[pt] A LUTA DAS MULHERES É LEVADA NOS OSSOS DO PEITO: MULHERES CAMPONESAS EM SANTA CATARINA E O CAMINHO DA LUTA POR DIREITOS / [en] THE STRUGGLE OF WOMEN IS TAKEN IN THE BREAST BONE: PEASANT WOMEN IN SANTA CATARINA AND THE PATH OF STRUGGLE FOR RIGHTS

CAROLINE ARAUJO BORDALO 15 January 2018 (has links)
[en] The organization of rural women s movements during the 1980s brought to the fore a process that articulated different forms of resistance and mobilization in the struggle for rights and recognition of the work performed by women in rural Brazil. By claiming their recognition as a rural worker and, therefore, denouncing their exclusion from spaces of political representation, these movements mobilize fundamental elements for understanding the sexual division of labor in rural areas as well as the itineraries that define trajectories and forms of political socialization of these women. Based on the study of the Movement of Peasant Women in the West of the State of Santa Catarina (MMC-SC), organized more than three decades ago, the thesis shows how in this context the formation of a struggle understood as rural women and notion of autonomy as justification for the existence of movements formed exclusively by women emerges as a crucial aspect in the struggle for rights. From a qualitative approach, the research explores these relationships that involve the history of occupation and colonization of the region, the sexual division of work, the forms of organization and political socialization in order to understand how these are translated in terms of demands for The MMC-SC. Viewed from this perspective, we do not privilege the observance of a specific conflict, but rather of the social fabric that allowed the emergence of the movement and the engagement of these women over the years. This perspective also gives a less normative view of these experiences of political making, distancing itself from classifications or typologies defined a priori.

[en] This work uses the sociology of social movements to describe the contemporary Brazilian women s movement and its relation to democracy in the democratic period begun in the 1980s. The objective of the research is to point out elements that explain the dynamics of the Brazilian women s movement, the characteristics of its organization along the process constructing the political subject and its collective political action in the struggle for the conquest of rights. In presenting three strategies of political influence of the women s movement – namely public policies for women, domestic work and facing violence against women –, the study establishes the direct relation of the action of this social movement with the conquest and application of rights such as specific public policies to increase women s citizenship, labor legislation for domestic workers, and a specialized law to end domestic violence against women.

LULEÅS FOLKBIBLIOTEKSUTVECKLING UR ETT GENUSPERSPEKTIV : - med fokus på centralbibliotekarien Olga Bardh

Bergenudd, Linnéa January 2020 (has links)

[en] DIALOGUES AND TENSIONS BETWEEN THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR WOMEN S RIGHTS (CNDM) AND THE UNIFIED BLACK MOVEMENT (MNU): A LOOK BACK AT THE BRAZILIAN WOMEN S LETTER TO THE CONSTITUENTS AND THE MNU PAPERS / [pt] DIÁLOGOS E TENSÕES ENTRE O CONSELHO NACIONAL DOS DIREITOS DA MULHER (CNDM) E O MOVIMENTO NEGRO UNIFICADO (MNU): UM OLHAR SOBRE A CARTA DAS MULHERES BRASILEIRAS AOS CONSTITUINTES E OS PERIÓDICOS DO MNU

DEBORA CASTILHO MOREIRA SILVA LOBO 13 May 2022 (has links)
[en] In a period marked by repression during the military dictatorship in Brazil, when there was a worsening in the economic situation of the majority of the black and poor population abandoned by the State, social movements have managed to gain visibility for the struggle for rights and for the return or democracy. From analyzing primary sources – the Brazilian Women s Letter to the Constituents prepared by the National Council for Women s Rights (CNDM) and the Unified Black Movement (MNU) papers, including the document prepared by the Black National Convention for the Constituent Assembly –, it was possible to realize that, during the elaboration of the Constitution of 1988, the Black Women s Movement has established dialogues marked by tensions with MNU and the women who belong to CNDM in the Feminist Movement. This has promoted dialogues also marked by tensions between CNDM and MNU due to the convergence of proposals that deal with sensitive issues to the black community, black women in particular, in the Brazilian Women s Letter to the Constituents and in the demands present in the Unified Black Movement papers, with special emphasis on the document of the Black National Convention for the Constituent Assembly. These documents have influenced the rights provided for in the Constitution of 1988, which are currently threatened in times of reactionary agendas linked to the authoritarian exercise of politics.

