Snabba glasögon : En självstudie av avistaövning för el- samt klassisk gitarr / Speed reading : A self-study of sight reading for electric and classical guitar

Rognås, Oskar January 2020 (has links)
Time and again, electric guitarists have had to live with the stigma of being deficient note readers. Presumedly, this should be solvable with a little practice, but how should one structure such practice and does it produce results? Their counterparts in the classic genre do not inherit the same label, thanks to their long tradition of reading sheet music. Could the answer lie with the classical guitar's teaching methods that need only to be translated into electric guitar for the sheet music reading to take off? In this self-study, I explore my own exercise in sight reading for both electric and classical guitars with the help of a video diary, analyzed from a multimodal perspective.

We Grow Wild : Experimenting and learning about wild botanical allies to reclaim our food sovereignty

Tomasin, Martina January 2021 (has links)
The biology and the patterns of wild environments and their organisms have solutions to the many environmental, social and economical challenges that we are facing globally. As an emerging designer, I believe that the tendencies of the ecological environments can be analyzed, mimicked and implemented by designers into different socio-cultural systems. In my design process I have been exploring practices that promote food sovereignty as a right that every living being should have. The results of my exploration is a guide to help to learn about and from wild edibles to deepen our connection with nature. My design includes my own process and iteration as well as one designed for those who are interested in exploring foraging practices. This project recognizes the different spheres and complexities of sustainability. It analyzes how our cultural and social practices impact the ecological environment, while, at the same time, it brings practical examples to understand the effects that our economy has on the overall well-being of the ecology, and suggests that we all can be beneficial participants as and in nature. The title “We grow wild” refers to the plants, which grow wildly in parks, hedgerows, paths and forests, as well as it encourages to rediscover the wild nature that re-emerges in us through active participation in the ecological environment we inhabit.

THE LET ME LEARN PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PROCESS FOR TEACHER TRANSFORMATION: THE LET ME LEARN PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PROCESSFOR TEACHER TRANSFORMATION

Calleja, Colin 15 July 2013 (has links)
This research set out to explore how a group of nine educators from a Catholic Church school in Malta, who have attended the Let Me Learn professional Learning process (LMLpLp), experienced personal and professional transformation. This study investigates those factors influencing participants in their transformative learning journey. It also explores the dynamics of transformative learning and whether individual transformation affects the school’s transformative learning experience. More specifically this study set out to explore how teachers who participated in the Let Me Learn professional Learning process have experienced transformative learning. This study takes a qualitative phenomenological approach. It seeks to identify phenomena of personal and professional transformative learning through the perceptions of the educators participating in this study. Through the use of the semi-structured interview it seeks to gather ‘deep’ data. This data represents the voices of these educators in narrative, thus emphasising the importance of the personal perspective and interpretation. This allowed this research to understand the subjective experience, motivation and actions of the participants. The Literature review informs the questions asked during the interview. The interview was used as a tool for gathering information regarding values, attitudes and beliefs of participants. Each interview was transcribed, translated (when response was given in Maltese) and categorised according to Mezirow’s ten stages. Excerpts from each stage were further processed to generate themes. The themes were later streamlined and an acceptable interpretive framework was created. Each interview excerpt was then analysed through the framework. Once all interviews were coded, detailed narratives were written. These narratives are meant to help the reader reflect on the process of transformative learning. It underscores those factors highlighted by the participants, which helped bring about both personal and professional transformative learning. This research has identified that individual constructs are strongly determined by an individual’s personal learning characteristics. Awareness of these personal learning characteristics (self-knowledge) helped educators assess their practice and understand how their personal characteristics were determining their approach to teaching and affecting their interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues. This research showed that transformative learning is a mutually interdependent experience. Individual transformation amounts to, and is influenced by, the collective transformation. This study highlighted the role of the school community in the pursuit of personal transformation. Yet another important finding of this research is the importance of a shared language of possibility. Through a shared language, a learning community can create a dialogic environment through which intentions, beliefs and interventions can be shared among the professional community. This research accentuates the importance of a shared language as a means of articulating a change in perspective. The study identified three main agents of change. The Let Me Learn team, as promoters and experts of this particular learning process; the teachers, who internalised the process and applied it to their practice; and the school’s senior management team, who internalised the Process, positioned it into the larger vision of the school and created a conducive environment through which the whole school community was empowered to take responsibility to bring about change in practice. A number of implications emerge from this study that could inform policy on teacher professional learning. A major implication concerns the importance of a shared language – a language that reflects the shared values and ideological position of the community. Such language frames the learning process, makes learning visible for teachers to be able to respond effectively with strategies that respect each learner’s learning preference and makes learning visible to the learner himself. Another implication from this study arises from the finding that the transformative learning process of any individual educator and effectively of the whole school community, goes beyond the effectiveness and limitations of any one professional development programme. True and deep-seated transformative learning comes from within the individual educator. This statement has serious repercussions on any professional development programme that aims to aid participants in their quest to transform their practice. This study also emphasised the importance that any professional development needs to be seated in the local experience and needs of the school community. Any attempts at developing comprehensive, nation-wide projects with pre-packaged approaches, are doomed to fail. What this research has shown is that for effective professional development, the identified outcomes need to correspond to the local needs of the school, rather than the national guidelines, detached from the realities of the particular school. Finally, this study accentuated the importance of incorporating mentoring support in any professional development proposal. Delivery of information and skills without follow-up tend to lead to superficial application. Transformative learning presupposes a period of shared reflection on practice and collegial mediation of ideas through contact between teachers and their leaders and on-the-job support from their professional development mentors.

