Under Covid-19-pandemin har den svenska grundskolan varit öppen. Lärarna har riskerat att bli smittade på jobbet. Studien undersöker hur trä- och metallslöjdslärare har åtgärdat slöjdsalen pågrund av pandemin, och hur lärarna har känt kring att bli utsatta för smitta och hur det påverkar elevernas möjligheter till lärande. Jag har intervjuat fem slöjdlärare, transkriberat intervjuerna och sorterat dem efter teman. Slöjdlärarna har inte gjort något för att hindra smitta i slöjden, och känner sig inte oroad över att blir smittade själva. Vidare undersökningar visar att det inte är riktigt så enkelt. Lärarna är oroliga över om det blir rättvis bedömning, att ge eleverna möjligheter att lära, speciellt vid distansundervisning. Olika typer av kommunikationer är viktigt i trä- och metallslöjd. Med fysisk distans, faller flera av kommunikationsformerna. Uppe på det har slöjdlärarna en tuffare arbetsdag med mer arbete och oro än innan. Kommunikationen med rektor har varit bra, men slöjdlärarna tycker det är omöjligt att översätta restriktionerna till verklighet. Slöjdlärarna hade två val: axla alla diskussioner och extra arbete för att hindra smitta, som resulterar i att eleverna har lägre möjlighet för att lära. Eller inte göra något för att förhindra smitta, men resultatet att eleverna lär sig som förut, men slöjdlärarna själva riskerar smitta. Alla intervjuade lärare valde det sista

In this essay I want to see if using theories of practical knowledge can deepen the understanding of the tradition of Pilgrimage in the 4th century. I have selected three of the most known and well preserved travelogue texts: Egeria's travels, Jeromé s Epitaphium Paulae and Itinerarium Burdigalense. In this essay I will use the theories of practical knowledge to analyse expression of emotions, corporeality and spatiality. I will use a qualitative-inductive method and a hermeneutic method and also a comparative method to compare the expression.

Jag har valt att kalla mitt projekt ”Whereabouts”, vilket betyder plats eller tillhåll. Och det är just en plats som jag försöker skapa i mitt examensarbete. Arbetet handlar om textil i rum och hur jag kan använda mig utav textil för att bygga upp en rumslighet. Fokus ligger på offentlig miljö, och hur jag i en sådan miljö kan skapa en plats för avskildhet och lugn. Lite som ett gömställe att fly till när omgivningen blir stökig och orolig. Det hela resulterar i en rumsavdelare i form av ett textilt tak och golv.Kärnan i projektet är att utforska hur jag kan skapa rumslighet, eller snarare illusionen av rumslighet då jag inte använder mig av några väggar som stänger av flödet i rummet. Istället undersöker jag om det skapas en känsla av att kliva in i ett annat område eller rum genom att föra in ett extra, lägre tak över ett begränsat område. Om det skapas en annan atmosfär under taket. För att ytterligare bygga på detta, arbetar jag även fram ett golv, som fungerar som en avspegling av taket och därmed binder ihop golv och tak.“Whereabouts” is a hideaway, a place to escape to when the surroundings are noisy and unrestful. With a room divider, in the form of a textile ceiling and floor, a place of serenity is created in the public room. Inspired by the spatiality created underneath the tree crown and of the light that seeps through the leaves, “Whereabouts” forms a more natural atmosphere in an otherwise artificial context.The work revolves around the use of textiles in interiors and how I can create spatiality, or rather the illusion of it, not using any walls. Instead, I examine whether the use of a ceiling and floor can create a different atmosphere and a sense of space. / Program: Textildesignutbildningen

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur den rumsliga utformningen av utomhusmiljön i förskolan främjar inkludering av barn i åldrarna ett till sex år där möjlighet till olika typer av lek och pedagogisk verksamhet understöds. Studien är förlagd till Mullvadens förskolegård på Södermalm i Stockholm. Det är en kvalitativ studie där observations-, intervju-, enkät- och litteraturstudier har genomförts. I resultatdelen har tre tematiska områden lyfts fram; åldersanpassning, rumslighet och pedagogisk verksamhet. Genom designprocessen har sedan dessa tematiska områden brutits ner till temat för gestaltningsförslaget; variation och kontrast. Empirin och teori ligger till grund för gestaltningsförslaget och har utförts för att undersöka förutsättningar, problem och visioner. Resultatet av studien visar att det finns potential för att, genom rumsliga element, förbättra förutsättningarna för inkludering, genom att ändra rörelseflöden och struktur samt tillföra material. Naturmiljöer framhålls genomgående som positivt för barns utveckling, vilket är en stor utmaning att tillgodose i en stadsmiljö. Gestaltningsförslaget avser att ge Mullvadens förskola en variationsrik gård med kontraster i en ”naturlig” miljö. Naturelement och material har tillförts vilket ämnar bidra till att egenskaper från naturen, så som att vara levande och modifierbar erhålls. / The purpose of this study is to investigate how the spatial design of the preschool outdoor environment has the potential to promote inclusivity of children aged one to six years, when utilised in conjunction with different types of play and educational activities. The study is located in Mullvadens preschool in Stockholm. This is a qualitative study were observation, interview, survey and literature studies have been conducted. The results have highlighted three key thematic areas; age adjustment, spatiality and educational work. The design process has these themes, "boiled down” to the theme of the design proposal; variety and contrast. The empirical data and theory underpin the design proposal and have been conducted to determine current conditions, problems and visions. The results of this study show that there is potential to, by utilisation of spatial elements, change the climate of inclusion. It is argued that this can be achieved by both the addition of materials and the removal of items, with the aim of changing the flow of motion and structure in the space. Natural environment is emphasised throughout as positive in the development of children, posing a major challenge in an urban environment. The design proposal aims, however, to make this challenge central and to provide Mullvadens preschool with a diversified yard which includes the "natural" environment. By using natural elements and materials an environment is proposed which not only links to nature but is, itself, more natural in that it is alive and modifiable.