In Brazil, the women s movement has been recognized due to its capacity in trying to build consensus strategies within the diversity of its organizations and networks in important periods of the political history of the country, in order to be able to strengthen with it its position in the opposition or negotiation with the State. The objective of the research was to establish the relationship of the social movement with the government in terms of gender issues in public policies, reflecting the women s movement as a collective subject in the construction of the proposal for a popular political project. We defined as object those actions from the Lula government through the Special Secretariat for Women s Policies (SPM) that have come true through policies for women after the implementation of the I National Plan for Women s Policies (PNPM) in 2005. This is a social qualitative research which has been organized in three different phases: the first one was the bibliographical and documental research; the second was the field research with interviews with representatives of the government and the women s movement, and, finally, the third one, the systematization and the research analysis. The research revealed that the creation of a body like a SPM and the I PNPM were crucial in order to progress in public policies and programmers for women, recognizing that the construction of those policies is a process disputed by different political projects in society where the studies of the relationship between the government and the movement, and of the latter with its grassroots reveals a lot about the space occupied by women in the political stage and about the progress achieved / Ao longo da história, as mulheres têm se somado às lutas mais gerais, buscando também respostas para suas demandas específicas.

The objective is to describe and to analyze creation processes and scenic results of the following theatrical plays: Making history through struggle (2008) and agro-ecological stories, Peasant women s stories (2009), staged by the Resistance and Art group. The first play portrayed the 25 years of MMC/SC s activism. The second one, directed by myself, addressed some issues related to the agro-ecological approach defended by the movement. The analysis of both plays draws upon sociological theories about social movements, feminist theatre poetics and gender theories, focusing the suggestions of both directors and their relationship with the aesthetical and cultural references of the movement s peasant women / Este trabalho apresenta o Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas em Santa Catarina MMCSC, para focar suas práticas teatrais recentes.

Visual And Verbal Rhetoric In Howard Chandler Christy's War-related Posters Of Women During The World War I Era: A Feminist

Gomrad, Mary Ellen 01 January 2007 (has links)
This thesis explores the development of a series of posters created by Howard Chandler Christy during the World War I era. During this time, Christy was a Department of Pictorial Publicity (DPP) committee artist commissioned by the committee chair, Charles Dana Gibson. The DPP was part of the Committee on Public Information (CPI) developed by the Woodrow Wilson administration to generate the propaganda necessary to gain the support of the American people to enter World War I. The CPI was headed up by George Creel, a journalist and politician, who used advertising techniques to create the first full-scale propaganda effort in United States history. American poster images of women during World War I represent an era when propaganda posters came of age. These iconographic interpretations depicted in political propaganda helped shape the history of the twentieth century. While exploring these portrayals of women, the observer looks through a historical lens to contemplate the role of propaganda in the American war effort, while considering the disparity between images of women and the reality of their experiences in the patriarchal society in which they lived. Howard Chandler Christy's war-related posters represented the gendered rhetoric of a social order that functioned under the well-established assumption that men and women both had their place in society based on gender-specific stereotypic characteristics. Women were central to propaganda posters from this era; their images were widely used in posters encouraging Americans to support the war effort. With few exceptions, these representations perpetuated traditional concepts of appropriate gender roles. Posters often used women as icons characterizing the nation in time of war. For example, a beautiful woman, with a backdrop of the United States flag or sometimes even dressed in Old Glory, suggested why the nation was fighting. Some posters explicitly used beautiful women to signify that America's honor was at stake and we needed fighting men to protect it. The poster art form spread rapidly during the early twentieth century, putting a woman in her place rather than challenging the historical circumstances that created the complex, problematic issues related to the visual representation. Reading these posters as cultural texts, it is apparent that women's images are central to gaining an understanding of the social norms and cultural expectations.

Frauenliteratur

Folie, Sandra 27 April 2017 (has links) (PDF)

Feministische Filmtheorie

Gradinari, Irina 27 April 2017 (has links) (PDF)
Gesucht werden u. a.

Häußler, Ursula 02 November 2006 (has links)
With its specific interest in the organology metaphor this study creates a new way of understanding political ideas of the first half of the 19th century. It points out that the comparision of state and society with a living body is not only a stylistic pattern but a collectively shared fundamental mentality that influenced the political philosophy of the beginning modern age. This is shown by a synchronic analysis of essential and fundamental texts of the six important political movements of the first half of the 19th century - Communism, the democratic and the women''s movement, Liberalism, Conservatism and the political Catholicism. All political philosophies use the demiurgic power of the organology metaphor to design world, state and society in a way that they appear as organisms, which are propelled in their development by hardly influencable natural powers. Likewise all philosophies mould the organisation of state and society according to the pattern of a living organism, in which the whole body and its parts mutually depend on each other. By supposing different natural forces working in men and women also the sexes are positioned differently in the collective body. This study first presents these common uses of the organology metaphor through all political movements and the fundamental mentality of the beginning modern age shown by these. After that it focusses on the specific uses of the organology metaphor and their implications in each text.
