Narrative Sinnstiftung in Organisationen: Ein Konzept zur Erforschung von Organisationen am Beispiel der stationären Altenpflege

Rätzer, Matthias 13 July 2015 (has links)

Storstadsregionernas social- och arbetsmarknadsförvaltningars tankar inom organisationsteoretiska frågor i förvaltningen : en skandinavisk institutionell analys / The perspectives of the metropolitan regions’ social and/respective labor market administrations regarding organizational theoretical issues

Gadderus Blom, Carolina, Gelotte, Amanda January 2024 (has links)
This study aims to explore the perspectives of the metropolitan regions’ social and/respective labor market administrations within organizational theoretical issues throughout a Scandinavian institutional analysis.  The study has been conducted with a triangulation method, which combines both qualitative and quantitative methods to increase the study's validity. Semi-structured interviews have been conducted with three administrative directors and three department heads from the regions Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. In addition, a questionnaire has been distributed to 60 respondents working within the social and/respective labor market administrations in the regions of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö to obtain a broader understanding of the organizational theoretical thoughts circulating within the administration. Of these respondents, 23 responded to the questionnaire. The study is based on a theoretical framework grounded in Scandinavian institutional theory. By analyzing the study´s empiricism through a discourse analysis and Scandinavian institutional theory, this research contributes to a broader understanding of organizational theoretical issues in a Swedish context within the social and/respective labor market administration.  The results of the study through the triangulation show that Stockholm’s and Gothenburg’s social respective labor market administrations have preserved stronger isomorphic traits compared to Malmö’s social and labor market administration, which has stronger traits of Scandinavian institutional theory. The tendencies from Scandinavian institutional theory in Malmö’s social and labor market administration point to the centralized reform that has been made there, which has meant that by merging the social and labor market administration, they have become such a large administration that the rigid way of governing (which to some extent led to decoupling, but also the spread of ideas and organizational change) has taken over too much, which has led the pendulum to swing back to a more trust-based governance as compensation for its size.  The differences between the regions suggest that they have different organizational structures, which affect their way of organizing and thus their scope of action. The study contributes to an increased understanding of how organizational theoretical issues are reflected within the social and/respective labor market administrations in the metropolitan regions of Sweden.

Exposure to Trauma and Its Effect on Information-Seeking Behaviors and Decision-Making Processes

Fantasia, Anthony Thomas 07 1900 (has links)
This dissertation examines the impact of trauma on information-seeking behaviors and decision-making processes. Essay 1 includes a qualitative analysis of the transcripts obtained from interviews with four military service members diagnosed with PTSD. The results showed that 75% of this small sample population exhibited addictive behavior that was presented in their information behaviors. All four members indicated that the excessive extent to which they seek information is related to the perceived importance of the information and their level of trust in the sources. Low trust in information sources increases the number of sources searched for validation in this population. Essay 2 involved the collection and analysis of survey data. The results of the stepwise backward regression show that two trauma variables (adult sexual assault, sudden fear) have a significant combined negative effect on decision-making in this population. The analysis and results of a different survey are presented in Essay 3. The stepwise logistic regression analysis results conducted on the summated scales developed showed a strong positive link between trust in scientific experts for scientific information and the dichotomous dependent variable trust in social media for news. The research conducted in this dissertation extends the understanding of how trauma affects people's information-seeking habits and decision-making processes. The findings have implications for how to communicate, policies relevant to information dissemination, and mental health measures. Future research is suggested to understand these behaviors and potential treatments better.

Kenosis and identities: pneumatological pointers

Nigrini, Jacques 11 1900 (has links)
In the thesis a methodology of understanding and explicating Christian faith consistent with the mystery of the simultaneous close connection and radical difference of God, human beings and the physical-organic cosmos environment is been mapped out. The theanthropocosmic principle as an expression of the mystery functions as the heuristic key in opening up the notion of kenosis (and incarnation) of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within the scope of the enduring interaction of . The Spirit in the kenotic sense of the word connects and differentiates the overall processes of being and becoming, here and there, now and then of the mystery of the `presences' of God, human beings and the natural cosmic world in being there (Dasein), being thus and thus (Sosein) and being dynamically actual (Aktsein). God acts in terms of the Spirit's operational kenotic presence within the margins of the creatureliness of people and the natural cosmic world as the kenotic clothing of God. A dynamic interpretation of the integral and differential character of being and becoming suggests that making sense of the dynamics of the formation of identities and identification is an ever ongoing endeavour. It implies a continuous process of negotiation whilst experiencing various continuums, remaining open-ended in an ever-increasing sense of wonder and mystery of "exitus a Deo-reditus in Deum". / Systematic Theology and theological Ethics / D. Evil and suffering in the light of creation, reconciliation renewal and consummation-multicultural : multi religious dimensions of the HIV/AIDS problem

