A deep meaning in a shorter text" : A qualitative study of teachers' experiences and perceptions of the occurrence and work with poetic texts in Swedish teaching for year F-3

Josefsson, Malin January 2022 (has links)
Poetic texts are included as one of the text types students in year F-3 should encounter in the teaching according to the curriculum's central content for the subject Swedish. There is research that shows that poetry often meets with resistance and is seldom made a natural part of teaching, but there is also research that shows advantageous ways of working to come to terms with teaching poetry. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to expand the knowledge about teachers' experiences of poetry by examining how four teachers active in year F-3 perceive and describe the occurrence of and work with poetry in Swedish teaching. The study is qualitative, and triangulation is used as a method through semi-structured interviews and document analysis. The theoretical starting point in the study is sociocultural theory. The analysis of the study's collected material is based on a hermeneutic approach. The study shows that varied working methods and rich opportunities for students to interpret poetry have a positive impact on students' knowledge development. Also, that the teacher's knowledge and interest in poetry do not depend on each other to conduct teaching of good quality. Furthermore, this study shows that poetic texts are not given as much space in teaching as other types of text.

The problems with a hybrid identity expressed in poetry

Persson, Sofia January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to analyse the expression of the difficulties with a hybrid identity in two contemporary poems written by two authors from Latin America, Gloria Anzaldúa and Julia Alvarez. The analysis of the two poems take into account the perspective of a hybrid identity and the problems that this entails in a society filled with rules, standards and boundaries between different ethnic, cultural and sexual groups.  The analysis of the two poems is followed by a comparison of the results of the investigation and ultimately is presented the conclusions. The study shows that the poems share several respects, despite that they at first seems very different. An example is the similarities of the main messages that the poems convey, that we need to accept the mix of cultures, ethnics and sexualities.

Det cykliska : The cyclic / The cyclic

Ringeborn, Ulrika January 2012 (has links)
In this essay I analyze the way my collection of poetry relates to the concept cyclic. What is cyclic and what different interpretations are there concerning the concept? Which other related concepts are there regarding things that seem to reoccur regularly? How does the cyclical, the circular, relate to the linear in regard, for example, to the perception of time? Life often creates the sense that different phenomena and experiences repeat themselves. Different processes are conducted according to regular or irregular cyclical phases, situations seem familiar and events can be relived.          Starting from my writing project Sinnligt kviller, a collection of poems, I discuss these questions in themselves and the impact they have had on my collection. I describe the phenomenon cyclic as a result of the emotions and moods this term creates in a more or less decisive way.          The intention with this paper is to show how Sinnligt kviller offers different perspectives of and reflections upon the various feelings provoked by the cyclic in our lives, feelings that are given my own voice in the literary text under study.

Ståbi, Kersti January 2017 (has links)
Kersti Ståbi Performing poems from the Poetic Edda I am a folk singer and oral storyteller. In my Masters project I have made a series of concerts performing the poem Vǫluspá from the Poetic Edda in its original Old Norse. Building on the musical elements in the Eddic poems, I’ve been searching the borderlands between speech and singing, using melodic material in the modern Swedish and Norwegian languages. As a method I have imitated singers in different living epic singing traditions from around the world, basing the creative process on mimicry and improvisation. This was a fast route to performances of great diversity: the Manas singer from Kyrgyzstan gradually enters a trancelike state, while Pansori from Korea made me think "unmelodic folk opera" and the Indian Pandvani is all-or-nothing storytelling with music serving as an engine. One specific perspective I have researched is the concept of a ”First Listener” - a representative of the audience on stage that can, but doesn’t necessarily have to, contribute musically. Traditionally the First Listener in Pandvani is very active; singing, shouting and challenging the teller, while the Pansori First Listener is a supporting commenting percussionist. As a storyteller and lead singer I found the presence of a First Listener highly fruitful in the process leading up to the performances. As a stage concept it offers forceful dynamics between the singer, the listeners and the poem. The poems of the Poetic Edda were created and performed in an oral tradition, but survived to modern times only via written text. I regard myself a performer formed in a literate culture but in an oral music tradition. With that in mind I have explored performance of this epic material and its metres. Translation has become a keyword with many facets.

La autorrealización en el Camino de Santiago : Un análisis diacrónico sobre la representación de la autorrealización y el camino como símbolo de la vida en la poesía sobre el Camino a Santiago de Compostela / Self-consciousness in the Way of Saint James : A diachronic analysis of the representation of self-consciousness and the way as a symbol of life in poetry about the Way to Santiago de Compostela.

Holmgren Rylander, Linda January 2020 (has links)
