1	Jehovas vittnen och den tryckta sanningen : En retorikanalys av Jehovas vittnens tidskrift Vakna! / Jehovah's witnesses and the published truth : A rhetorical analysis on Awake! magazine Karlsson, Hans January 2013 (has links) This bachelor’s degree will examine the Swedish translation of the publication Awake! a religious monthly periodical published by the Jehovah’s witnesses as a way to complement their primary magazine The Watchtower. The purpose of this examination is to do a rhetorical analysis on how Awake! Magazine takes part in spreading the witnesses’ message and to examine what is being communicated towards its readers and what sort of language and arguments is used. One of my primary goals during this paper will be to also examine what sort of messages the periodical is sending towards its younger readers. The gathered empirical material will be examined through Berger and Luckmanns theories about social constructs and institutionalizations and Bourdieu’s Doxa theory. This study will show that the language that the periodical uses is constantly laden with religious meaning, every aspect of the everyday goings on that Awake! Magazine writes about is combined with excerpts from the Bible or other material published by Jehovah’s Witness. There is also a clear distinction in the way the magazine communicates with its readers. The language used to older readers is often aimed at their sense of logic, reason and at times meant to evoke the reader’s feelings towards different subject matters. The language and arguments aimed at the younger readers is instead focused on warnings and the importance of keeping chaste and obedient. The final summation shows that the periodical mostly uses a language and argument that is meant to bolster the readers pride and loyalty towards Jehovah’s and to underline the importance of innocent and obedience in teenagers and the seductive and corrosive nature of society outside of the confines of their faith. 2	Att hävda sig på marknaden : En analys av tidskriften Vakna's missionsfunktion / Maintaining a Hold on the Market : An Analysis of the Periodical Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society and its Missionary Function Holmberg, Alexander January 2013 (has links) Syftet med detta arbete är att ta reda på hur tidskriften Vakna! är utformad i sin roll som missionsmaterial för Jehovas vittnen. För att göra detta genomförs en retorisk analys av tolv olika utgåvor av tidskriften. Denna analys relateras till teorier om sociala verkligheter, religiösa marknader och olika former av deprivation som orsak till religiositet. Resultatet av arbetet visar på att Vakna! på många sätt är retoriskt utformat för att marknadsföra organisationen Jehovas vittnen och dess budskap som produkter på en religiös marknad. I relation till deprivationsteorier framgår det även en bild av en idealisk predisposition för att tilltalas av budskapet i Vakna!. Denna innehåller bland annat en religiösa bakgrund i form av en stark gudstro, en otrygghet gentemot omvärlden, otillfredsställande sociala förhållanden med mera. 3	Dr. Eleine Mad Jacobsson, Madeleine January 2021 (has links) Dr. Eleine Mad är Madeleine Jacobsssons talesperson för dom vetenskapliga och paranormala upptäckter som uppstår i hennes världar. Hon beskriver innehåll, teknik och estetik utifrån ett kategoriseringssytem där konsten delas upp som olika typer av komponenter och därefter avkodas dessa allteftersom. För att förstå intuitionens inblandning i arbetsprocessen omförvandlas den till tre separata roller av en Sökare, Samlare och Myntare. Med rollerna försöker jag beskriva på vilka sätt som intuitionen är till gagn eller av förödelse för det konstnärliga arbetet. Sagan om M handlar om en grodlik karaktär, Delop, som lämnar sin hemplanet för att uppsöka andra världar. I sitt sökande hittar Delop ett folkslag vars syn och levnadssätt skiljer sig från hennes erfarenheter av “verkligheten” såsom hon lärt sig att överleva i den. / Dr. Eleine Mad is Madeleine Jacobsson's spokesperson for the scientific and paranormal discoveries that arise in her worlds. She describes content, tecniques and aesthetics based on a categorization system where art is divided into different types of components and then decoded as they go. To understand the intuition's involvement in the work process, it is transformed into three separate roles by a Seeker, Collector and a Myntare(In swedish language the one who is a "myntare" -is verbally declaring a concept or term). With these roles I try to describe in what ways intuition is beneficial or devastating to the artistic work. The story of M is about a frog-like character, Delop, who leaves the home planet to seek out other worlds.