Hearn, Louisa Jacoba 07 1900 (has links)
Evil and suffering are a constant reality of this world and major catastrophes and issues such as swine flu and bird flu gain enormous relief funding, media coverage and frantic government action, yet HIV/AIDS, a cause of immeasurable suffering after years of being in the public spotlight receded into the background. This study grapples with evil and suffering in the light of creation, reconciliation, renewal and consummation from the viewpoint of a diversity of cultures and religions, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS. The cluster of sin, evil and suffering are reflected upon and this revolves around five angles: firstly, multicultural and multi-religious sense making God-human-world approaches; secondly, the mystery of the simultaneity of the close connection and radical otherness of: God, being human and the natural world; thirdly, the full Gospel of God’s grand acts of creation, reconciliation, renewal and consummation; fourthly, different approaches towards texts, theories, natural processes and human doings; and fifthly, the multidimensionality of God, human beings and the natural world. In the thesis the origin of evil and suffering is discussed, which leads to a discussion of dualist views, amongst others, Zoroastrianism and its influence on modern monotheistic religions. Moreover, the response of the major faith groups towards evil and suffering are discussed and consensibly negotiated with the purpose of achieving better co-operation between faith groups in their tackling of HIV/AIDS. An attempt at establishing the outlines of a theology of HIV/AIDS is considered as well as the role, value and enhancement of faith counseling. Modern and postmodern views of evil and suffering are touched upon especially regarding the close proximity of God, humanity and the natural world to the sufferer. Despite significant differences in the various faith systems, sufficient commonality around respect for human beings is found to exist. Finally, in terms of consensible negotiation of portions of the various scriptures a way forward is envisaged that undergirds the notion of solidarity in support of HIV/AIDS sufferers in various faith systems. / Systematic Theology and Theological Ethics / D.Th. The centrality of Jesus Christ in God's acts of creation, reconciliation, renewal and fulfilment : the views of John Calvin and Ellen G White

Jones, Patrick Patrese 05 1900 (has links)
In John Calvin and Ellen G White’s sense making approaches God’s act of redemption and reconciliation in and through Jesus Christ takes the centre stage in the foursome of God’s acts expressed in the biblical historical timeline as creation, reconciliation in Jesus Christ, renewal through the Holy Spirit and fulfilment at the end of time. While the 16th century Calvin emphasised God’s acts of creation and reconciliation in Christ more than God’s acts of renewal and fulfilment, the 19th century White’s emphasis was more on God’s acts of reconciliation in Christ and fulfilment at the end of time than on creation and renewal through the Spirit. With all the differences in their sense making approaches their central perspectival focus in their writings, sayings and doings is the way God and humanity, heaven and earth are closely connected in a unity without being fused and mixed in Jesus Christ. Their central christological theme of ‘God staying God’ and ‘human staying human’ in an interactional substantialist sense in Christ designates the great alternative view that differs on the one hand, from the view of the trans-substantialist option in which the human being Christ Jesus is in a sacramental-sacred way transformed into ‘a divine human being’ –, and on the other hand, the view of the consubstantialist option in which the human being Jesus is permeated and diffused by his divinity, thereby becoming ‘the human God.’ Calvin and White in their reflection operating within the realm of divine historicity that is staying within the biblical historical timeline from Genesis to Revelation were viewed by many as not theologians in the real sense of the word. Calvin and may be to a greater extent White worked and contributed to the new and emerging field of Faith Studies in which a theologian or theorist of faith cannot reflect on God, human beings or the natural cosmic world in three separate avenues as was commonly the case with speculative and scholastic theologies in history. White’s Faith Studies contribution is in the global arena of theology where the omnipresent ‘–logies’ of mainline church theologies such as Christology, Ecclesiology, Pneumatology and Eschatology hold sway.

Fragile identities, patched-up worlds : Dementia and meaning-making in social interaction / Fragila identiteter och en hoplappad värld : Demens och meningsskapande i socialt samspel

Örulv, Linda January 2008 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the identity work and the meaning- or sense-making that continue in the face of evolving dementia diseases, in social interaction, and the challenges for care this involves. The study adopts an actor-oriented approach and addresses the question of how persons with age-related progressive dementia diseases in everyday communication make sense of their situations, their surroundings, and their lives – all within the context of daily life in residential care. Of particular interest is how these persons handle issues of joint action in a shared world and how they establish and maintain an identity in the inte-raction. This is in spite of severe memory problems, disorientation in time and space, dif-fering understandings of the current situation, and difficulties in telling “accurate” and temporally ordered stories about their lives. The thesis also addresses the question of how caregivers may handle the complex interplay between residents in daily care, in maintain-ing and respecting these persons’ dignity. The study follows a growing tradition of studying interaction in dementia as mean-ing-based and situated in a context rather than merely as behavior caused by cognitive impairment. Methodologically, this is an ethnographic study based on observations made within a period of six months. The data consist of around 150 hours of video recordings and complementary field notes. This extensive material has made it possible to study the social interaction both in detail and situated in a larger context. The findings point to remaining competences and strategies that persons with demen-tia use actively and creatively in the ongoing interaction – and, given the premises, often in a rational way. This is discussed in terms of resources for dementia care, in relation to the great challenge of patching up and putting together a comprehensive socially shared world as well as maintaining continuity with the persons’ previous life histories in a way that preserves a positive self-identity.

Förståelse vid krishantering

Wedebrand, Christoffer January 2017 (has links)

Jordan, Margit 04 September 2008 (has links)
The didactics of adult education are usually studied with normative and deductive analytical instruments, which tend to produce results that merely confirm the researcher’s initial observations. This dissertation—an ethnomethodological case study—develops an analytical model for helping the learning facilitator arrive at the self-explication of a specific empirical and didactic reality by interpreting its constituent social and behavioral patterns and aspects through an abductive procedure the author calls “hermeneutics of action”. It effectively informs the decoding of both a specific and an overall context. This analytical tool, which the author comes to name the “everyday didactic configuration model”,can illuminate the inside and outside perspectives on one’s own pedagogical techniques. The model is intended as a contribution to theory-building fruitful for the andragogical community of practice.
