Perceptions of Swedish Dairy Companies and Their Role in Sustainable Development / Uppfattningar om svenska mejeriföretag och deras roll i hållbar utveckling

Akiko Nakayama, Kimberly January 2023 (has links)
In this paper, the author explores the perception of Swedish dairy companies as sustainable from both the perspective of employees at Sweden’s largest dairy company and from the perspective of consumers in Sweden. The purpose of this study was to gain a more nuanced understanding of what a sustainable food system could look like in Sweden in the future by identifying some of the overarching beliefs about the current Swedish dairy industry. This study utilized a qualitative research approach based on interviews and a focus group to generate a thematic analysis. Ultimately, the author identified a tension between the increasing consumer demand for dairy companies in Sweden to provide more environmentally sustainable products and the continued consumer demand for dairy products to fulfill needs outside of the scope of sustainability. The author also discussed the existing gap between the communication from Swedish dairy companies and Swedish consumers in creating value from various sustainability initiatives.

Personifiering av politik : En fallstudie med komparativa inslag av Sveriges riksdagspartier på Instagram / Personalization of politics : a case study with comparative elements of the Swedish parliamentary parties on Instagram

Al-Basri, Susanne, Robertsson, Christoffer January 2023 (has links)
With the change from the most stable party system in Europe to a decline in party membership and a fragmented parliament, Sweden has lost its’ unique status in European politics. A weakened collective identity and changes to social structures have brought the phenomenon of personalization of politics to the attention of scholars. The phenomenon, which centres on the increasing meaning of individual politicians at the expense of a decreasing importance of the political collective, is this studies’ theoretical framework. This study aims to examine the presence of personalization of politics among Swedish parliamentary parties on Instagram. In order to analyse the Instagram accounts a quantitative content analysis was conducted over three separate periods from the election month of 2014, 2018, and 2022. The findings suggest that no linear trend is to be found, however the level of personalization of politics is generally high among the parties on Instagram. Furthermore, the centralized personalization, the focus on party leaders, is exceedingly prominent among the studied cases.

The Healthcare in Stockholm Does Not Fulfill the New Regulations : The Healthcare Provision in Stockholm County's Adaptations to MDR and IVDR

Grabler, Tilde, Birath, Fanny January 2023 (has links)
The European Union voted through new regulations regarding medical devices and medical devices for in vitro diagnostics in 2017. These new regulations were implemented in 2021. The new regulations entailed stricter supervision, clinical testing, and traceability requirements to strengthen patient safety. To ensure that care centers within Region Stockholm comply with the new regulations, physical inventories were carried out at ten randomly selected units that do not have existing service agreements with suppliers or service providers. To compare different units’ individual adaptations to the regulations, an analysis model was created in which the proportion of products that were not approved for medical use and the lack of certain necessary equipment were factors. In all units, consumer products are used for patients, which are not intended for medical use, and several units lack products that should be available. Overall, the unit managers at the care centers were unfamiliar with the new regulations and were unaware that the products they used were not intended for healthcare. The care centers also had several old and/or broken products that were used daily, which does not meet the requirements for patient safety. The conclusion was therefore that the care centers in Region Stockholm do not comply with the new regulations.

Du gamla, du trygga, du fria : Bruk av nostalgi i svensk politik 2010-2022 / Thou old, thou safe, thou free : Uses of nostalgia in Swedish politics 2010-2022

Englund, Carl January 2023 (has links)
This master thesis is concerned with nostalgia and the uses of nostalgia in Swedish politics. Nostalgia as a political tool has been used to great effect through out the western world in the last decades, with the most notable examples being for instance Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in the USA or the success of Brexit in the United Kingdom. The rising frequency of nostalgia in politics has led some scholars to suggest that we are living in the age of nostalgia. Despite this, and the fact that scholars from multiple disciplins agree that nostalgia is a tool not just used by populist parties, there are few studies regarding the use of nostalgia as a political tool in Sweden that does not solely focus on the use of nostalgia by said populist parties. This thesis therefore seeks to fill a knowledge gap and study the use of nostalgia by different parts of the Swedish political sphere. The source material examined in the study is the political commercials made by the eight different parties in the Swedish Parliament in the time period of 2010-2022. The research questions of the thesis concerns to which extent nostalgia is used in Swedish politics, how nostalgia appears in the political advertisement, which political messages it is loaded with and which role the use of nostalgia play in the political parties visions of the future. The thesis is divided into two parts, with the first part studying to which extent nostalgia is present in the source material. By using a qualitative content analys to gather the nostalgic allusions in the commercials, and by also dividing the allusions into aestethic and explicit nostalgia to show that nostalgia can also be present in the visual aspects of the commercials, the result of the study show that nostalgic allusions are present in commercials from all parties during the time period, although some parties use it more than others. The second part of the analysis focuses on the uses of nostalgia by three parties with different ideologies in the Swedish parliament, The Social Democrats, The Left Party and The Sweden Democrats. The analysis is done by analysing the uses of nostalgia in the three parties political commercials as uses of history. The results indicate that all three parties uses vague nostalgic uses of history as a way of looking back at a past that is a perfect snapshot of a golden age of society, in contrast to the chaotic present. The past thus becomes something we need to return to in order to change society for the better. It also shows that the three parties all seem to be nostalgic for the same vague time period in which the Swedish peoples home was strong, even though they have different views on what the peoples home actually constitutes.

