Ostlänken, Sweden's first high-speed railway is to be completed in 2027. Nyköping is located right in between the two end destinations. The initiative aims to link the regional economies and reduces the travel time to Stockholm from todays’ one hour to 40 minutes. Today we are getting fed the  word "resecentrum" that more or less equals adding a vast amount of shopping facilities to the station building. The often mall-like environments focuses on commerce, targeting travelers with money, who in reality may not spend as much time in the station as calculated. In a fairly small town like Nyköping, it would be risky to propose a station with a shopping mall, which risks to outcompete the well-functioning and vibrant city center. My proposal for a new bus- and train station in Nyköping will instead target those who actually spend some time there - the young people! Many students actually live outside the city but go to school there. They also use public transport and the municipality pay their bus card. With that said, many young people will be using Nyköpings' new station on a daily basis. I have sought a robust, tolerant feeling throughout the proposal, as it subsides well with the environments associated with bus and train stations. Graffiti, parkour and skateboarding cultures has long taken these areas in use. If not that kind of cultural expressions are allocated a place in the city, it will most likely be exercised there anyway. A graffiti wall in my station is therefore so obvious that it has got a prominent position. / Ostlänken, Sveriges första höghastighetsjärnväg ska vara färdig år 2027. Nyköping ligger placerad precis mitt emellan de två slutstationerna på sträckningen. Satsningen syftar till att knyta samman arbetsmarknaderna i regionen och reducerar restiden till Stockholm från dagens 1h ner till 40 minuter.   Idag är vi vana vid begreppet resecentrum som med stort utbud av service i anslutning till tågplattformar ska kunna tillgodose resenärernas behov i samband med deras resa. De ofta gallerialiknande miljöerna riktar in sig på resenärer med pengar i plånboken men som i realiteten kanske inte spenderar så mycket tid på platsen. I en stad av Nyköpings storlek vore det också riskabelt att föreslå en station med en galleria då det riskerar att konkurrera ut den väl fungerande och levande centrumhandeln. Mitt förslag går ut på att göra Nyköpings centralstation till en plats för i första hand de som faktiskt vistas där allra mest – ungdomarna! Många skolungdomar bor utanför Nyköping men går i skolan i staden. De åker också kollektivtrafik och kommunen bekostar busskortet. Därmed kommer många ungdomar att vistas vid Nyköpings nya station dagligen. Jag har strävat efter en oöm, tillåtande känsla i förslaget, då det klingar väl med verksaheten jag föreslår. Graffiti, parkour och skatekulturen har länge tagit stationen i anspråk. Om inte den typen av kulturyttringar tillåts en plats i staden, kommer den med största sannolikhet att utövas där ändå. En grafittivägg i min station är därför så självklart att den får en framträdande roll.

The study aims to investigate student’s attitudes and experiences of information retrieval on the Internet, as tools for learning. I have been interested of their own views about their own knowledge and experience in the subject, information seeking on the Internet. The focus is on what they perceive as problematic, what skills they consider they have and what needs they have in terms of teaching. Data were collected via questionnaires. About 200 students at the second year in high school have been asked about the problems and difficulties they have within seeking on the Internet. The study is especially framed within a sociocultural perspective of learning. The study aims to answer following questions: Do the students think that they, in a concentrated way, can orient themselves and seek information on the Internet? Do the students think that they had received education in information seeking on the Internet? Do the students think that they need more skills in information seeking on the Internet? The result shows that this millennial generation see themselves as competent users of the Internet, the World Wide Web (www). Young people are attracted by working with the computer as tool for learning, while teachers may feel that the boundary between school and leisure time is small. The students have a sense of success in every moment of internet seeking. Pupils and teachers have different skills on the Internet. This applies to teachers gain knowledge of it and how to teach the skills students need. Since the computer is a common tool in our workplaces in the community, is it important for the school to prepare the students for the future. It is important for all educators in the school, individually and jointly to reflect on the information that will contribute to the student's own knowledge creation and in what way.

