A metamodern stakeholder relationship management model for non-profit organisationsMeyer, Irma 11 1900 (has links)
Theorists and management in the South African non-profit sector agree that strong
stakeholder relationships are essential in negotiating the challenges faced by the
South African non-profit sector. Despite the acknowledgement from the non-profit
sector that strong relationships are key to achieving organisational goals, there is an
apparent lack of knowledge and strategic thinking amongst them pertaining to the
concept of stakeholder relationship management.
Against this background the purpose of this study was therefore to develop a
metamodern model for stakeholder relationship management, aimed specifically at the
South African non-profit sector, that could be implemented by NPO management in a
practical manner.
The blurring lines between the opposing views of modernism versus postmodernism
motivated the choice of metamodernism as a relevant worldview for this study.
Metamodernism does not imply a balance between these poles, but rather a constant
swinging of the pendulum during which metamodernism negotiates between
modernism and postmodernism. It is the construction of a workable, interrelated
worldview, recognising the intimate relationship between modernism and
postmodernism. It was therefore concluded that a metamodern worldview in which
both modernism and postmodernism feature, would not only make it possible for nonprofit
organisation managers to understand and join the discussion on stakeholder
relationship management, but also to implement the proposed metamodern
stakeholder relationship management model.
The resultant metamodern stakeholder relationship management model for non-profit
organisations is framed by so-called modernistic communication and stakeholder
relationship management theories, but it was done in line with the metamodern
worldview of the study, allowing for initiative and innovation. The flexible, organic and
cyclic nature of the proposed model echoes this worldview.
A qualitative, exploratory and interpretative research design was implemented to test
a conceptual framework and face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted with senior management in the non-profit sector. The design of the framework and
subsequent model was guided by a number of assumptions and propositions arising
from a thorough literature review, all of which were supported and confirmed by the
research results.
The most significant contribution of the study is the application of a metamodern
worldview emanating from a reluctance to choose between a modern or postmodern
stance when discussing communication science and stakeholder relationship
management practices. It is therefore foreseen that it would offer the field of
communication science new and creative means of combining modernism and
postmodernism approaches when studying communication phenomena. It will also
expand the responsibility for communication and stakeholder relationship
management beyond that of the communication specialists to senior management in
the non-profit sector. / Communication Science / D. Litt. et Phil. (Communication)

The relationship between managerial motivation and sense of coherenceCoetzee, Marius Gideon 06 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this research is to determine whether a relationship exists between two constructs, namely managerial motivation and sense of coherence and to determine whether any variance exists between two groups of people in terms of the mentioned constructs.
The study was conducted on a total sample of 124 employees of the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) which was divided into two groups, namely managers and supervisors in view of the position they held at the Agricultural Research Council.
The results of the study indicated that a significant positive relationship exists between the dimensions of managerial motivation and the dimensions of sense of coherence of the total sample. There is also a significant variance in terms of two dimensions between the two groups, namely power motive as dimension of managerial motivation and meaningfulness as dimension of sense of coherence. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M.A. (Industrial Psychology)

Zhodnocení finanční náročnosti motivačního programu ve vybraném podniku / Evaluation of the financial demands of motivation program in a chosen companyVLASÁKOVÁ, Václava January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the financial demands of actual motivation program in a chosen company, to analyze it, compare and to describe the development of benefits provided by the company in the course of time in the terms of costs. Next was to find and identify linkages and connections between employee benefits and economic variables of the company and to describe their potential interactions. It was proved that the actual motivational program is very financially demanding for the company considering the deteriorating economic results in last years. It was suggested that if this economy trend continues, it would be better to lower the amount of provided benefits despite their undeniable stabilization effect. It was proved that the company is orientated to tax and insurance advantaged benefits. This can bring the savings in the field of labor costs, on the other hand the increase of additional costs which come from unclear tax system. It showed, that the benefits as well as the wages adapt to economic reality very slowly and also their structure changed according to economic results, from benefits orientated to consumption during economically successful years to the long term responsible benefits during the years of economic decline.

