Alguns professores e bibliotecários escolares preocupam-se apenas com a orientação na aquisição de habilidades para o uso dos recursos tecnológicos na localização de informação. Esquecem que a ambiência da biblioteca, maior que seu espaço físico, deve alcançar os lares dos alunos, salas de aula e outros aportes de apoio pedagógico. Sendo assim, procurou-se responder questões como: O bibliotecário sabe que é um mediador? Como tem sido esta mediação? O bibliotecário acompanha as mudanças tecnológicas, inserindo-as em seu fazer cotidiano? A virtualização da informação facilita o uso das fontes/recursos de pesquisa e a capacidade de selecionar informação e ampliar conhecimento? O estudo teve como objetivos: avaliar a percepção do bibliotecário quanto a sua responsabilidade cotidiana em mediar a pesquisa escolar, independentemente da ambiência em que se encontra; analisar a postura e as habilidades técnicas/cognitivas do bibliotecário na mediação da pesquisa em um momento de crescente virtualização da informação; verificar o processo de utilização de recursos tecnológicos na busca de informação; identificar a existência de parceria entre bibliotecário e professor na prática da pesquisa escolar; obter subsídios para propostas de projetos/ações que visem busca de soluções para que a pesquisa escolar atinja seus objetivos.Buscou-se embasamento teórico por meio da literatura pertinente e para coleta de dados aplicou-se uma entrevista focalizada com o profissional bibliotecário em seis escolas de ensino fundamental da cidade de Londrina. / In parallel with the advancement of technology and use of the term the knowledge society, realizes it is people who do not know sign to the satisfaction surveys and readings. Some teachers and school librarians concern itself only with the guidance in the acquisition of skills for the use of technological resources in tracking information. Forget that the environment of the library, more than its physical space, must reach the homes of students, classrooms and other contributions of teaching materials. Therefore, it is answering questions such as: The librarian knows who is a mediator? As has been the mediation? The librarian accompanies technological change, inserting them into their daily lives do? The virtualization of the information facilitates the use of sources / resources research and the ability to select information and expand knowledge? The study aimed to: assess the perception of the librarian as its responsibility in daily mediate the search school, regardless of the environment in which it is; examine the attitude and technical skills / knowledge of the librarian in mediation of the search in a time of growing virtualization of documents; verify the process of the use of technological resources in the search for information; identify the existence of partnership between librarian and professor in the practice of research school; obtain subsidies for proposals for projects / activities aimed at finding solutions to the search school reaches its objectives. Intent is a theoretical through the relevant literature and to collect data applied to be a focused interview with the professional librarian in six schools of basic education of the city of Londrina.

Esta pesquisa histórica tem como objetivo recuperar e reinterpretar dados sobre a relação estabelecida entre o poder oficial e a constituição da biblioteca pública no Brasil, especialmente durante os regimes de exceção: a Era Vargas e o Regime Militar. Entretanto, para contextualizar esse objeto, tivemos que estender essa linha do tempo para o passado, e recuperar as origens da prática censória à liberdade de expressão do pensamento, e para o futuro, em razão da tendência à reedição de ciclos, políticas e decisões oficiais cada vez mais sofisticadas para fazer frente às manifestações sociais que reivindicam práticas democráticas justas e igualitárias. Por meio de uma análise qualitativa, pudemos recuperar a gênese da formação do bibliotecário e da Biblioteconomia como área de atuação técnica e científica no Brasil. Destacamos também a importância da biblioteca pública como espaço para a preservação e acesso à diversidade de pensamento e acesso ao conhecimento plural e libertário. Explicitamos ainda a necessidade de desenvolvimento do potencial político tanto do profissional quanto desse campo do conhecimento que ainda deverá se tornar manifesto como alternativa nesta trajetória de contínua transformação e evolução na prestação de um serviço de utilidade pública e emancipação social. / This historical research has the objective to recover and reinterpret data about the relation established between the official power and the constitution of the public library in Brazil, especially during the regime of exception regime: Vargas Era and Military Regime. However, in order to contextualize this object, we had to extend this timeline to the past, and reclaim the origins of the censorship practice to freedom of thought, and to the future, due to the tendency of official reprint cycles, every time more sophisticated to be able to cope with the social manifestations that have claimed for democratic, fair and equalitarian practices. Through a qualitative analysis, we could recover the genesis of the training of librarians and Librarianship as an area of technical and scientific activities in Brazil. We also highlight the importance of the public library as a space for preservation and access to diversity of thought and access to knowledge plural and libertarian. We explain the need for developing the political potential of both the professional and this field of knowledge - which is yet to become clear - as an alternative course of this ongoing transformation and evolution in providing service of public utility and social emancipation.