Research on livelihoods has been conducted across various fields but there has been less focus upon detection and analyzing of the interconnected relationships between space and livelihoods. This study investigates these relationships from a place-specific point of view utilizing the Tibetan exile community in India as a case study. The qualitative method of semi-structured, in-depth interviews has been employed in order to gather primary data. Theoretically, this thesis draws it framework mainly from the human geography perspective on space and place combined with the conceptual Sustainable Livelihood framework.  This thesis argues that it is possible to distinguish four examples of reciprocal relationships between space and livelihoods in the places studied. These are spatial congregation into an ethnic enclave, the altering of place specific time-space relations which in turn alters livelihood possibilities over time, migration and spatial dispersion of livelihoods. These results are case specific and not generalizable. / Forskning kring försörjningsmöjligheter har utförts inom en rad vetenskapliga fält men få har fokuserat på att finna och analysera ömsesidiga relationer mellan space och försörjningsstrategier. Denna studie undersöker dessa relationer med en plats-specifik utgångspunkt och använder det tibetanska exilsamhället i Indien som fallstudie. Den kvalitativa metoden semi-strukturerade djupintervjuer har använts för att samla in primärdata. Uppsatsen drar sitt teoretiska ramverk från det samhällsgeografiska perspektiven på space och place i kombination med det konceptuella ramverket Sustainable Livelihood framework.  Uppsatsen menar att det är möjligt att särskilja fyra exempel på de ömsesidiga relationerna mellan space och försörjningsstrategier. Dessa är rumslig ansamling i en etniska enklav,  förändringar i platsspecifika tid-rum relationer vilket påverkar försörjningsmöjligheter över tid, migration och rumslig spridning av försörjning. Dessa resultat anses vara fallspecifika och därför inte möjliga att generalisera.

This thesis focus on the presentation of the filmic room the viewer sees in George A. Romero´s three horror classics Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead. The hypothesis goes as follow; fear and element of tension becomes greater if the audience/viewer has a good knowledge about the filmic room in the film, in other words, a good spatial awareness. The conclusion is that it does. The environment is active in its becoming and in its presentation to the viewer. Rooms and places, even objects, is a catalyst and a mean to create emotion. To tackle the problem regards to human emotion, which is highly subjective, ANT (actant-network-theory) is used. This theory is a tool to help decode what it is we find emotionally enticing regards to room and objects in the films.

Denna studie är ett examensarbete som har utförts som en del av utbildningen inom Produktutveckling med inriktning Ljusdesign på Tekniska Högskolan i Jönköping vårterminen 2018. Varje utomhusmiljö är unik och förändras efter dygnet och årstiderna vilket i sin tur gör den komplex. Dygnet runt används det offentliga stadsrummet frekvent av dess invånare och besökare. För att vilja och våga vistas i stadsrummet även under kvällstid utgör belysningen en viktig roll. Genom att framhäva olika platsers rumslighet och atmosfär utefter rummet och människan kan mer trivsamma och trygga platser skapas för att både mötas och vistas på. Syftet med denna studie har varit att få en djupare förståelse av hur människan upplever rumslighet och atmosfär med varierad ljusfördelning i ett offentligt exteriört stadsrum. Genom att utföra en experimentell situation i fullskala på ett gångstråk/en allé i de centrala delarna av Jönköping kunde fyra ljusscener i ett och samma rum studeras, detta möjliggjorde att trovärdig och jämförbar data kunde inhämtas för att sedan analyseras. Av studiens resultat framgår att människans upplevelse är individuell och att dess rörelsemönster i ett rum varierar beroende på hur ljuset är uppställt. Beroende på faktorer som könsfördelning, tidigare erfarenheter och platsens utformning bidrar också detta till hur ett rum upplevs mellan individen. Oavsett om upplevelsen av ett rum betraktas utifrån eller inifrån upplever människor det vara lika. Hur ett rums dimensioner framhävs i form av dess höjd, bredd och djup kan upplevelsen av rummets form påverkas. En jämn kontrastvariation mellan ljus och mörker skapar ett mer inbjudande intryck vilket kan bidra till en ökad upplevelse av trygghet samt underlätta orienterbarheten. / This study is a bachelor thesis that has been carried out as a part of the course in Product Development with focus Lighting Design at Jönköping University, School of Engineering spring term 2018. Every outdoor environment is unique as the seasons and the developing day which in turn makes it complex. The public urban space is frequently used by its inhabitants and visitors throughout the day. The function of lighting is therefore essential for the individual's role of wanting and daring to reside in the urban spaces also during the evening. By emphasizing the spaciousness and atmosphere of different environments along the room and the individual, more comfortable and safe places can be created for both meeting and staying on. The purpose of this study has been to get a profound understanding of how different individuals experience of spatiality and atmosphere with varied light distribution in a public exterior urbanspace. By conducting an experimental full-scale situation on a walkway/avenue in the central parts of Jönköping, four different light scenes could be studied in the same exterior room. This enabled credible and comparable data to be retrieved and then analyzed. The study results show that the human experience is individual and that its movement patterns in a room vary, depending on how the light is set. Further factors as gender, past experiences and site design contributes to how a room is experienced between individuals. It has emerged from the study that whether or not a room is viewed from within or from without perspective, the experience among the participants is perceived equally. Depending on how an environmental dimension is accentuated in terms of its height, width and depth, the perception of the actual creation of the room can be influenced. An even contrast between light and dark creates a more inviting impression, which can contribute to an increased sense of security and facilitate orientation.

