[en] IPSEITY AND ALTERITY IN HEIDEGGER AND KIERKEGAARD / [pt] IPSEIDADE E ALTERIDADE EM HEIDEGGER E KIERKEGAARDDANIEL ARRUDA NASCIMENTO 11 April 2007 (has links)
Martin Heidegger e
[en] The objective in the present dissertation is to examine
the relation between
ipseity and alterity, having Martin Heidegger´s and Søren
Kierkegaard´s
philosophys as a starting point. It intends to discuss on
this paper the possibility of
finding access to ipseity taking as reference a certain
notion of existence which
comprehends the tension that sets ipseity apart from
existence. In this way the
research brings us to the following conclusion: the access
to ipseity comes from
the relation to alterity.

escola. Para contemplar esse interesse, o presente estudo
desenvolveu o tema da
experiência subjetiva como produção singular e
permanentemente inacabada, a
[en] The work in a school offers the opportunity to think about
the complexity
of issues that involves the construction of knowledges
associated with the
construction of bonds of intersubjective relationships.
This research focused in the
unique and incessant production of subjective experience
that expresses itself in
life and, in this particular case, among the collective
practices that are part of the
polyphonic scenario of a school. This work developed the
theme of the subjective
experience as a singular and permanently unfinished
production, with the
contributions of the thoughts of Wittgenstein and Bakhtin,
two philosophers of
language. Inside this perspective, language, as a cultural
practice that
characterizes our humanity, redefines the interiority of
this experience recognizing
it as unique and, at the same time, determined by the
characteristics of a certain
historical and cultural time. In this study, we deal with
the concepts of ethics and
aesthetics, both strong references inside the philosophies
of language of
Wittgenstein and Bakhtin. These concepts allowed the
expression of a way of
looking at the experience at school and faced a kind of
tension in the approach of
the singularity of subjective production and it's
construction as action and
reflection.

[en] For doing a critic of moral, Nietzsche first has made a
critic of the idea of
true, because was that conception the ground of the moral.
Nietzsche has looked for
the whole played by philosophers and priests in this
history and made his genealogy
of moral. This work has a lot of different field like
psychology (to found the affect
behind the value), philology (to know the whole played by
the language) and history
(to show the way the moral has won and the problems of the
contemporary world).
This crisis of the contemporary world is presented with
some concepts like the death
of god, nihilism, and his ethic is understood by the
overcoming of this situation with
the concepts of will to power, eternal recurrence and super-

[en] SUBSTANTIVE AND INSTRUMENTAL RATIONALITIES: AN ANALYSIS OF ORGANIZATIONS BASED ON THE STAKEHOLDER THEORY / [pt] RACIONALIDADES SUBSTANTIVA E INSTRUMENTAL: UMA ANÁLISE DE ORGANIZAÇÕES A PARTIR DA TEORIA DOS STAKEHOLDERSFILIPE AUGUSTO SILVEIRA DE SOUZA 14 October 2008 (has links)
estruturação desta pesquisa, a qual objetivou descrever,
substantivos. / [en] The increase in social, environmental and human costs
generated by economic activity has brought along a
discussion within society as a whole, in the
academic environment most particularly, regarding the urge
for an integrated action coming from corporations and other
society members in the direction of restoration of existing
damage and, above all, in the prevention of potential future
ones. The Rationality subject, predominant in and inherent
to the proposed debate, has not been playing an important
role, being in many cases simply ignored - mostly the one
of Substantive nature. In the field of Business Ethics,
mainly from the 90´s on, the Stakeholder Theory - which
core lays on the revision and broadening of corporate
obligations, as opposed to the neoclassical vision based
on the Agency Theory, defending the maximization of
stakeholders´ wealth as the only social responsibility of
management - has been gaining acknowledgement.
In the heart of this theory, two mainstreams can be
highlighted: the Instrumental and the Normative. While the
later stands for the unconditional revision of
corporate obligations, the former subjects them to the
search of a superior performance. The potential association
of the Normative stream with the Substantive Rationality
and of the Instrumental stream with the Rationality that
goes under the same name is the fundamental basis for the
structuring of this research, which intends to describe,
based on a case study, how the two above
mentioned Rationalities coexist in a company which mission
and vision are based on typically Substantive values.