Under flera år har svenska medier kantats av debatter kring vården på statens institutionsstyrelse där behandlingspersonal missbrukar makten och inte givit ungdomarna den vård som krävs för att de ska motiveras mot en bättre livsstil. Denna studie har som utgångspunkt att studera relationerna mellan behandlingspersonal och ungdomar som har tvångsvård enligt 3 § LVU. Studien riktar även sitt fokus på ungdomar som har NPF diagnoser samt svårigheter kring skapandet av relationer. Undersökningen mynnar ut i följande frågeställningar; Hur upplever behandlingspersonalen relationer med brukare på Statens institutionsstyrelse? samt Vilka faktorer påverkar relationen mellan brukare med funktionsnedsättning och behandlingspersonal? Undersökningen genomfördes med en kvalitativ ansats där vi genomförde semistrukturerade intervjuer med respondenter som arbetade som behandlingspersonal på statens institutionsstyrelse. Resultatet visade på att skapa relationer på sis är något komplicerat och kräver olika faktorer för att en relation ska fungera. Resultatet visade att personligheten är central faktor i arbetet, men även tidigare kunskaper och erfarenheter vid arbetet, speciellt inom avdelningar där ungdomar har en funktionsnedsättning. Vidare har resultat även påvisat att personal måste visa tillit och agera som rollmodeller för att ungdomarna ska få motivation att skapa relationer och lyckas med sin behandling. / For several years, Swedish media have been lined with debates about care at the state department board where treatment assistants abuse power and have not given young people the care needed to be motivated towards a better lifestyle. This study is based on studying the relationships between treatment assistants and young people who have compulsory care according to § 3 LVU. The study also focuses on young people who have NPF diagnoses and difficulties in creating relationships. The survey results in the following issues; How do treatment assistants experience relationships with users at the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care? and What factors affect the relationship between users with disabilities and treatment assistants? The survey was conducted with a qualitative approach where we conducted semi-structured interviews with respondents who worked as treatment assistants at the State Department Board. The result showed that creating relationships on sis is somewhat complicated and requires different factors for a relationship to work. The results showed that personality is a central factor in the work, but also previous knowledge and experience at work, especially in departments where young people have a disability. Furthermore, results have also shown that staff must show trust and act as role models for young people to be motivated to create relationships and succeed in their treatment.

Denna studie har undersökt hur covid-19-pandemin har påverkat unga individers involvering inom prostitution i Sverige under åren 2020–2021. Då fenomenet har rapporterats att ha ökat under den angivna tidsperioden och där den tidigare forskningen uppvisade en kunskapslucka gällande unga personer inom prostitution i koppling till covid-19-pandemin, kom detta att utgöra studiens syfte där de unga prostituerades upplevelser och erfarenheter har undersökts genom en fenomenologisk metodansats. Intervjuer med fyra respondenter inom urvalet har genomförts, där resultaten har analyserats genom tillämpning av den sociala utbytesteorin av George C. Homans och Peter Blau samt termen plastisk sexualitet av Anthony Giddens. Analysen fastställde tre huvudteman från materialet, där sexuellt experimenterande och yrkets inkomst visade sig vara de två primära anledningarna bakom inträdet till prostitutionen. Vidare kunde resultaten även påvisa att den oberoende ekonomiska ställningen inkomsten skapade hos respondenterna, var en anledning bakom fortsatt involvering. Covid-19-pandemin har inte påverkat respondenterna avsevärt, då de angav att de inte känt av oro inför sjukdomen men noterat en viss ökning av detta hos sina kunder vilket resulterat i en del förändrade mönster i deras arbetsomfång. Vidare har några särskilda skyddsåtgärder införts, såsom munskydd och avsiktliga pauser, men utöver detta upplever tre av fyra respondenter inte att covid-19-pandemin har påverkat dem ytterligare. En av respondenterna återupptog sin involvering inom prostitution till följd av en ekonomisk utsatthet skapad av samhällssituationen, men lämnade branschen när en bättre arbetsmöjlighet dök upp. Vidare angav resterande respondenter att de för närvarande inte skulle välja att avsluta sin involvering inom prostitution då de upplever utbytet fördelaktigt, men att faktorer som kan påverka detta är minskat intresse, andra arbetsmöjligheter och utökning av familj som inte går att kombinera ihop med sexarbetet.

This essay consists of an inquiry into the concepts of “time” and “movement” in Hjalmar Söderberg’s second novel, Martin Bircks ungdom, as well as a discussion of what the consequences of this inquiry are with regards to genre. The analysis is based on close reading, an adaptation of Michail Bachtin’s concept of the “chronotope” and, to a lesser extent, the narratological work of Gérard Genette. Through the analysis an interpretation of the novel is formed. This interpretation is then related to genre theory, especially that of Bachtin and Tommy Olofsson. In the discussion of genre, the results of the textual analysis are found to corroborate the hypothesis that Bachtin’s “novel of experience” is the category and tradition that Martin Bircks ungdom should be placed into.