Med bakgrund i att samhället blir allt mer digitaliserat är studiens syfte att undersöka bibliotekariers upplevelser av kommunikation med biblioteksbesökare och sin folkbildande roll. Fokus för studien är bibliotekariernas egen upplevelse vilket resulterat i att en kvalitativ metod med intervjuer har använts. Studiens resultat visar att bibliotekarier upplever att kommunikation och ett gott bemötande är av stor vikt, både i det fysiska och det digitala rummet. Bibliotekarier upplever även att de har relevant kompetens för yrket, men att grundutbildningen saknar ämnesområden som pedagogiskt bemötande och IT. Studiens resultat visar även att bibliotekarier upplever att de kontinuerligt måste hålla sig ajour inom IT och de upplever att en alltmer digitaliserad biblioteksverksamhet bidrar till att den digitala delaktigheten bland medborgarna ökar i samhället. Studiens bidrag till forskningen resulterar i en förståelse för hur folkbiblioteken, som en mötesplats samt en plats för informations- och kunskapsinhämtning, samspelar med medborgarna i samhället. / Given that society is becoming increasingly digital, this studies’ purpose is to examine librarian’s experiences of communication with library visitors and their educational role. The focus of the study is on the librarian’s own experience therefore a qualitative method with interviews has been used. The results of the study show that librarian’s feel that communication and a welcoming approach are of great importance, both in the physical and the digital space. Librarian’s also feel that they have relevant skills for the profession, but that undergraduate education lacks subject areas such as pedagogical approach and IT. The results of the study also show that librarian’s feel that they continually must keep up to date with IT and they feel that an increasingly digital library activity contributes to the digital participation among citizens increasing in society. This studies’ contribution to research results in an understanding of how public libraries, as meeting place and a place for information and knowledge gathering, interact with the citizens in society.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the professional identities oflibrarians with special focus on User Experience (UX). To achieve this aimwe have used the four professional identities described by Jenny Lindberg,the communicative identity, the technical identity, the academic identity andthe conservative identity. We have interviewed seven librarians at fivedifferent academic libraries in Sweden that works with UX. In the analysis ofour empirical material we found that the identity most represented among theinformants was the communicative identity while the conservative identitywas seen by the informants as their anthesis. Furthermore we added apotential fifth identity, the progressive identity.

Vägen till läslust : En kvalitativ studie om hur lärare och skolbibliotekarier såväl enskilt som gemensamt kan stimulera elevernas läslust / A desire to read : A qualitative study of how teachers and school librarians can stimulate students' reading desire

Syftet med studien är att bidra med kunskap om mellanstadielärare och skolbibliotekariers uppfattningar om läslust och på vilka sätt den kan stimuleras genom undervisning och annat läsfrämjande arbete, samt vilken betydelse lärare och skolbibliotekarier har för elevernas läslust. Studien bygger på tre lärares och två skolbibliotekariers uppfattningar varvid en kvalitativ metod och en fenomenografisk metodansats har använts. Datainsamlingen har genomförts i form av tematiska semistrukturerade intervjuer. Studiens teoretiska utgångspunkt grundar sig i det sociokulturella perspektivets syn på lärande som genomsyrar studiens samtliga delar med undantag från dataanalysen, vilken genomfört utifrån en fenomenografisk analysmodell. Resultatet visar att det finns ett antal faktorer som anses vara fördelaktiga i det läsfrämjande arbetet. Exempelvis framhåller lärarna att det är viktigt att vara insatt i elevernas läsning och påvisa ett eget intresse för böcker och läsning. Ytterligare anses det egna valet av litteratur och möjligheten till schemalagd läsning i skolan ha positiva effekter på elevernas läslust. Högläsning, social interaktion, läsförståelse och en god läsförmåga betraktas också som gynnsamma faktorer. Skolbibliotekarierna konstaterar att ett inbjudande skolbibliotek där böcker frontas och synliggörs är viktigt för att eleverna ska kunna finna böcker av intresse. Vidare framhålls att ett gediget utbud av ny och aktuell litteratur tenderar att stimulera elevernas läslust. Dessutom anser de att en personlig relation till eleverna är en förutsättning för att sedermera kunna guida och vägleda dem i sina litterära val. Bokprat lyfts fram som en viktig läsfrämjande insats med syfte att inspirera och stimulera eleverna till läsning. Avslutningsvis menar skolbibliotekarierna att lästävlingar, läsutmaningar, bibliotekraster och bokcirklar är ytterligare tillvägagångsätt för att stimulera elevernas läslust. The data collection has been carried out in the form of thematic semi-structured interviews. The study's theoretical starting point is based on the socio-cultural perspective's view of learning that permeates all parts of the study with the exception of the data analysis, which was carried out on the basis of a phenomenographic analysis model. The results show that there are a number of factors that are considered to be beneficial in the reading promotion work. For example, teachers emphasize that it is important to be familiar with students' reading and demonstrate their own interest in books and reading. Furthermore, one's own choice of literature and the possibility of scheduled reading in school are considered to have positive effects on students' desire to read. Reading aloud, social interaction, reading comprehension and a good reading ability are also considered favorable factors. The school librarians state that an inviting school library where books are fronted and made visible is important for the students to be able to find books of interest. Additionally, it is emphasized that a solid range of new and current literature tends to stimulate students' desire to read. In addition, they believe that a personal relationship with the students is a prerequisite for later being able to guide and guide them in their literary choices. Book talk is highlighted as an important reading promotion effort with the aim of inspiring and stimulating students to read. In conclusion, the school librarians believe that reading competitions, reading challenges, library breaks and book circles are further approaches to stimulate students' desire to read. Als zentrales Forum im Bibliothekswesen dient der jährliche stattfindende Deutsche Bibliothekartag mit Vorträgen, Podiumsdiskussionen und Firmenausstellungen (siehe S. 104). Anforderungen spezieller Bibliothekstypen werden zudem im Rahmen kleinerer Fachtagungen aufgegriffen, die in der Regel durch entsprechende Berufsverbände oder Arbeitsgemeinschaften organisiert werden. Sie existieren zum Beispiel für Kunst- und Museumsbibliotheken, medizinische Einrichtungen oder Gefangenenbüchereien.

