O moralismo da doutrina jurídica de Dworkin será contraposto à filosofia ironista de Richard Rorty, tendo como método a “leitura retórica de textos” e como marco a “Retórica” de Aristóteles. Este “método” aborda os textos do debate retoricamente ao ler os pressupostos teóricos da tese de Dworkin mediante seus componentes persuasivos (pathos, ethos, logos). A pesquisa ainda enfatiza as variações de influência da retórica no cânone que a relaciona com as controvérsias entre Platão e os sofistas, para caracterizar os limites da leitura proposta (de Rorty e Dworkin) e sua dependência para com a técnica retórica de dissociação de termos antitéticos. A linguagem como utensílio de ataque ou defesa, nos contextos de comunicação do direito e da filosofia, é finalmente tratada como um estigma de poder duplo. / This work studies different rhetoric procedures produced in Ronald Dworkin and Richard Rorty debates about the relation between Law and Pragmatism, more specifically, concerning the defense of one-right-answer-thesis in interpretation of law and its justification. Dworkin’s laws doctrine moralism is placed opposite to Richard Rorty ironist philosophy through “rhetoric reading” set as a method and based on Aristotle “Rhetoric”. This “method” approaches texts rhetorically while reads theoretical presuppositions of Dworkin’s thesis, through its persuasive components (pathos, ethos, logos). This research put emphasis upon the study of variations of influence regarding rhetoric into the canon that stress the controversies between Plato and sophists. This helps characterizing some limits of readings elected here (of Rorty and Dworkin works) and its dependence on dissociation of antithetic terms rhetorical technic. Language as an attack or defense utensil, in philosophy and law communication contexts, is portraited as a double power stigma.

The Evolution Of U.S. Corporate Logos A Semiotic Analysis

The purpose of this study is to examine the evolution of six U.S. corporate logos – Apple, McDonald‟s, Nike, Pepsi, Shell, and Starbucks – from each logo‟s inception until the newest version of the graphic emblem today. The objective is to determine the meanings that logos have for a corporation‟s identity, mission, and relationships, as well as the messages that logos convey to viewers (i.e., mostly customers). By “evolution” of logos here, the researcher means “ongoing transformation” of logos. The semiotic model used in this analysis is Charles Sanders Peirce‟s (1958 [1931]) semiotic framework. Peircean semiotics is made up of a three-part paradigm of signification: the representamen (or the sign itself), the object (or “referent” – what the sign refers to), and the interpretant (the effect on the viewer, or the viewer‟s interpretation). Based on the semiotic data on logo evolution, the researcher found six main themes that emerged across the analyses of U.S. corporate logos. These themes are (1) Direction toward the Future, (2) Identity with Viewers, (3) Instant Recognition and Distinctiveness, (4) Consistency throughout Evolution, (5) Invocation of Change, and (6) True Representation of Corporate Identity. The ultimate conclusion of this analysis is that the communicative intent of a company, through its logo, tends to take a long time to develop. A successful logo is one that portrays the true objectives and principles of a company. For this reason, the ideal identity of a corporation tends to be built over a long period of time, which makes logo improvement “evolutionary” in nature. In all six cases, communication plays a major part in logo improvement.

Genom en analys av visuell retorik ur ett socio-semiotiskt perspektiv undersöks reklamfilmen Bring it on som publicerades av klädföretaget H&M 2017 i marknadsföringssyfte för deras återvinningsboxar. Analysen visar att H&M använder ethos, logos och pathos för att få konsumenterna känslomässigt engagerade och känna sig som en del av en gemenskap. De använder socio-semiotiska metafunktioner för att generera en tydlig varumärkesidentitet som tilltalar den tilltänkta målgruppens moraliska kompass.   Sammanfattning - medieproduktion Lajka och de busiga bokstäverna är en barnbok som handlar om Lajka som upplever tidiga tecken på dyslexi. Bokens syfte är att öka medvetenheten och upptäcka tidiga tecken för lässvårigheter och dyslexi hos barn. Boken är till för att barnen ska kunna känna igen sig i Lajka och illustrationerna, i hennes känslor och svårigheter. Den vuxne som läser boken med barnet kan använda boken för att se varningssignaler för lässvårigheter. Detta genom att vara uppmärksam på vissa tecken som förklaras för den vuxna i början av boken.

Este último no es un problema que prime en el trabajo creativo del artista de hoy, como tampoco lo fue en los artistas de ayer, a pesar de haber sido y de ser un tema relevante para los filósofos. Desde la plataforma de los que somos artistas plásticos o visuales, el proceso creativo sí es parte de nuestra rutina. En ese sentido, urge seguir encontrando un mejor orden que ayude a organizar ese proceso.

In this dissertation, the affinities between the Prologue of the Fourth Gospel and the Maronite Prayer of the Faithful especially the use of light metaphor are examined and new hypothetic proposals are suggested: the former has influenced the latter; both of them might have shared the same milieu or have been influenced by an existent Antiochene liturgical hymn. In the thesis a methodology of understanding and explicating Christian faith consistent with the mystery of the simultaneous close connection and radical difference of God, human beings and the physical-organic cosmos environment is been mapped out. The theanthropocosmic principle as an expression of the mystery functions as the heuristic key in opening up the notion of kenosis (and incarnation) of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within the scope of the enduring interaction of . The Spirit in the kenotic sense of the word connects and differentiates the overall processes of being and becoming, here and there, now and then of the mystery of the `presences' of God, human beings and the natural cosmic world in being there (Dasein), being thus and thus (Sosein) and being dynamically actual (Aktsein). God acts in terms of the Spirit's operational kenotic presence within the margins of the creatureliness of people and the natural cosmic world as the kenotic clothing of God. A dynamic interpretation of the integral and differential character of being and becoming suggests that making sense of the dynamics of the formation of identities and identification is an ever ongoing endeavour. The Importance of Graphical Symbols in the Region Formation Process: the Case of the Liberec Region The thesis analyzes the role of symbols and graphic symbolism in the process of regional and spatial identity formation in the context of the theory of institutionalization of regions by A. Paasi. The goal of the thesis is to contribute to a scientific discussion of this topic using the example of a specific region - the Liberec Region. In the theoretical part of the thesis, general studies of spatial identities, mainly with regard to creating the symbolic shape of region, are discussed, and the importance of symbolism in forming the region, its spatial identity and power relations is assessed. This section aims to define the key concepts, terms and also types of symbols used in this study. In the research part of thesis, first, the selection of the studied area is justified (region with intensively changed landscape), and, second, its situational analysis is presented, focusing mainly on the social phenomena and elements which could play role of regional symbols. Next, the actual symbolism of the region, as presented in various sources and media, is evaluated.
