Moldar a carne : a queerização do corpo no teatro de João Carlos Castanha

Delgado, Pedro Omar Lacerda January 2013 (has links)
Assim, utilizei fontes impressas, imagéticas, entrevistas e observações durante a prática do trabalho do ator. / This study aims to build a reflection on the embodiment process of transgender characters and theatrical constructions of a gay actor from his real life body (conjugate). Therefore, I chose to investigate the working process and body constructions of the characters played by actor João Carlos Castanha. The bodies created by this actor gain flesh from pieces of male and female bodies that result in hybrid sexuality and gender aesthetics bodies. Therefore, I have chosen to develop a research grounded in theoretical and methodological references of qualitative research, as well as the thought that subsidizes Queer Theory. So, I made use of printed sources, imagery, interviews and observations during the practice of that actor's work. Therefore, this paper is the result of a particular need for the researcher to approach these body constructions that occur in peripheral areas in a becoming theater. Thus, those areas are constituted outside the standards of male and female bodies.

It is called Post-Modern by the majority of theoretical studies in this search. Considering the concepts evident in post-modernism such as fragmented identities, sociality, presenteism, vitalism, on line communities and globalization, try in this study reflect how these concepts are present in the life of the individual users from on line communities, especially the gay person. So, theoretical studies by Post-Modernity and identity is possible by the authors: Hall (2001), Giddens (2002), Bauman (2005, 2003) and Ortiz (2006) for identify the assumptions that mean living in a cultural and globalized world. It examines the issues of gender and attempts to relate it with homosexuality / homoaffectivity. For this it considering the studies of authors such as Scott (1991) and Butler (2001, 2003). It is also theorized about the history of homosexuality / homoaffectivity identifying social relations that marginalized gay and locate where the knowledge studies of homoerotic are included. It done by Trevisan (2002), Louro (2001, 2004), Foucault (1988, 1979), Fry and MacRae (1984) and Butler again (2001, 2000). Then, the authors like Levy (1999), Bauman (2003, 2001), Maffesoli (2006) and Lemos (2004, 2008, 2002), discusses the cyberculture and cyberspace and identify the concepts of aesthetic communities , tribalism, presenteism, vitalism, hedonism and formism in on line communities surveyed. For the theoretical contributions aims to: identify the constructed identities gays in on line communities hosted on ORKUT by speech analysis; understand if the gay communities have become ghettos and / or spaces of emancipation; know the concepts of what is to be gay from the participants speeches analysis, identify the issues that prevail in most discourses promoted by forum; know what the gays say to you in these communities; understand if the speeches were found in gay communities contribute to the construction of speech against; identifying the construction of the speeches and if there is space in on line power relationships that make the people positions. For these goals were possible, two ORKUT communities were select with the following characteristics: public gay male, Brazil, active communities in present day, with more existence years, that containing material (speeches) large enough for analysis and the sufficient participants number. Finally it is concluded that gays were different identities, So, identities are also in constant transformation. However, the gays speeches in many cases negative, are reflections of the suffering caused by the society prejudice present today. The gay prejudice is over only when the society deconstruction this prejudice through education / A atualidade é caracterizada por um mundo simbólico e efêmero, denominado, pela maioria dos teóricos estudados nessa pesquisa, de Pós-Moderno.

The identity and subjective issues in a gendered profession, early childhood educators : infant childcare between naturalization and professionalization

Hilbold, Mej 10 December 2016 (has links)
In the sector of nurseries and day care centers, the identity dimension at work weighs on relationships and professional activities. This thesis is centered on the professional group of early childhood educators: the recent changes in this profession are analyzers for the profound changes in this activity area which gradually abandons the historic health approach for a psychological and pedagogical approach. This work offers a critical reading of sociological theories of "professional identity" and professionalization through the prism of gender studies and psychoanalysis. It also reports the results of an empirical research conducted through a psychoanalytically orientated clinical approach. Identity is here conceived as a performative speech, according to the landmarks given by the queer theories. The empirical investigation is based on interviews with professional and on long-term observations of municipal and parental day care centers. The still overwhelmingly 'female' recruitment of the educators, as well as forms of suffering at work that this thesis presents in a new way, reflect the logical limits of "professional identity", the latter producing divisions and systems of categorical oppositions - the "professional" opposed to the "mother", the "female", "parenting” and to “chilhood” - that drive educators into dead ends and cause relational rigidities. The impregnation of educators by psychological knowledge strengthens the mother-professional binary opposition because of the importance given to the still naturalized mother-child relationship, despite the significance of discourse on parenthood.

