Abstract Embodied evolves around the tactility of the present body, in relation to the eternal absence and the perishability of itself end the world that surrounds it. I work with ceramic sculpture, where the body in relation to the material and the world is both my theme and my method. The body is always present and a basic condition to experience and make objects; it is the subject, the objectand the execution in my work. The written part of my examwork is based on my process and studiowork.

This paper is about the communication of bullying, and its aim is to shift the focus from the individual’s problem to the collective mind. Scientists have concluded that bullying is the result of a group behaviour, where the individual aims to be a part of the group, or control its peers. Despite this, it is mainly the image of the individual that is communicated as a representation of the subject. This leads to the people that aren’t directly involved with the subject to become distansed and uninterested in any real change. This project has taken inspiration from the people rights movements, where the individual problem (alcoholism, unemployment, etcetera) became a problem of society. What would happen if bullying became as urgent? With illustration as a tool, the project aims to involve and engage the audience at Konstfack Spring Degree Exhibition 2016 towards a larger movement that is anti-bullying. This paper will first deal with the topic of bullying, and then move towards how bullying is presented and communicated, and then end up with an artistic piece that aims to change the traditional way of speaking of bullying.

Denna uppsats är till sin form en reflekterande vetenskaplig essä som undersöker en normkritisk jämlikhetsarbetares praktiska kunnande och yrkesvillkor. Författarens egen yrkeserfarenhet finns med i form av en berättelse från ett genusprojekt inom högre skådespelarutbildning. Denna dilemmasituation bildar utgångspunkt för ett undersökande i dialog med historiska och samtida tänkare och praktiker. Framträdande i undersökningen är Aristoteles kunskapsbegrepp fronesis – den praktiska klokheten. Undersökningen beskriver några av de komplexiteter som finns i att bedriva ett arbete som utmanar maktordningar i en organisation och visar att det krävs praktisk klokhet för att hantera motstånd, starka känslor och våld. / This reflective scientific essay examines the practical knowledge of the equality worker involved with anti-oppressive education in a Swedish context, where the term “norm critique” is used. The writers personal experience is included in the work, in the form of a narrative from a “messy situation” in a project centered on gender perspectives in actor training. This dilemma is the starting point for an inquiry in dialogue with contemporary and historical thinkers and practitioners. Prominently in the essay is Aristotle's term for skill and practical wisdom, phronesis. The inquiry describes some of the complexities that lies in doing counter hegemonic work within organizations and it shows that this kind of work demands practical wisdom to be able to handle resistance, strong emotions and violence.

This study researches questions concerning arts education and critical thinking. The study poses two questions. What strategies for critical thinking are revealed in conversation with five art educators? And how can art education be a suitable platform for critical thinking?  The Swedish school authorities have set out strong general guidelines concerning the need for schools to develop students skills in critical thinking. This subject is traditionally focused on the social sciences yet this study wants to go into how critical thinking may be integrated and used in art education. The data from the study is presented in six themes; “self reflection”, “conscious planning”, “making the many perspectives visible”, “giving space for individual expression”, “trust, safety and relationships”, and “norms”. These themes are then critically appraised in the light of “norm criticism”, a contemporary social theory that works with questioning the societal norms around subjects such as gender, race, sexuality. The study shows many important strategies for critical thinking in the concerned group of educators. The educators assert the need for appropriate planning, creating a safe and encouraging space for students to express their thoughts and feelings in their art work and in critical analyses of pictures and discussions concerning societal norms. Although the study has its limitations – it’s based on data from a small group, who were partly selected out of their interest in the subject of critical thinking – it suggests that there are many good reasons to work more deeply with critical thinking in art education. Art education also has the advantage of creativity and the work with picture analyses. Using their own individual expression students may learn a more intimate understanding of what critical thinking really means, not only as a mere thought process, but a bodily, practical understanding. Further studies would be good and could e.g. include an ethnological study of the current condition of critical thinking in Swedish art education of today. The study includes a figuration which is inspired by theme ”trust, safety and relationships” and is called  ”Trygga rum”, “The Safe Space”. “The Safe Space” a three part sculpture made out of a combination of metal and textile in the shape of cocoons (and sound installation), representing the qualities of safety as a crucial part of the processes of developing critical thinking.

Problemformulering: Det är intressant att studera hur konsumenter upplever att förpackningar, som kan användas av alla, inriktas mot ett specifikt kön. Genom att studera detta kan vår normkritiska ansats ge fördjupad kunskap om genussegmentering på förpackningar.
Syfte: Syftet med studien är att utifrån ett normkritiskt perspektiv undersöka hur visuella attribut på genussegmenterade förpackningar uppfattas av ett urval konsumenter. Vidare är syftet att få förståelse för vilka visuella attribut som representerar en genusinriktning på förpackningar.
Metod och material: Detta är en kvalitativ undersökning som består av en innehållsanalys, experimentell metod samt enkätundersökning. De material som bearbetades var; 100 stycken förpackningar inom innehållsanalysen; sex stycken fiktiva förpackningar som resulterade ur experimentell metod; samt 154 deltagare i enkätundersökningen.
Huvudresultat: Studiens huvudresultat landade i att färger styr förpackningens uppfattade representation. Vidare resulterade studiens genererade svar i att människor uppfattar förpackningars representation på olika sätt. Detta göra de utifrån egna åsikter och tolkningar inom meningsskapande.