Har alla samma möjligheter på arbetsmarknaden? : En kvalitativ studie om utrikesföddas syn på sin anställningsbarhet / Does everyone has the same opportunity in the labour market : a qualitative study about foreign born persons view of their employability

Kantur, Fatima, Troije, Emilia January 2021 (has links)
According to various sources, it is more difficult for foreign people to get a job in Sweden than for people who are native born. Statistics show that the unemployment number is higher for foreigners than Swedish born people. It has also been shown that this group of people who are born i another country are exposed to discrimination during the recruitment process. They also have it harder to get a job within their field of education. In this study we have investigated how foreign people find their employability at the Swedish labour market and if the perception differs between men and women. To answer these questions we have interviewed six people who were born in another country and have arrived in Sweden in the last four years, three men and three women. All of the respondents have an academic education from their birth country. The interviews were semi-structured to make the process a bit more flexible. The result of this study shows that the foreign born people experience that it is harder for them to find a job, than people born in Sweden. They think the fact that they do not know the language perfectly is the biggest reason the employer would rather hire a native born person instead of them. They also feel like their education from their country of birth is not valid here, and that they need a Swedish education. The last thing they feel is a disadvantage for them in the labour market is their lack of personal contacts who can help them get a job.

Access to e-health in Swedish healthcare programs for psychological health problems / Tillgång till e-hälsa i svenska vårdprogram vid psykisk ohälsa

Khan, Sajid Ali January 2023 (has links)
Background: One of society's most pressing social challenges is the state of people's psychological health. Healthcare institutions have adopted e-health due to the noticeable rise in psychological health issues and growing societal reliance on digital technologies. Internet based Cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) is essential for those with psychological health issues. Since 2012, the Department of Swedish Municipalities and Regions (SKR) has coordinated the 1177 healthcare programme, a digitisation initiative. By 2025, the Swedish Government hopes to be a global leader in digitising social services and health care. This ehealth system must promote the welfare and good health, which are founded on the idea of equality between individuals. It must increase patient engagement and confidence while bridging the gap between patient needs and what the healthcare system can supply.  Aim: To describe the access to e-health within Swedish healthcare programs for psychological health problems.  Method: Summative qualitative content analysis of data from websites regarding access to e-health services or iCBT in the Swedish local authorities and regions through an inductive approach.  Findings: The results show that e-health services and resources are unequally distributed among local authorities and regions in Sweden.  Conclusion: Results of the study show that unequal e-health service and resource distribution might result in stigmatization and a decline in patient's willingness to seek care.

Svensk-japaners informationspraktiker under covid-19-pandemin / The information practice of Swedish-Japanese during the covid-19 pandemic

Yamazaki, Atsuko January 2022 (has links)
The ongoing covid-19 pandemic has changed the information practices of people, including Japanese immigrants to Sweden. This study aims to clarify the characteristics and problems of everyday information practices of the study group, i.e. Swedish-Japanese, during the covid-19 pandemic. Japanese living in Japan are also included for comparative analysis. I also investigate how information practices relate to the study group’s social context and cultural background, and how they are experiencing information barriers. For this purpose, a qualitative approach was chosen, and semi-structured interviews were carried out. The informants were a total of five Japanese people living in Sweden and five Japanese people living in Japan. The results were analyzed using inductive approaches. Then the empirical data of the informants' information practices were categorized based on Savolainen's (2021) model of everyday information practices (EIP), consisting of three ways, and McKenzie’s (2003) model of information seeking. Then, the informants' barriers with information practices were analyzed using Savolainen's (2016a) sociocultural barriers. Findings show that both groups are similarly actively seeking information and actively scanning for information everyday using multiple sources of information. However, the results also show that the informants have been influenced by social and cultural background. The Swedish-Japanese conduct more active online scanning, while the Japanese in Japan are relatively passive and conduct everyday non-directed surveillance. Trust in politicians and authorities also differed between the two groups. Japanese people in Japan often point out that such information is incomprehensible, and they have a habit of using easy-to-understand sources of information instead. This incomprehensibility seems to be due to Japanese culture, where language expression is ambiguous and situation dependent. In contrast, Swedish-Japanese have confidence in Swedish authorities. In addition, the informants do not state much about socio-cultural barriers to information practices at the interview except for the institutional barriers.  Finally, the characteristics and problems of everyday information practices among Swedish-Japanese were influenced by their cultural background and personal background, as well as the Swedish social context. In addition, their information practices differ from the Japanese in Japan. Through information practices, they may have acquired both global and local identities, which promote integration and inclusion for Swedish-Japanese in the host country of Sweden. This is a two years master’s thesis in Library and Information Science.

Törnkvist, Helena January 2008 (has links)
A school for everyone, in Thailand?