Proceso de adaptación a la dinámica familiar de los combatientes del VRAEM / Process of adaptation to the family dynamics of the VRAEM fighters

Lucho Delgado, Sthepanie Valeria, Pozo Vargas, Ingrid Alexandra 14 March 2022 (has links)
The objective of this study was to analyze and describe the process of adaptation to the family dynamics of the combatants of the VRAEM to their families. The research is of a qualitative and phenomenological design, and the sample consisted of seven soldiers who participated in the research and who are currently studying at the war college. The collection instrument was a semi-structured interview, with which a content analysis was carried out in order to abstract the most relevant information and at the same time respond to the purpose of the research. The results obtained show that family support allows the adaptation process to be more assertive; the officer finds his own personal tools to overcome his fears, cognitive and behavioral disruptions in order to feel part of his family dynamics again. Therefore, it is concluded that military officers seek to adapt based on their personal resources in conjunction with their context. / Tesis

Pedagogers möjligheter till reflektion : En fokusgruppsmetod kring hur arbetslagen beskriver sitt arbete med pedagogisk dokumentation i förskolan / Educators' opportunities for reflection : A focus group method on how the work team describes their work with pedagogical documentation in preschool

Wanneståhl, Ulrika, Andersen, Therése January 2022 (has links)

Agricultural advisory approaches enabling producers' capacity building are the center of interest of many development actors, especially in developing countries. Management Advice for Family Farms (MAFF – Conseil à l'exploitation familial / CEF) is a management advice approach, based on learning methods and decision support tools, helping producers to evolve on their strategic thinking. The aim of this research is to analyze the evolution of producers' strategic management through MAFF. We chose to analyze the learning processes induced by MAFF by characterizing the evolution of strategic thinking for nineteen producers in Southern Bénin. We consider the evolution of strategic thinking as a complex, non linear and recursive process, similar to a learning process. The evolution of strategic thinking is identified through the evolution of producer's proactivity through MAFF, proactivity being defined as the combination of producers' strategic vision (including their perceived source of change) and the strategic actions undertaken to reach this strategic vision. In order to describe the producers' situation before MAFF, we chose to focus on three main levels: their proactivity, their activity systems (including their resources for different types of capitals) and their planning practices for the management of their farm. From an interpretativist point of view, we analyzed producers' speech and representations, and the changes their spontaneously attributed to MAFF after one year of participation. The results of this research show first that the three levels of characterization of the producers' situation before MAFF started (proactivity, activity system and resources, planning practices) are not directly linked. This work also shows the evolution of producers' proactivity through MAFF in a limited time (one year), mainly by changing their perception on their perceived constraints and resources, revealing flexibility, changing their vision of the future and their perception of their power on their environment and change. Finally, those results substantiate the recursivity of the learning process, proactivity profile before MAFF being the main influence factor of strategic thinking building during this first year of participation to MAFF. Those results open new research perspectives, to analyze this strategic thinking building process on the longer term, the analysis of the persistence of proactivity, and the link between proactivity, performance and the sustainability of producers' projects. Those results also raise questions at the operational level, on the inclusivity of advisory approaches, on the adaptation of methods and tools to trigger this strategic thinking building, and on the necessary capacity building for all advisory system professionals, to comprehend the various dimensions of the producers' learning processes and to take into consideration producers' strategic thinking.