Klíčová motivika české dekadentní a parnasitní lyriky / Key thems of Parnasist and Decadent lyric poetry in the Czech LiteratureROLNÍKOVÁ, Eliška January 2011 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is a characterisation of key motivic units in lyrical works of Jaroslav Vrchlický and Jiří Karásek ze Lvovic, thus it explores Czech parnassian and decadent poetry of the end of 19th century. It observes and traces literal, esthetical and thought shifts of both authors from the aspect of various motives usage. The thesis is divided into five chapters, each of them dealing with one specific motivic unit. The chapters are: 1. Motives of woman, body and sexuality. 2. Motives of dream, imaginary and escape. 3. Motives of dying, disease and decay. 4. Motives of depressiveness, grief, bitterness and vanity. 5. Motives of nature and landscape. Each chapter compares these motives, examines their usage by both authors and looks at how their form and expression undergo a process of certain changes. It also focuses on those motives that appear as completely new elements in their poetry. The conclusion provides with brief summaries of all chapters and a short look through frequency word dictionary of relevant volumes of poems.

Geschwisterrivalitäten im Buch Genesis : Eine literaturwissenschaftliche Analyse ausgewählter Geschwisterrivalitäten / Sibling rivalries in Genesis : a literary analysis of selected sibling rivalriesMartella, Immanuel Matthäus 11 1900 (has links)
Genesis is a book of family histories which are marked throughout by conflict. This applies in particular to rivalry between brothers. Frequent episodes of reversals and other catalysts ignite conflicts which continually endanger family continuity. Although sibling rivalry has been extensively addressed by the academic research, the analysis of interconnected and recurrent literary motifs among the stories has not yet been sufficiently explored. Therefore, the present study investigates the literary connections among three principal rivalries: Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau and Joseph and his brothers. This includes, in particular, the analysis of those texts which deal with the origin, escalation and resolution of these conflicts. As a result of this study, lexical and thematic motifs, as well as motifs of plot development among the stories are worked out. These motifs present a tightly interwoven narrative network among the stories. They reveal a narrative arc of suspense which ranges from the primeval fratricide to fraternal forgiveness, teetering continually on the brink of fratricide / Genesis is a book of family histories which are marked throughout by conflict. Previous issue date: 2012-03-21 / The present thesis defends that Hegel´s dialectic can be understood as a process of development, both from the standpoint of pure reason and from a perspective based on historical and political factors. The dialectic of the concept is a development of the consciousness of being with relation to an object so as to comprehend the universal content of the object. The preservation of what is in opposition in the dialectical synthesis is the nucleus of the idea of development and what gives it a positive, constructive and directional character as philosophical and historical process. From a strictly rational point of view, development is the progression of consciousness. From a historical perspective, development is the progressive manifestation of spirit, or Geist. Both means of development consolidate themselves with the enunciation of the concept, which envelops an internal and subjective determination as well as a normative element. The philosophical law contained in the concept reveals its intrinsic value and its comprehension becomes a constitutive part of being. The determination in terms of rule of law and moral values is the absolute determination towards which is driven the national spirit.

Was zieht uns an?
A major challenge in travel demand modelling is the correct representation of decision patterns underlying the choice of destinations. This choice determines the spatial structures of demand and is closely related to central modelling results.
Around one third of everyday trips in Germany are for shopping and errands. Numerous studies show the importance of habitualised behavioral patterns when choosing a shopping location. The motives for choosing a shop are considered to be very diverse. Particular importance is attributed to primary activity locations. Nevertheless, the representation of the target choice in demand modelling is usually very simplified. Usually, a supply purchase is implicitly assumed, with the size of the shop and travel time from the previous location being the most important choice criteria.
Using empirical analyses, this dissertation shows possibilities for a behavior-oriented depiction of shopping location choice in microscopic passenger transport models. These are discussed in terms of their usability for modeling. The analyses focus on the variability of destinations, the decisive motives and the spatial reference points of the location search. Using the example of the purchase of food and beverages, textiles and consumer electronics, differences between shopping goods of different periodicity and also different groups of people are presented.
Simulation calculations with the demand model TAPAS show that a differentiation of the type of purchase and the use of a motive-based accessibility measure greatly improves the modelling results. The dissertation provides extended indicators for a consideration of spatial reference points in the evaluation of the modelling results. Furthermore, the analyses of activity areas, diversion factors, the location of shopping locations and cumulative travel distances provide information that can be generally used to define adequate search areas and reference points for the modelling of urban study areas.Einkaufsverhalten
