apoio e sensibilidade dos gestores públicos em ofertar recursos suficientes para manutenção de um serviço proativo. Acredita-se que a vulnerabilidade e a negligência para o idoso só acabará ou minimizará se houver a mobilização dos profissionais e dos próprios idosos numa parceria de cidadania participativa. / The present study focused on professionals working in a public network of care for the neglected or socially vulnerable elderly. The significant increase in the number of elderly people in Brazilian society and the prediction of an even larger contingent in the coming decades remind professionals and society as a whole to create strategies to reduce or eliminate the neglect and social vulnerability practiced against elderly. The objective of the study was to understand the meaning of care for neglected or socially vulnerable elderly people in the public network. And as for the specific ones: To know the organization of the public network of services in the care provided to the neglected or socially vulnerable elderly; Identify the actions provided by professionals who provide care to the neglected or socially vulnerable elderly. This research was founded on the line of symbolic interactionism, due to not only the complex relationship between society, individual and the service network, but also the development of significant symbols and the process of behavior of the mind, from a philosophical orientation and facts of real existence. The methodology proposed in this thesis was qualitative, exploratory and analysis of summative content. The investigation was carried out in the city of Rio Grande / RS, a port city, where the elderly population has a statistic higher than the national indexes, being 13.81%. As far as the time of connection to the service varied between 3 to 20 years and in relation to the professional formation, 14 of the professionals had postgraduate, in the areas of Collective Health and Family Health. The technique of summative content analysis occurred in three stages: pre-analysis; the exploitation of the material that was repeated; the inference and interpretation. Results: interviews with professionals allowed us to understand that the professional is the link between the two worlds in the care of the vulnerable and neglected elderly, since when working in these universes, the professional expresses different feelings, that is, satisfaction with the resolutions of the cases and frustration due to the lack of support and sensitivity of the public managers in offering sufficient resources to maintain a proactive service. This diploma thesis is theoretical and is dedicated to old age and ageing. The aim of this diploma thesis is to summarize existing knowledge of old age and to view this final stage of human life from different perspectives and in various context. It is based on periodization of human life. It deals with the process of ageing and its progress, it lists definitions and theories on ageing and also discusses possible premises of longevity. It attempts to define old age and lists myths and prejudices associated with old age. It describes old age from different perspectives of multiple science fields, such as philosophy, biology, medicine, psychiatry, psychology, demography, sociology and social work. It depicts science fields concerned with old age and points out selected aspects of life that can influence elderly person, such as financial situation, housing situation, education, leisure activies, interpersonal relations. It also mentions possible crisis situations during old age, violence against elderly people and system of care of elderly people in the Czech republic. It explains the importance of adaptation during old age and outlines possible image of end of life. At the end of the thesis a set of recommendations for happy old age is included.