I projektet undersöktes hur kulturskolans olika aktiviter och verksamheter kan jämställas. Att genom en byggnad utan rumsligt inbyggda hierarkier få all utövning att skrida över varandras och sina egna gränser och inspirera varandra. Rummen är skapade för möjlighet till spontana föreställningar, improvisation, övning utanför lektionstid och sammankomst men också koncentrerad klassisk övning i mindre rum med lärare. / The project examined how the art and culture school association Kulturskolan’s various activities and operations can be equated. Through a building without spatially embedded hierarchies get all the exercise to undercut each other’s and their own borders and also inspire each other. The rooms are created for opportunities to spontaneous performances, improvisation exercises outside of class and gathering but also concentrated classic exercise in smaller rooms with a teacher.

Detta examensprojekt i inredningsarkitektur och möbeldesign på Konstfack, utforskar och utvecklar metoder för hur inredningsarkitektur kan gestaltas utifrån musik. Genom ett praktikbaserat undersökande analyseras subjektiva upplevelser av musik, vilka beståndsdelar som finns och hur musiken är uppbyggd. Ett undersökande som skapar ramar för inredningsarkitekten att förhålla sig till i en gestaltningsprocess. Inte som en begränsning, utan som ett gränssnitt som välkomnar alternativa arbetssätt och undersöker nya gestaltningsmöjligheter. Utifrån ett utvalt musikstycke gestaltas en interiör översättning av musiken och upplevelser den genererar. Projektet itererar mellan musikteori, studier av subjektiva upplevelser och färg-, ljus- och materialutforskning. Resultatet blir ett förslag på metoder för att analysera och studera rumslighet i direkt relation till musik, men också ett konkret gestaltningsförslag utifrån denna metodutveckling. Ett exempel på en översättning av ett medium till ett annat, som i sig blir ett fristående verk. Rytm, mörker och ljus formar tillsammans en temporal upplevelse. Ett musikstycke blir till interiör i långt, smalt rum, där ljuset hamnar i fokus mellan två skikt av väggar, med inslag av överraskningar som visar sig i ljusfärg, ytfärg eller material. / This degree project in interior architecture and furniture design at Konstfack, explores and develops methods for how interior architecture can be designed based on music. Through practice-based studies, the project analyzes subjective experiences of music, which components that exist and how the music is structured. Studies that creates frames for the interior designer to relate to in a design process. Not as limitations, but as an interface that welcomes alternative ways of working and investigates new design possibilities. Based on a selected piece of music, a translation into interior is created of the music and experiences it generates. The project iterates between music theory, studies of subjective experiences and color, light and material exploration. The result is a proposal for methods created for analyzing and studying spatiality in relation to music, but also a design proposal based on this method development. An example of a translation of one medium into another, which in itself becomes an independent work. Rhythm, darkness and light form a temporal experience together. A piece of music becomes an interior in a long, narrow room, where the light comes into focus between two layers of walls, with elements of surprises represented in colored light, surface color or material.

I exhale. In the corner is a pile of cardboard boxes that I had just opened up. Stretched across the floor are many carefully measured lines of white duct tape. On the computer are countless browser tabs - from waves articles to small forums - telling me how to set up my new speakers. Equidistant triangles and other exact angles. All that is left to do is calibrate the volume so that each speaker reaches me equally. You see, I had decided to jump into surround sound. The thought of having a little personal cinema in my apartment to play with was not possible to pass on. I remember then sitting down in front of my digital audio workstation, with speakers surrounding me, and thinking.... Nowwhat? I had no idea what to do with it, what sound was supposed to go where, whether it should move or be still. I experimented with many surround things, never reaching a definite answer. I would go to the cinema to listen to other films - for research - but most of the time the sound never filled the room or left the screen, it is the spatial element of which I was mostly keen. What a waste. In the pursuit of discovering what surround means to me, the intimacy it can bring to a room; why mainstream films use it shyly, or don't use it at all.