It’s their world : An interview study about digital tools and learning in physical education

Petersson, Alice, Wahlund Hansson, Isabella January 2020 (has links)
The Swedish school becomes more and more digitized after a decision from the Government of Sweden. However, digital tools should have a function for the pupils learning process. Aim The purpose of this study is to investigate, problematise and analyse how teachers work with digital tools in physical education at the Swedish upper secondary school and how it contributes to the pupils learning. In this study we have asked following: What digital tools are used and how are they used by the surveyed teachers in physical eduaction? How does the surveyed teachers deem that the tools contribute to the pupils learning? and According to the surveyed teachers, what are the advantages and disadvantages with digital tools in physical education in relationship to learning? Method The study is based on a sociocultural perspective and have a qualitative approach, where seven teachers have been interviewed in a hand-picked selection. The analyse was done using a thematic color coding. Results The result shows strikingly positive attitudes and arguments for the use of digital tools in physical education. For example, to show a video clip can contribute to increase the pupils movement ability and heart rate trackers can help the pupils to understand physiology. A challenge can be to deal with technical malfunctions, and also that some tools distract the pupils from the lesson.   Conclusion The conclusion is that digital tools can contribute to the pupils learning process if the teacher who use it have good skills and does it correctly. Also that pupils need to understand that digital tools should be used for teaching purposes and not for spending time on other funnier things on their phones.

Une analyse longitudinale et multiniveau de la construction de la coordination interpersonnelle : le cas d'un centre de formation de football professionnel / A longitudinal and multi-level analysis of interpersonal coordination construction : the case of a training center of professional football

Kerivel, Thibault 06 June 2019 (has links)
In order to answer the main question about the difference between a team of experts and an expert team (Fiore et Salas, 2006), research in work sciences and sport sciences showed that the association of expert individuals was not sufficient to produce collective performances (Sève, Bourbousson, Poizat et Saury, 2009). However, the present studies on this theme do not allow to answer directly the question of collective expertise construction (Bourbousson et al., 2008; Bourbousson et Sève, 2010; Eccles et Tenenbaum, 2004). Our thesis work aims to answer this question through the analysis of interpersonal coordination construction between football players in a team, within a professional training center. With a naturalist approach, we created a methodology which is qualitative (non-invasive with autoconfrontation semi-guided interviews, and ethnographic notes), longitudinal (22 months followup) and multi-level (analysis of the training plan, of trainers’ activity and analysis of players activity). Results are exposed in three chapters: 1) study of the evolution of the group awareness regarding thesituation (Endsely, 1995), 2) the different collective training processes mobilized by players during the 6 training sessions; 3) the influence of training plan and trainers’ activity on players activity in situation. Our results have been discussed in relation with literature in sport sciences and ergonomic psychology. Finally, our thesis work offers methodologic, conceptual and practical advances.

Estetiska lärprocesser i svenskundervisningen : En empirisk studie utifrån ett lärarperspektiv / Working with aesthetic learning processes in Swedish language teaching. : An empirical study from a teacher perspective.

Nevrup, Amelie, Watanen, Sofia January 2022 (has links)

Lärandeprocessen vid Interprofessionellt lärande ur handledarteams perspektiv / The learning process in Interprofessional Education from supervisor team perspectives

Isgren, Catarina January 2023 (has links)
Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) is a way to make students in healthcare professions equipped with the collaborative skills required for today’s complex healthcare. In clinical placements students from health profession programs can learn with, from and about each other so that they can collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality healthcare. The interprofessional education is possible through supervision from health professions who collaborate around the student learning and the patient healthcare.  Aim: The aim of this study is to gain knowledge about the learning process in IPE that take place in an Interprofessional Training ward (IPTW) from the supervisor teams’ perspective.  Method: In an IPTW students from occupational therapist-, physiotherapist-, medical- and nursing programs form teams for IPE in periods of two weeks with supervisor teams. With an inductive method, interviews with focus groups consisting of supervisor teams have been conducted and analyzed through thematic analysis.  Results: Based on the supervisor teams' experiences of creating interprofessional learning with student teams in the daily work with the care of patients, a learning process has been made visible. This learning process has been written out as a model and analyzed using known obstacles and enablers for IPE from supervisor perspective. The model has also been interpreted through pedagogical theory that has been used in IPE. Conclusion: The supervisor teams use a learning process with pedagogical models and strategies to handle obstacles and enablers to create understanding and change towards an interprofessional collaboration among the students. These models and strategies are supported by pedagogical theory. There is a gap in research on how IPE is carried out by interprofessional supervisor teams’, however the findings of this study contribute with new knowledge about how a learning process can be used in IPE.