[en] CONSTRUCTING THE LGBTI SUBJECT OF RIGHTS: SUBJECTIVITY, POLITICS AND IDENTITY IN HUMAN RIGHTS DISCOURSE / [pt] CONSTRUINDO O SUJEITO LGBTI DE DIREITOS: SUBJETIVIDADE, POLÍTICA E IDENTIDADE NO DISCURSO DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS

LUIZ ARTUR COSTA DO VALLE JUNIOR 12 April 2018 (has links)
[en] The dissertation explores the specific forms of subjectivity that are attributed to LGBTI individuals in international human rights law. It takes into consideration 8 rulings by the Human Rights Committee, the UN body charged with monitoring the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and advances a deconstructive reading of the specific articulation of homosexual and transgender subjects contained in them. It suggests that the three representations found, the legitimate gay, the gay activist and the gay outlaw can be understood as an attempt to depoliticize deviant sexualities, subsuming them under neoliberal, heterosexist hegemonic normative arrangements. In view of this argument, it proposes a queer psychoanalytic reading of subjective and bodily constitutions, emphasizing Jacques Lacan s, Judith Butler s and Jacques Derrida s works. In highlighting the contingency and violence inherent to libidinal organization, it paves the way to a radical understanding of the co-implication of subjectivity and community. In light of this co-implication, Jacques Rancière s notion of politics is presented and reworked in light of Lacan s concept of Sinthome, in a way that appears to allow for an aesthetic political engagement based on the quasi-substance of the Sinthome as a contingent, continuous grafting of Lacan s three metaphysical orders, the real, the imaginary and the symbolic.

Transinkludering i praktiken : En undersökande intervjustudie hur verksamheter inom socialt arbete bemöter transpersoner

Lundgren, Linnéa, Nordberg, Ann-Sofie January 2018 (has links)
The aim for this study was to investigate how social workers perceive that they are responding to clients who define themselves as transgender. The study has a qualitative basis with six semistructured interviews based on an elaborated vignette method. The selection of interviewees was social workers, three in the field of public authority and three workers at various excutive agencies. The material have been analyzed based on Queer theory and Honneths Recognition Theory. The findings indicate that social work organizations are lacking in knowlege of transgender people and their experiences. There is also a lack of evidence-based procedures, action plans and policies to respond to transgender people within the organizations. The findings also implies that social workers can respond to transgender people and address them more empathically, with greater acceptance as well as recognition through a professional self-reflection and a humble attitude.

Kangasvuo, J. (Jenny) 29 October 2014 (has links)
Abstract Bisexuality became a viable identity in Finnish sexual culture in the early 1990’s. Prior to this, bisexuality was not a concept to which identities could be credibly attached. Instead, the concept was used to explain the fundamental nature of human sexuality. This usage also played a role in sexual minority politics, explaining the existence of homosexuality and justifying its acceptance. Bisexuality has helped define the border between comprehensible and incomprehensible sexuality, at certain times strengthening the normal, at other times positioning itself among the weirdest of the weird. The research material of this dissertation includes volumes of publications by the Finnish organizations active in sexual minority politics from the years 1969–1994, volumes of porn magazines from the years 1972–2006, a selection of single articles collected from mainstream press from the years 1993–2012 as well as interviews of 40 Finnish bisexuals from the years 1999, 2005 and 2009–2010. There is a total of 52 interviews, 12 of the informants having been interviewed twice. These interviews form a longitudinal study of Finnish bisexuals and their experiences. This doctoral thesis explores the question of how changes in Finnish legislation, sexual minority politics and media landscape have affected the concept of bisexuality and the experiences of the people who define their sexuality through that concept. This research traces the processes which made bisexuality a viable identity term in Finland after the removal of same-sex fornication from the criminal law. The concept of bisexuality has seen frequent use in porn as well, and the study reflects on how bisexual experiences can be characterized in a situation where the concept of bisexuality has been pornified. This research explains how bisexuality evolved from an instrument of sexual minority politics in the 1970’s and 1980’s to a concept employed by identity politics starting from the 1990’s, and finally to a term which can be used to entice and entertain different audiences in the 2010’s. / Tiivistelmä Biseksuaalisuus identiteettinä on tullut suomalaisessa seksuaalikulttuurissa mahdolliseksi 1990-luvun alkupuolelta lähtien. Yhteensä haastatteluja on 52, eli 12 haastateltavaa on haastateltu kahdesti.