Könsnormen styr hur vi beter oss i mötet med andra människor och kan förhindra jämställdheten. Dessutom fostras barn in i könsroller i tidiga åldrar och därför blir det viktigt att redan i förskolan uppmärksamma och arbeta med ämnet genus. I den här studien undersöks det hur könsnormer problematiseras i boksamtal med förskolebarn genom en observation av hur barn och en vuxen samtalar om genus utifrån barnböcker. Därmed lyder forskningsfrågan: Hur samtalar barnen och den vuxne med varandra om genus utifrån barnböcker? Studien har utgångspunkt i ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv. Undersökningen genomfördes på en förskola i södra Sverige, i den valdes tre grupper ut som läste och samtalade om två böckers innehåll och budskap i relation till genus. Boksamtalen ljudinspelades och transkriberades, samt analyserades utifrån en innehållsanalys. I resultatet framgår det att barnens tolkning av könsnormen skiljer sig åt eftersom de har olika föreställningar om vad som är stereotypt för flickor och pojkar. Slutsatsen är att barnen och den vuxne samtalar om genus utifrån de kunskaper som redan är befästa, det vill säga sin egen förståelse av genus. I boksamtalen problematiseras könsnormer genom att den vuxne ställer utmanande frågor om normerna till barnen som de sedan fortsätter att diskutera i interaktion med varandra.

GET A GRIP - köksutensilier för jämställdhet är ett projekt som uppmärksammar hur normer och traditioner i kockyrket och produktdesign påverkar upprätthållandet av ojämställda arbetsförhållanden. Projektet har resulterat i ett designförslag på en stekpanna som på sikt kan påverka frågor om jämställdhet bland kockar. Designförslaget är en kombination av formstudie, ergonomisk studie och normkritisk studie som både uppmuntrar och kommenterar designerns ansvar under produktutveckling. Projektet har genomförts tillsammans med yrkesaktiva kockar och lärare inom hotell och restauranghögskolan, campus Grythyttan. Stor vikt har lagts i co-design, där kockarna har varit utgångspunkt för produktens formgivning. Olika metoder för gestaltning och prototyparbete har kombinerats och resulterat i ett slutligt designförslag av en stekpanna som ställts ut på Konstfacks vårutställning 2019. Några av dessa metoder är skulptering i techclay, handskisser, 3D skisser och arbete i CAD program, 3D print, 3D scan och efterarbeten och färgsättning.

Syftet med studien är att ta reda på om Sveriges största förlag inom barnlitteratur Bonnier Carlsen och ett av Sveriges mindre förlag Olika förlag skiljer sig ifråga om normer, genus och etnicitet i deras barnlitteratur. Vi tittar på hur flickor och pojkar framställs i böckerna, vilka normer som finns, om det finns med personer med annan etnicitet än skandinavisk etc. Vi har valt tre stycken böcker från vardera förlag med liknande handling och genre. De genrer vi valt är hästböcker, fotbollsböcker och skräckböcker. Böckerna vi fokuserar på är för åldrarna 6-9 år. Vi har analyserat böckerna enskilt för att sedan jämföra dem med varandra. I resultatet kan vi se att det skiljer sig en del förlagen emellan. Vi fick ett tydligt resultat att böckerna från Olika förlag har mycket fokus på frågor som rör genus, normer och etnicitet medan böckerna från Bonnier Carlsen inte har lika mycket fokus på det. Böckerna från Olika förlag har med fler karaktärer som har en annan etnicitet än skandinavisk samt att de böckerna var mer normbrytande.

Our thesis is an analysis of four librarians view on LGBTQ and which implications these views have on the practical work with LGBTQ issues in the public library. The three ideal types we can identify are the excluding, the including, and the normcritical approach. We also want to know if the four librarians’ standpoints can be connected to the above mentioned ideal types. We can see that the area where the implementations of the three ideal types are most visible is the way LGBTQ material is displayed in the library space. An example of this is whether the library chooses to have a special LGBTQ shelf or not. Public libraries in Sweden are supposed to serve all patrons. In order to do so it is critical for the users who define themselves as LGBTQ to be able to find literature that reflect their identity. Novels with a LGBTQ-theme are hard to find in public libraries. We have come to the conclusion that education of the staff, whether longer or shorter, can make big difference in the library. / Program: Bibliotekarie