as
teorias pós-modernas
estrangeiro. Os projetos
estudados são: as traduções feministas, as traduções pós-
colonialistas e o
projeto de tradução minorizante de Lawrence Venuti. Esta
análise se presta a
verificar as motivações ético-políticas dos projetos em
questão e as principais
[en] This paper was developed in the context of the discussion
about the
identification of boundaries in translation practice.
Taking into account the postmodern
theories of language, I try to understand whether it is
possible to define,
even in face of new conceptions of language, culture,
subject and translation,
reasonably stable characteristics of the translation
practice. Some rewriting
practices presented as traslations, but which, in my
opinion, subvert excessively
the original text pose a challenge for the definition of
such boundaries. In this
thesis, I analize three different translation projects
which openly uphold a
particular political agenda, in order to verify to which
extent they are distanced
from the definition of translation as the closest possible
representation of a
foreign text in a target language. The projects studied
here are: feminist
translations, postcolonial translations and Lawrence
Venuti´s minoritizing
project. This analysis aims at understanding the ethical
and political motivations
of the projects at issue and their main strategies. The
pursuit of a specific
conceptual and practical field for translation is linked
to an ethical concern at
which the reader is the focus of the discussion.

O liberalismo igualitário de Ronald Dworkin: o caso da liberdade de expressão / The egalitarian liberalism of Ronald Dworkin: the case of freedom of speechRosa, Leonardo Gomes Penteado 10 February 2014 (has links)
This dissertation is dedicated to the interpretation of the right to free speech available in the work of philosopher Ronald Dworkin. In the first chapter, I dwell with the sense in which the author speaks of rights, with the meaning of liberties in his thought, and his effort to integrate them to his conception of distributive justice, namely, equality of resources. The second chapter is dedicated to an important aspect of the authors theory: the continuity between ethics and morals, especially his theory of dignity, either in the form o what he calls the model of challenge or in the form of two principles (of self-respect and authenticity). It also explores the consequences of Dworkins ethical theory to the liberties and integration between it and the value of equality. Then, the third chapter is dedicated more directly to the right of free speech as Dworkin conceives it: integrated to distributive justice and founded in what he calls ethical independence and in the authenticity that marks equality of resources, as well as in a conception of democracy, formed, depending on the terminology he adopts at different works, agency and the principles or dimensions of his partnership conception of democracy. It is also part of the third chapter discussion of concrete cases, where Dworkins generosity towards the right which is the object of the dissertation makes itself evident. I discuss why Dworkin includes in free speech hate speech and pornography but also why, precisely because of its foundation in the dignity of the speaker, does not include freedom of the press, academic freedom and expressive acts by companies. The conclusion of the dissertation is dedicated to his ideas of culture of liberty and culture of independence.

[en] TEACHER, WHAT DOES PHILOSOPHY STAND FOR? DIALOGUES CONCERNING ETHIC / [pt] PRA QUE SERVE A FILOSOFIA, PROFESSOR? DIÁLOGOS SOBRE ÉTICACLAUDIA FENERICH DE CARVALHO POSADA 06 October 2005 (has links)
dominação é a negação
de outras possibilidades de organização social. Nesse
contexto, o presente
transformar as condições
[en] The educational reforms of the 1990´s, launched on an
international basis,
have put forward Ethics understood as education for
citizenship, as the central
objective of pedagogic action. Proposals presented by
international organizations
such as UNESCO and BIRD aimed at educating competent
citizens to perform in
a globalized world, ruled by market principles in
accordance to parameters set by
neo-liberal politics. The Brazilian National Curriculum
(PCNs) developed during
Fernando Henrique Cardoso´s government and including a
document focusing
particularly on Ethics in education is the epitome of this
attempt to connect
Brazilian education to political action whose strategy for
domination is the
negation of other possibilities of social organization. In
this context, the present
work aims at inserting the thinking of Walter Benjamin in
the current debate about
Ethics in education, formulating the question of an ethical
education in Terms of
an intervention allowing the student to articulate his
understanding of his own
world, constituted by real life situations in combination
with historical action
determining the present moment. Based on an understanding
of Ethics as a
historical commitment and of any action capable of
transforming this commitment
as necessarily being rooted in it, we have talked to seven
Primary school teachers,
asking them to establish connections with the word Ethics
and to consider the
ideas underlying these connections.