Die Verbindung von wissenschaftlicher Forschung und Lehre mit den beruflichen Verpflichtungen an den beiden Dresdner Bibliotheken stellt bis heute ein wenig beachtetes Faktum dar. Die über Jahrhunderte gewachsenen reichen Bestände an wissenschaftlicher Literatur waren wie in anderen vergleichbaren Bibliotheken auch für solche „Karrieren“ die unabdingbare Voraussetzung. Aber auch umgekehrt erkannten und nutzten bedeutende Wissenschaftler oder Schriftsteller – erinnert sei nur an LEIBNIZ und LESSING – Bibliotheken als ideales „Medium“. Einige Persönlichkeiten aus der Geschichte der SLUB sollen pars pro toto im Folgenden vorgestellt werden. / Over the 450-year history of the SLUB, many remarkable scholars worked as librarians in Dresden. Not only did they work successfully in the library, they also conducted research in the humanities or natural sciences. The examples of eight scholars – some still recognized in scientific circles today – illustrate the fruitful publication activities and extensive research.

Digitaliseringens möjligheter för informationshantering : En litteraturstudie om arkivariers och bibliotekariers professionsutveckling

Archivists have many times been compared with librarians, which is done in this master thesis. The two professions have changed in recent years. One of the reasons is digital development. The digital age has changed the way people live and the need of information, but also processes within organisational structures. In order to be able to provide relevant and efficient services, the archives and libraries have strived for new skills that are useful in the digital environment. Therefore, the need of competence has increased. There are different types of knowledge required of archivists and librarians, but both have their theoretical knowledge from information science. Through digital development, similar interests can be developed that can be a good reason for collaboration between the two professions. The purpose of the study is to see how the two professions have changed as a result of the digitalisation. Literature studies provide a long-term perspective, which provides an opportunity to see how well something has been discussed and relevant to research that has been conducted. Therefore, the study uses this approach. Literature that has been searched for was limited between the years 2000 to 2020. Assessment of the relevance of literature is done by reading through the abstract and title from searches results in databases. The study collects a total of 40 literature for analysis. Theory of profession is used as a tool to analyse the result. In archival research and information science, digital curation has emerged. The concept is about the availability and usability of data in a long-term perspective. There is a connection to the concept for both archivists and librarians. Digital data needs to be planned and managed at an early stage, to ensure the life cycle of records. Leadership in archives and libraries is something that has developed more, because project management has become important for developing services and the profession. This may be due to threats about the relevance of the professions, but it can also be about being able to develop better services, strategy and different standards, which are more adapted to the digital possibilities. Collaboration between archivists and librarians can be useful in projects where the focus is on developing data management and services, also for promoting research and accessibility and in terms of assisting researchers in their research with information retrieval. Further studies can focus more deeply on areas of expertise that are being developed, which are relevant for both archivists and librarians.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to contribute with knowledge about how elementary school principals interpret of the School Act chapter 2, section 36§, which states that students in primary school, primary special school, special school, Sami school, upper secondary school and upper secondary special school must have access to school libraries. It explores the school principals perceptions of how the school library contribute to the education structure of their school in general and how their interpretation of the law impacts how the library operation is designed. This study is based on semi-structured interviews with five primary school principals and two school librarians, four observations of school libraries and one survey. The theoretical framework of the study is based on Anthony Gidden's structuring theory, which is used to explain how the principals' interpretation space regarding the School Act 2, chapter 36§ affects their school library operation. The results show that the phrasing of the Education Act in Chapter 2, Section 36§ is interpreted differently by the primary school principals participating in this study. The different ways in which the law is interpretated also reflects in the design of the physical premises which were observed in the study. The results of this study show that primary school principals' interpretations of the School Act and their perceptions of the school library influence how school library operations are designed.