Psykisk ohälsa bland ungdomar ökar runt om i världen och det blir allt viktigare att hitta alternativ för behandling av psykiska ohälsa. Friluftsterapi ger ungdomar möjlighet att komma bort från destruktiva miljöer samtidigt som man undviker begränsningarna i traditionell terapi. Friluftsterapi är en form av gruppterapi där ungdomar ställs inför utmaningar i en friluftsmiljö. Även om friluftsterapi som terapiform ökar runt om i världen saknas fortfarande forskning ur ett svenskt perspektiv. Syftet med studien är att belysa vad friluftsterapi kan bidra med i arbetet med barn och ungdomar med psykisk ohälsa, samt vilka möjligheter och hinder det finns att utföra friluftsterapi. Studien är en kvalitativ litteraturstudie, och genom en tematisk innehållsanalys analyserades 12 artiklar. För att genomföra analysen har symbolisk interaktionism och anknytningsteoretiskt perspektiv använts som ett teoretiskt ramverk. Resultatet av studien visar både positiva såväl som negativa effekter av friluftsterapi. För att en implementering av friluftsterapi ska kunna ske krävs vidare forskning inom ämnet med ett särskild fokus på svenskt sammanhang. / Mental illness among adolescents is increasing around the world. It is becoming more and more crucial to find alternatives for treating mental illnesses. Wilderness therapy gives adolescents the opportunity to get away from destructive settings while avoiding the limitations of traditional therapy. Wilderness therapy is a form of group therapy where adolescents are faced with challenges in an outdoor environment. Even though wilderness therapy is increasing within the field of mental health treatment, there is still a lack of research from a Swedish perspective. This study aims to shed light on what wilderness therapy can contribute to the treatment of adolescents with mental illness, and what opportunities and obstacles there are to use wilderness therapy. The study is a qualitative literature review, and through a thematic content analysis, 12 articles were analysed. To implement the analysis, the symbolic interactionism and attachment theory have been used as a theoretical framework. The result of the study shows both positive effects of wilderness therapy, as well as negative ones. To prescribe an implementation of wilderness therapy, further studies on the subject are called for with a special focus based on the Swedish context.

Bara en tanke bort ingår i mitt examensarbete för en magister i kreativt skrivande och utgör cirka en tredjedel av en större helhet. Texten tar upp ämnen som tvång i hederskulturer och psykisk ohälsa, men det finns också ett inslag av magisk realism. Jag har valt att skildra en av huvudkaraktärerna i första person presens och en annan i tredje person preteritum för att tydligt särskilja vems perspektiv som skildras. Berättelsen vänder sig till ungdomar på 12-15 år.

Lilith bor i en övergiven varglya i Lunkende gammelskog. Eva är storbondens dotter från byn. Flickorna befinner sig på var sin sida om en socio-ekonomisk, geografisk och mänsklig gräns och från människor i sin omgivning har de bara hört illa om ”de andra”.  Av en ödets nyck möts flickorna vid ett kärr som sällan visar sig. Att se träsket betyder att stora, och oftast dåliga, förändringar kommer ske. Ett tecken är en kvinna som gråter förtvivlat i skogen. Ett annat är att gammelskogen ska avverkas och alla dess djur, växter och Liliths hem kommer utplånas. Sumpmarken, gråten, hotet mot gammelskogen och flickornas vänskap blir upptakten till händelser som kommer att förändra deras liv långt mer än vad de anar.   I Flickan i varglyan vill jag undersöka vad som händer när flickorna möter ”den farliga från andra sidan” och skildra upplevelsen från bådas synvinkel. Naturligtvis berörs fler teman såsom vänskap, lojalitet, fördomar, bevarandet av unika naturmiljöer och biologisk mångfald.   Min strävan har varit att väva in frågeställningarna i en spännande berättelse med oväntade vändningar och övernaturliga inslag. Den utspelar sig på svensk landsbygd under 1920-tal där nordisk folktro ännu hade betydelse för hur människor upplevde sin värld. Trots ett tidsspann på hundra år är textens teman i högsta grad giltiga idag.

The aim of our thesis has been to examine and establish an understanding for the working method that professional social workers have in the meeting with suicidal adolescents in regard to discovery and treatment. Further we were also interested in whether differences in the working methods exist depending on the sexes of the adolescents. The method has been qualitative in the form of semi-structured interviews conducted with seven professional social workers in Sweden and analyzed with help of two theories, empowerment and gender-theory. Results have shed light on the importance of relationship building that takes place in conversational context. Social workers rely highly on empathy and respect during supportive treatment sessions as well as having an eye out for detecting initial signals of suicidality, which require sensitivity and attention. In regard to adapting the working methods to youth gender, results have shown that the social workers rather adapt to the individual than the specific gender, hence providing a question whether further research in terms of help seeking abilities between the different sexes is needed in social work.

The aim of the essay is to explore how so called ”safe spaces” are built, and the part that creativity can play in this construction. The essay also explores the duality of idea-based social work that at the same time strives to support vulnerable groups and strives to make social and political changes. The essay has its empirical base in the RFSL Ungdom project ”Tusen bilder, tusen ord” (A thousand pictures, a thousand words). RFSL Ungdom is the Swedish youth organization for homosexual, bisexual and transgender rights. The object of ”Tusen bilder, tusen ord” is to increase psychological well-being amongst queer youth under the age of 26 by providing a safe space where they can meet, and by encouraging their creative expressions in various workshops which are led by queer-identified artists. The essay is conducted through semi-structural interviews with participants in the project, and through participating observations of some of the workshops. Its theoretical base is previous research in the concept of safe spaces, strategies of resistance, and creativity. The result shows that the safe space ”Tusen bilder, tusen ord” is constructed in various ways, for example identification with each other and a ”queer identity” and through the trust that participants in the project felt towards the organization RFSL Ungdom. The creative expressions established an air of openness and understanding in the group, and also served as ways to reshape and transform the heteronormative surroundings, through the project's art-exhibition, and through the inner queer fantasy space bricolage.