Previous issue date: 2009-02-17 / This dissertation aims at studyi ng ortotanasia according to the
constitutional principles of the right to life and dignity of the human being, with the
intent to reflect on life concept and try to show that the life protected by the 1988
Constitution is not any life, but a worthy life.
The text presents a reflection on the right to freedom and the
bioethical principle of autonomy and the influence that such rights exercise over
terminal patients. Further, it is discussed the theory of Ronald Dworkin with regard
to the interaction of principles, rules and values and the relation that these three
aspects have in the search for answers and solutions for apparent conflicts among
constitutional principles.
Furthermore, the different classifications about euthanasia as well as
the convergences and differences with regard to ortotanasia are intended to be
shown.
Recent normative texts below the Constitution are also under
analysis, especially No. 1.085/2006 of t he Medicine Federal Council which
expressly determined the author ization from the physician to restrict or suspend
procedures and treatments extending the life of the terminal patient with a serious
and incurable disease, subject to the will of the person or his/her legal
representative. The concern in this dissertation is to present the debate arisen
amidst the legal and medical communities, with an opinion on the constitutionality
of the Resolution and the ortotanasia.
Finally, some actual cases of termi nal patients in other countries and
in Brazil are presented so as to be analyzed, on the one hand, what is the
treatment given to the subject in foreign law, and on the other hand, which has
been the conduct adopted by Brazilian physi cians and patients when faced with
the imminent end of life / Esta dissertação propõe-se a estudar a ortotanásia à luz dos
princípios constitucionais do direito à vida e da dignidade da pessoa humana.
vida iminente

[en] FROM EXISTENCE TO INFINITY: THE ETHICAL REDUCTION IN THE THOUGHT OF EMMANUEL LÉVINAS / [pt] DA EXISTÊNCIA AO INFINITO: A REDUÇÃO ÉTICA NO PENSAMENTO DE EMMANUEL LÉVINASRAFAEL HADDOCK LOBO 17 November 2003 (has links)
precedentes filosofias do fenômeno. Dentre estes aspectos,
[en] From Existence to Infinity: the ethical reduction in the
thought of Emmanuel intends to present the thought of
Emmanuel Lévinas in its fundamental characteristic, that is
like an ethical reduction. This hypothesis places the
levinasian thought as the third stage of the Phenomenology
based on the several features that distinguish it from the
precedent philosophies of the phenomenon. Among this
features, it is especially emphasized the change in the
axis of philosophy that Lévinas intends to achieve, from
Ontology to Ethics, as well as the inauguration of a new
way of philosophy resulting from the consequent
dislocations that this reduction performs (from Existence
to the existents, from the Same to the Other, from
Masculine to Feminine etc.). Therefore, the aim of this
research is concentrated on indicating the specificity of
the philosophical discourse of Lévinas, starting from a
dialogue with the philosophical tradition (and above all
the debate with the thought of Being) and motivated by the
questions concerning to Existence, Humanism, death, love
and justice.

Previous issue date: 2009-11-11 / This dissertation aims to connect the most significant ethics that persisted
throughout our culture to sexuality, here regarded as a human formation that goes beyond
biological scope to become the foundation of subjectivity. By regarding man as subject of
desire, Freud recognizes him as having a perverted orientation, and comes to the conclusion
that, because of his aggressive nature, man tends to, before loving his neighbor, take him as
object (also sexual) for his enjoyment. As a thinker of the culture, Freud states that the great
human ideals are nothing but reactive formations. They are constructed to avoid
aggressiveness, since men understood that together they could tame the forces of nature, in
order to guarantee their survival. Lacan, attentive commentator of the ethics that feed and
move our culture, emphasizes the importance of Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics , focused
on the ideal of the Supreme Good . This Ethic persisted throughout two thousand years,
coming to an end with the decline of the relationship Master/Slave, which cleared the path
to two new ethics devoted to the ideal of the common good: the Kantian ethics, in which,
for Lacan, the highlight is the Critique of Practical Reason , and the utilitarian approach,
which highest moment is Jeremy Bentham s Theory of Fictions . On the turn of the 18th
to the 19th century, Sade, Kant s contemporary, following the Libertine movement born
with the decadence of French aristocracy, takes the subject of Happiness in Evil to its
maximum level. Lacan writes a text in which he compares Kant with Sade, where we can
see he makes progress in his theory about the perversions. After examining the ethics, the
present dissertation focuses on the study of sexual perversions, using the theoretical
framework of Freud and Lacan as foundation. The above-mentioned text by Lacan is used,
in this dissertation, as a means to articulate an ethic of the perversion / Esta dissertação visa articular as éticas mais significativas que atravessaram