In the shadow of the night : the gendered subtext of Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles

Hoosain, Shakira 08 December 2011 (has links)
Anne Rice writes popular fiction. She is best known for her iconic Vampire Chronicles series. This thesis focuses on the first three volumes of this series: Interview with the Vampire (1976), The Vampire Lestat (1985), and The Queen of the Damned (1988). The main objective of this thesis is to show that whilst Rice's novels often seem very liberal, an examination of her subtext reveals a conservative message. This message helps entrench socio-cultural and political hegemonies because it does not challenge the status quo. In order to see how these conservative leanings are entrenched by Rice, this thesis examines archetypes of the female and the Feminine. Louis is male, but can be viewed as a Feminine character because of his meek subservience to Lestat (the protagonist of the series). Claudia is their daughter, but she is also a woman trapped in a child's body. Claudia seems to have great intellectual freedom, but she is trapped within her body and cannot mature. Gabrielle is Lestat‟s mother. When Gabrielle becomes a vampire, Rice tries to empower Gabrielle by androgynizing her character. However, we find that this androgyny is not empowering because Gabrielle returns to her role as a mother. Akasha is the ancient queen and source of vampirism. She wants to bring about a radical, gynocentric world by killing most men. But subtextually, Akasha‟s defeat represents the defeat of feminism in favour of patriarchy. Despite the seemingly liberal nature of the texts, subtextually there is a trend towards negating the power these characters carry in the text. To explore the flux between the text and the subtext, an array of post-modern reading tools and theoretical approaches have been used. The primary reading strategies include a close reading of the novels, informed by Feminist perspectives, together with other reading strategies such as, Queer Theory, Marxism, deconstruction and the role of the Fantastic. Little academic study has been devoted to Rice‟s work. Her work shows deep philosophical and artistic integrity which lends an elegance and beauty to her texts, but this is undermined by the conservative undertones of her work. / Dissertation (MA)--University of Pretoria, 2011. / English / unrestricted

Människor och barn : En genusvetenskaplig studie av ålderskonstruktioner i tidningarna/tidskrifterna Bang, Dagens Nyheter, Föräldrar & Barn, KP och Land / Humans and Children : A gender study of age constructions in the newspapers and magazines Bang, Dagens Nyheter, Föräldrar & Barn, KP and Land

Bodell, My January 2016 (has links)
Even though several researchers in gender studies of today are concerned with other central organizing aspects than gender, the social category age is disregarded. When it comes to age the naturalized norm in gender studies is the category the adult. In this thesis I investigate assumptions concerning the two age categories children and adults in five different newspapers and magazines, using an intersectional perspective and a queer theoretical framework. My investigation shows that the category age intra-act with other power structures in the construction of both children and adults. The adult perspective is more or less one-sided, and the view on age is primarily essentialistic. Adults are considered naturally superior, while children are dehumanized and constructed as the right and property of adults. Adultness is primarily linked to reproduction and (full-time) professional work, and adults should according to the hegemonic discourse be loyal to employers and other adults, not to children.

The theoretical approach adopted in this study had as one of its pillars, Queer Theory and Judith Butler as one of its main representatives. The film was made as a kind of document, and the main characters Riza Niro and Sexilia as a pretext / pre-text to discuss a subject that presents multiple possibilities of sexual practices. The analysis results bring important reflections about the performances as gender / sexuality can be varied. However, they are not sustained in the mindset of the people, although the vision binary man / penis woman / pussy is constantly reinforced and maintained by heteronormativity, which reinforces the segregation of other sexual practices existing and exercised. Issues like that can be man, woman, gay, lesbian and other related characterizations, are diluted and insipid performances before escaping the frameworks imposed by hegemonic view of sexuality and gender are. Sexual behaviors are put into question when, in a 1982 film, ie, 30 years ago, now we are presented with a set of characters that have a different way and to put plastic on life and their sexualities. We hope that this research will contribute to a psychological reflection of release binaries sex / gender, heteronormativity and compulsory heterosexuality, and also bring a reflection on how education can be flexible, that is, not crystallized, the ways of life.
